I felt a stiff handlebar from the moment I changed The tyres. Seems like tyre showroom guys messed with the alignment so I realigned with a local mechanic.
But still I feel a little stiffness at times. what could be the problem, is it because of the round profile of the tyres? or will there be any other problem I should look out.
Thanks.Originally posted by Dandamudi Mohan Krishna View PostI think the Masseter are radial tires, when you switch from normal tubeless to radials you will feel bit stiffness in handling at least that was my earlier experience. One thing you can check is wheel balancing, just to make sure the tire is not carrying extra weight on one part of tire.

The stiffness one experiences when switching to new tires is because of the tire construction itself. The CBR comes with bias ply FRONT: MRF ZAPPER FY - REAR: MRF ZAPPER S. Revz is the only radial offering from MRF, the Masseters the Zappers are all bias-ply tires series of the MRF. The stiffness is because of the construction itself, bias-ply by their very design is meant to make the tire stiffer; meaning they flex less compared to a radial. You'll get used to it, don't worry. It has nothing to do with alignment or bad installation.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Though you might have got your from B7ACKTHORN, still wanted to add my experience on this. Changed my set to Michelin Radial last year and had the same feelings.Originally posted by sstherockz View PostHi, I need a help here.

I got mine serviced at Vinayak Honda, G.s Road, Guwahati. The mechanic who does my servicing goes by the name Biplab. Just don't take my name as he has asked me to keep this a little secret of his about the cheaper priced brake pads.

Bite is almost the same. A slight bit less but very usable. Won't be an issue. Give it a go.Originally posted by Rethin View PostAnd how is the bite of the brake pad(of hornet) .how it feels...?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Go to highlander at HSR, Karthik is the CBR mechanic, he would get to the root of the problem. I had a wobbling issue on my front tyre and it was later found that my conset was worn out. Try him first, furthermore he would be able to guide you to a better tyre shop.Originally posted by Satyajit Samantray View PostCan anyone suggest a trusted and good wheel alignment and balancing place in Bangalore?
I feel the balancing weights have come off my wheels and the handling has also worsened with time.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Are you talking about honda hornet 160 brake lads that fit directly into cbr250r?Originally posted by mitz View PostSure buddy, I'm not necessarily looking for alternatives at lower price at the cost of compromising the performance. I'll be upgrading to EBC pads for front this month and stock rear will last a year more so lot of time to look for upgrading alternatives for rear. Will look for reviews of Hornet rear pads as someone suggested or consider EBC rear pads as well which are sadly crazy expensive compared to stock
I am a but confused what model of hornet fit the cbr 250r abs brake pads

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Really? Am surprised how can Honda hornet brake pads fit cbr250r?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostYes, the Honda Hornet's front pad are a direct swap, the reason they're cheaper is because they aren't semi-sintered as the CBR ones, the CBR ABS brake pads are expensive owing to them being a semi-sintered setup. The non ABS rear caliper can use Pulsar 220 brake pads. For the rear though, for the CBR, I think you can check the compatibility by checking both the CBR's and Hornet's rear pad side by side. If the dimensions are the same then, we've found a cheaper alternate to the rear too. Note, both have 220 mm rotors, so the caliper "just" can be the same.

I own a CBR250R ABS and will hornet brake pads fit? My brake pads are almost worn out and will there be amy dofference in performance or amy dosadvantage to the ABS system?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
There wont be much issues to the rear, but the front stock pads for CBR ABS is semi sintered and Hornets is normal. And its still not sure if Hornets pad fits CBR. The top end Hornet(with CBS) calipers look strikingly similar to CBR 250R ABS’s calipers. I had posted pic of the same sometime back. But you have to try yourself if it actually fits. A mech did tell me it doesnt, but I am not taking any of it.Originally posted by jatints View PostReally? Am surprised how can Honda hornet brake pads fit cbr250r?

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I am currently using the Honda hornet CBS front brake pads. And it is a direct fit. Plus not much of a difference is noticed unless you are doing extreme high speeds or driving like a maniac in the city. For the high speeds, you might need to be a little more firm on the brakes than you normally would on the stock pads, also making for a tad bit of longer front end dive while under hard braking. But still it is a great alternative (and cheaper too) if you are using for everyday commutes.Originally posted by Ivin View PostThere wont be much issues to the rear, but the front stock pads for CBR ABS is semi sintered and Hornets is normal. Re: Honda CBR 250R
The caliper of the Hornet CBS is the same three piston caliper as that of CBR 250R's ABS front one. They are both exactly identical to each other. The Hornet has 276 mm front rotor and the CBR has 296 mm front rotor. The pads are a direct swap, though CBR ABS's friction material design is a little different. The CBR has a gap in between, the Hornet is continuous one without gap. The pads are a direct swap if my math is correct.Originally posted by jatints View PostReally?
