Theoretically, they should be a direct swap.

Motul 300V isn't recommended for the CBR, in fact you're draining your money on an oil that doesn't even last long. Your best bet is to stock to 7100 or better 5100. Period.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Does any one know whats the cost of fuel pump and is there any cheaper alternative of the genuine one
My friends 2011 model has weak fuel pump and his bike has ran only 7600kms
Bike was stored for more than 2 years

I previously owned a 2011 model cbr. I sold that nd now purchased 2017 model repsol edition abs model cbr. But i felt that there is a noticeable difference in the pick of both the bikes. Pick in new one is tad slow . I want to give more throttle to gain the momentum than the old one. Is that an issue or is this usual? Bike is in pristine condition. Is there any chance that the throttle play can be the culprit?

I doubt that. Since CBR has 296mm and hornet has 276 mm, that might not be a fit. You can fit a small into a larger one, but not the other way round. But then, that's my doubts. If you are willing to spend 2150 on for the front one, Give it a try.

I have used the 300V 10W40 and trust me, from my experience, stay away from it. The oil won't last long. City normal riding is not at all smooth when compared to 7100 10W40. Plus it heats up a lot too.

300V is mainly for the high cc bikes which needs that kind of oil in order to make their engine run better.

Stick to 7100 10W40 my friend, you will be happy.

But if you still wish to experience it, by all means, go ahead. That is your call and everyone has the right to experience things for themselves as well.

            Ride safe.

For the new BS4 norm, the throttle input may have been made a little on the decent side. That's my guess.

But please do wait for the more experienced people who can help you with their theory and experience.

The cost of a new fuel pump is upwards of 12k, if my memory serves me right. Secondly, your fuel pump can be serviced, where in the pump motor can be outsourced i.e. third-party motor. The fuel pump can be dismantled, cleaned and then put back with a new motor. Third party motor costs approximately 3k, and can be used as a replacement to the stock motor. Replacement motors are available if specifically asked for it, though getting them can be a tiresome, but they can be procured.

How much kms have you clocked on your bike? If it's a new bike, less than 7k on the odo, it does take time for the bike to open up fully. Give it some time. And no, throttle play doesn't have much effect w.r.t to pick up, though throttle play is necessary it helps prevent throttle grabbing or accelerator grab unnecessarily. 2017 models all had BS3 engines. The BS4 came out with LED lamps. If it's LED it's BS4, normal halogen, it's BS3.

Hello cbr owners, I am planning to buy a cbr so need your advice regarding the following questions:-

                      1. Is it really that much reliable that it can do 1lac+kms without opening the engine or any other problem ??

                      2. Since I am a very sane rider and always like to keep my bikes in pristine condition so can I expect a minimum of 30kmpl mileage in the city? (Currently my p220 gives 40kmpl in the city as I am very gentle with the throttle)

                      3. While on the highway I like to cruise constantly at 100-110kmph (not more than this), so can the cbr do this without any engine stress or vibes creeping in the handlebar or footpegs??

                      4. Can I tour with a pillion on this bike along with the load of saddle bags. Can this bike do it without any fuss??

                      5. Since the bs6 norms are kicking in from april next year then this bike will be discontinued. So will it hamper the availability of spare parts coz i am planning to keep the bike for the next 4-5 years.

What are your thoughts on Ceat Zoom Rad X1 for the CBR?
And also the Repsol Moto 4T 10w-40?

Ans:- Its built like a tank, mine is 2011 ABS and has done 1.2 lakh KM's, I never had an issue with the bike (especially engine wise) the only thing I changed was shims only once so far that's very small problem and some times you have to get timing chain adjusted (depends on how you ride) not a deal breaker in anyway. Just to give a better perspective, in 2015 Chennai was flooded and my area was affected too, I went through knee deep water for almost 1.5 kms with my friend and luggage on the back , the bike never stuttered or felt like will give up in middle. And I service every 5000 kms and use Shell fully synthetic engine oil with Shell normal petrol , my engine is smooth and also starts even today with just one push of button even if stays in rain all night.

                          2. Since I am a very sane rider and always like to keep my bikes in pristine condition so can I expect a minimum of 30kmpl mileage in the city? (Currently my p220 gives 40kmpl in the city as I am very gentle with the throttle)
Ans:- Yes you can but depends on what city we are talking about, I can get around 30 kmpl because I never have to worry about long bumper to bumper traffic on the way to office. When it rains people in Chennai get mad and then all the roads get blocked then I get around 25 kmpl. You can get around 35 kmpl on highways though if you're touring.

                          3. While on the highway I like to cruise constantly at 100-110kmph (not more than this), so can the cbr do this without any engine stress or vibes creeping in the handlebar or footpegs??
Ans:- Upto 120 kmph you won't feel any vibrations also wind-blast is less beyond that engine stress can be felt little bit.

                          4. Can I tour with a pillion on this bike along with the load of saddle bags. Can this bike do it without any fuss??
Ans:- Never tried so won't comment but shouldn't be a problem but I don't think you can do high speeds in that case.

                          5. Since the bs6 norms are kicking in from april next year then this bike will be discontinued. So will it hamper the availability of spare parts coz i am planning to keep the bike for the next 4-5 years.
Ans:- Spare parts it's not an issue because CBR250R has sold in good numbers in 2018 it has outsold the Apache 310 few months also, even if its discontinued this year itself by law the manufacturer has to provide spares for atleast 10 years minimum. Also make sure you have good service center in your place , in Chennai only 3 services have spares readily available at any time whereas many other SVC's don't even keep many components even f they're certified to service the CBR.

Doesn't fit at least in non-ABS models. I have compared both Hornet and CBR front disc pads (non ABS) by keeping together and are noticeably different in shape and size.

I was speaking for the abs version of both the bikes. If you take the abs front pads from hornet, then you can use it in your CBR 250r abs front.
