I bought a 2018 cbr250r 2 months back. I feel the bike leans down a bit too much when its kept on its side stand. I've attached a picture of my bike for you to see. Please suggest me if cbr 250r normally leans so low or is it just my bike? Click image for larger version

      Hi,

I think its normal in the first picture i can see base of the stand perfectly flush with the floor, only in second picture it feels bit leaning and 3rd picture its seems normal.

I don't see anything to be concerned. The stand as it is seems perfect, especially when checked from the right side of the bike. The lean it has is as perfectly okay, nothing to be worried about.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Hi all! I'd request our fellow xbhpians from Hyderabad to help me find a pair of Mrf Masseters for my cbr as I wasn't able to source them. The dealers keep saying we're not getting it from distributors in the first point.
I was planning on sourcing Michelin Pilot Street, but the pricing factor pulled me back. I'd be glad if anyone can help me source them for prices lesser than those on Amazon.
          Thanks in advance.

Forget about MRF Masseters, if you're not able to find them that's okay. Try the
Pirelli Angel C.T. 110/70-17 54S Tubeless Tyre, Front
Pirelli Angel C.T. 140/70-17 54S Tubeless Tyre, Rear

I can personally vouch for this tire, a very very good performer and once warmed up, becomes even better.

Available on Amazon at a good deal, since the tires are brand new older stock, they can be absolutely used without any problems. Two of my friends have them in their Duke and Fazer and are happy with their purchase.

            Cheers!

Thank you so much. I've gone through the reviews of Angel CT earlier and came across one cbr owner complaining of low wet grip and hesitated to go for them.

I'll give them a try this time.

Everytime i accelerated from 3000RPM to 4000RPM in high gear. (range in which there are minor vibes in visor) i could hear krrrrrr type of sound. Probably created by chain slapping the swing arm. I checked drive chain for slack and it seems okay. I have previously lost my chain slider 3 times, so checked it as well, it was in its place but when i pulled it a bit, it seems worn out. Check the photos yourself.

I want to know if the chain slider is really worn out or the sound is from somewhere else?
Going to visit ASC this sunday. Seems like worn chainslider to me. Front tyre is also due for replacement. I am going for CEAT zoom rad X1 110/70 R17 on the front. Rs.1900/- including installation. Hopefully not making a mistake here.
Other option was MRF Zapper FY1 (current stock front tyre) for 2850/-.

                Michelin are out of budget.
There is no destination, I just want to keep riding.

If not chainslider, it's spark pinging or knocking under load when engine is hot due to excessive carbon deposits. Get Yamalube PEA carbon cleaner from any YASS. Pour one can in 3-4 liters of petrol and run at highway speed. Better get 2 cans and pour directly into tank with a little more than half filled. You will notice the knocking disappears in 50-100 km of riding.

Not sure if that would solve the problem but if it has to be this, HP's regular 'power' petrol claims to do the same, not referring to power 99 here.

                    Happy riding

Unlikely cosidering similar sound is audible when i go over bumps. Lets see what ASC has to say. Any word on Ceat Zoom Rad X1?

PEA works in my case. PEA stands for Polyether Amines and is the best known petroleum detergent. I used to have this pinging under load. I utilize this Yamalube PEA carbon cleaner every 7-8k km. Yamaha recommends this for all of their motorcycles.

The Ceat Zoom Rad are a good pair of radials, compared to the bias ply counterparts, you can't go wrong with radials. Secondly, your chain slider has a notch on it which would lock with a hole provided on the swingarm. Overtime what happens, due to the chain rolling over it, it comes out of place and moves left, right and center and eventually the chain ruins the slider. One jugaady trick is to make small holes in the middle of the slider and use cable-ties to lock them up. This way they stay put and last long.

The "zing zing or slapping sound can also be to too loose or too tight a chain. Also a dirty chain makes all sorts of sound. Make sure the chain is having the right slack, cleaned lubed and the slider installed. If you have repeated slider issues, I'd suggest you try this jugaad.

I agree with you Arvind, I've had satisfactory experiences with the PEA based injector cleaners on my R15. I haven't tried the Yamaha PEA 50 ML can, but I did try Gumout, STP and the likes. They do make a difference. Though the effects whatsoever are palpable after a while, you definitely can feel smoothness and the vehicle's eager to rev easily.

I sold my 2011 model cbr 250 non abs. The bike has done around 42k kms. It was a wonderful journey. I loved the bike to the core. But the lack of bite in non abs model was bit of a concern.so i sold that to a fellow enthusiast and started to search for a worthy motorcycle with good braking abilityClick image for larger version

I got my tyres changed. Ceat exclusive shoppee failed to install their most expensive tyre (as per them), the Ceat zoom rad X1 110/70 R17. They tried to install two different tires on my front rim. both failed to mount properly, finally after wasting 3 hours. They said tyre is too wide to be installed. Scartches on the rim due to them wrestling with metal levers

worst part is, once they installed my old worn tyre back, tyre guy had audacity to ask me to lend him my bike so he could take a spin. Before i could say no, he fired up the engine. Felt like slapping this moron.

Anyways, got a new MRF RevZ FC1 installed @ 1900/- from another shop. So far happy with it. They didn't balance anything though.

That's great. The FC and FC1 series are radials that are used in the Dukes and are an equally good counterpart to Zoom Rad and Metz, Apollo Alpha and what not. These have great grip, once they are warmed up, on part with MPSRs or if not even slightly better when compared to the Michelins. Do keep your observations posted though, how she handles. Sad part is when they use tire reamer tools to undo/install the tire, this sort of eye sore are eventually an end result, which they shouldn't do.

Usually tires are installed on tire installation machines that do the job of both installation and uninstallation of the tire, they are fast and easy. Most don't have these machine and use tire reamer tools and the result is spoilt edges and paint chipping. Do we have a chance! Sigh!
