You can get your valve clearances checked if not done. If valve clearances are towards lose side, but still under specified limits, just ignore the noise and ride on. Also, get the CCT checked and let us know.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It doesn't look like spark pinging in your case. If you are able to listen it in idle once engine is hot, it may be SHIM noise. Spark pinging occurs mostly under load and when motor is hot i.e. while pulling throttle after upshifts or going uphill.Originally posted by jatints View Post

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yes, 350 ml in each fork of motul 20w works better.
This time is used 331 ml, and it doesnt feel right.Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIsn't the one we use is 10w? I think the firangi ones use 5w, no?
Yes, 331 ML +- 10 ML and I've in fact used 350 ML of the same 20w Motul 350 ML per can, and worked like a charm, indeed.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Thats strange. My previous 2011 model cbr gave me around 35 km/l , in almost every conditiones. Riding style matters.Originally posted by jatints View PostDidn't knew that!
My friend's bs4 model feels kind of underpowered at 3-5k rpm compared to mine but his bike gives 30~ mileage anfd mine gives 23~ for almost same route.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
The manual recommends 331, give or take 10 ML extra. 175 is pretty much half the value and you'll only induce more dive and air inside your system. 331 is the recommended for stock OE oil. 350 is to make it a little stiffer. This is why it helps to read the manual, just so we don't get confused.Originally posted by Deathwing View Post350ml for each fork? Are u sure about this, I thought it was 175 on each fork.

Does it gets damaged in water?Originally posted by arvstreetracer View PostI am using P70 from Minda. Mine is 2012 and had only one horn - replaced with a pair of P70. They are small but effective. They come with a useful plug and play type wiring.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys could you please rate your experience amongst the following oils:
Motul 5100 (all variants that you would have tried)
Motul 7100 (all variants that you would have tried)
Shell ax7 semi synth
Shell ultra FS
Honda Throttle FS
I have tried Idemitsu FS 10w40 and didnt like it. This oil is on the heavier/thicker side. When my bike was on Honda Throttle FS, even in winters it started very smoothly without hesitation in first self. but with this oil it takes two selfs in summers and i can feel the difficulty it is taking for the oil to pump and bike firing becoming smooth.
Please give your rating to above oils.Engine Torque Curve Prediction from Stroke length

I think the Honda oil is pretty good. I changed to shell ultra and that's good as well. I'm partial to shell as I use it on all my bikes and car.Originally posted by Sahil Goel View PostGuys could you please rate your experience amongst the following oils:

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Tough choice. Good prices. I'd go with the abs one as safety comes first. Plus 17k kms on the cbr is not really much running as the engine is rock solid. Bikes that have not been used/run regularly have their own set of issues imo.Originally posted by sahil498 View PostGuys help!
I'm stuck in 2 choices. 4000 km, non abs, 2015 black color for 80k or 17000 km, tri color, 2014, abs for 70k.
Which one should I go for? Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It indeed is a tough call between, as The Pain said. I've used almost the entire series of Motul, and it's mostly been 15w50 to 20w50 grades. I'd personally lean towards Shell, there is some difference to the way Shell performs. In my experience with Motul, the oil that'd lean towards and did again and again would be 3100, 5100 and 7100 with 5100 being a fantastic cost effective all rounder. 300V is an overkill and I'd recommend everyone to stay off from 300V.Originally posted by Sahil Goel View PostGuys could you please rate your experience amongst the following oils:

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I have tried the Honda oil, motul 300V, motul 7100 and shell advance ultra. All in the 10W40 series. The motul 7100 and Shell are the best you can get yourself but it comes down to your riding ways. If you are a throttle maniac, you will love the motul 7100 10W40 and if you ride easy then shell will be your best bet.Originally posted by Sahil Goel View PostGuys could you please rate your experience amongst the following oils:

For me, I use Motul 7100 10W40 with K&N oil filter.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi. No idea about the hornet and neither the 3100. Sorry. If your hornet has a recommended 10W30 then you can use the 10W40 and see for yourself how it works out for you.Originally posted by #bpk View PostHi, is 10w 40 grade compatible with Honda Hornet ?
