Yours is just a side stand mount bend, that can be easily mended, provided the job is done well. No need of chassis replacement. Just make sure

Always better to replace the fuel after prolonged halts, especially after this lockdown. Though the fuel smells "petrolish" it might have probably lost its calorific value for it to crank. Hence after you replaced the fuel, the bike fired up. The white smoke that came from the headlight area can be something burning on the exhaust or just water condensation evaporating after a prolonged start. Do replace your brake fluid, radiator coolant and engine oil which I'd strongly recommend. Try to fire up the bike every alternate day if you are not riding helps keeps the engine itself lubricated.

    Hope it helps!

Oh my! That's the thermostat coupling. You're supposed to have a spring loaded thermostat inside. Was it empty when you opened it? It means someone when installing the thermostat has forgot to install it on your bike. Yikes!

    Cheers!

Yes, even I think replacing coolant and brake fluid is a wise decision although the mechanic said there was no "need" to. Will do this tomorrow.

I would have started it and ridden it but I was in my hometown just before lockdown and couldn't go back. So, my bike was lying idle in Pune all this while. Thankfully, I had covered it and despite heavy rains, nothing major (rust, especially) happened although it was parked outside.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            Hello folks!

I have been facing a issue with my CBR recently. The battery suddenly got discharged two days back. The bike did not crank in the morning.Got it charged from a nearby battery
shop. Fixed it back and the bike started in the first crank.
Everything was good until I noticed battery draining again today as the bike does not start at the first crank and even if it starts the rpm struggles for sometime and then comes at a stable 1.4-1.5k. The engine check light also lights up for 3-4 seconds after the engine has started. After all this drama the bike behaves normally.

This starting issue happed three days back and the battery was down the next morning. I think that the battery will be down tomorrow morning as well. Let’s see.
I have been using the bike regularly and it was not parked for a long time. The battery is 27 months old still in pro-rata warranty.ODO is at 46500 odd kms. Service was done 2 weeks back which included spark plug and fuel filter change apart from regular stuff.

Could anyone shed some light as to what could be the issue?

            Thank you!

You would need to diagnose where the issue is coming from ? is it just that the battery is getting weak or there is some leakage in electrical circuit.

For battery health, if you have multimeter, you can do a quick check . if you dont have one , i would suggest you to keep one and it doesn't cost much.

              1. Connect the multimeter red to positive terminal of battery and the black to negative . Check the voltage and if it is higher than 12.4/12.3 V , you battery should be good. If it less than 12.2 v then battery is starting to get bad and anything below 12 Vis a dead battery
              2. Start the engine and the voltage should reach around 13 ( +/- 0.4) . It can even reach 14 if you rev the engine hard. If this works, then the charging system seems to be good.
              3. Crank the engine and if the battery does not regain the voltage after cranking higher than 12.4V, the battery is starting is not able to retain charge and need a replacement.

If you have a good battery, then there could be current leakage from faulty component. I had a issue where the fan relay failed and the fan was running even after the ignition is off. The fan relay failure is not very rare

If you are not able to conclude then you might have to take a motorcycle electrician

I've bought new clipons of Apache 200 from a TVS service center to raise the height of cbr250 handlebar and I plan to DIY.

Can someone / @Pavithranmt please advise whether I can fit the stock bar end weights of cbr250 or do I need bar end weights of Apache 200. Which are better in your experience.

Do I also need Honda CB Shine clutch cable?

I've got the Apache 200 clip ons installed on my CBR 250ABS by my trusted mechanic.

He's routed the stock clutch cable without any issue. But I'm facing issue with brake hose and accelerator cables. The Brake hose and accelerator cables are re-routed between the right fork pipe and right fairing which cause them to rub badly against the right fairing when I turn the handle to right. Also the brake hose seems to be under lot of tension when I lock my handle.

Can someone who has undergone this mode / @Pavithranmt please confirm your setup or share some clear pictures please. How are the above cables routed in your case?

                      Many thanks in advance

Turns out that the battery is weak.

Checked the voltage while keeping the engine on... shows 14.2 volts. So the charging system is working fine.

Turned on the indicators and headlights simultaneously and the voltage dropped to 11.6 and then jumped back to 12.2 ish. This shows that the battery is weak.

Going for a replacement today. I have installed the exide XLTZ9 on the bike which is an upsize from the stock size. The battery is still in pro-rata warranty so I should get a good discount on the replacement battery.

In my experience exide batteries now a days do not last much. Thinking of shifting to Amaron 7ah one.

Any ideas which one is better? Amaron or Exide?

Amaron is way better than other makes. You can also try to fit in a Amaron 9AH with a little alteration to mounting place....

As sir said, go for Amaron. I am using the same for my CBR and way better than Exide. You can either stick to stock 6Ah APBTZ7L or the 9Ah one.
