Re: Honda CBR 250R
Go for Masseter or MPSRs or the Zapper series, they offer good grip when they are pretty much warmed up. The CBR comes as stock with either the Crappigos or the MRF Zapper S rear tire and Zapper FS1 front tire. The stock MRF is a decent all rounder.Originally posted by Riddle Rao View Postsomebody please suggest tyres for CBR.stock contigo tyres done almost 15000KMs.
my daily commute is 50Kms to and fro.road is full of potholes.
however monsoon season is almost over.
i am thinking of MRF masseter or mogrip.
please suggest.
Cheers!

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Go back to the svc and check the state of the pads personally. These svc guys do a lot of illegal stuff like this where they can make marginal money.Originally posted by Riddle Rao View Postguys need help.

A genuine OEM brake pad from Honda does not wear out in 4k odd kms if you ask me. Or did you ride hard enough the last 4k kms? Are you sure if they replaced the pads in the last service at all?
Also, brake pads are wear and tear parts. Warranty is not covered for them. It's better to be at the svc while your bike is getting serviced to avoid issues like these.Honda Dio [2010 - 2011]

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Pads have a minimum life of at least 8 to 10k. Especially on the CBR, if you're on the ABS version, the minimum life is upwards of 18k plus solid. The non-ABS too does have a good life of around 8k to 10k as minimum, so it's highly unlikely a pad can be worn so easily at such less KM. Secondly, check your pads for wear indicators. Your pads will have wear indicator lines on them. If those lines are not visible then your pads are worn and are to be replaced, if you have lines visible then you have a good pad.Originally posted by Riddle Rao View Postguys need help.

Here's a rough diagram of how to inspect for pad wear.
In fact, it is given in the owners manual itself on how to check for pad wear on the CBR.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
if you 'leave' the bike at the svc, they will make you change the pads and maybe even rotor at every service.Originally posted by Riddle Rao View Postguys need help.

you need to understand how to check and understand brake pad wear , otherwise you will get ripped off.
it's a quick money making scam employed by many svc's..honda being most notorious for it.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Guys I am facing this issue of intermittent ignition failure. This mostly happens after brief stops at traffic signals, bike just refuses to start. If I keep on cranking, the battery seems to drain and then if I wait for a few minutes and try, surprisingly it starts.
Today morning I tested battery with multimeter. In cold condition battery voltage was 12.65v. When I cranked it, the load test voltage was 10v but it didn’t start. As I kept on cranking(around 15 attempts) the load test voltage kept on decreasing and reached 6v in last attempt. Mind you that I turned off ignition in between and waited.
Then after a few minutes I again tried and it started. Battery voltage at idle was 14.1v.
Is this an issue with battery or something else ? I am using 3.5 years old exide xltz7 battery.
Another issue I am facing is that when I ride in traffic where brakes are frequently used, the rear wheel tends to jam.
Once it happened that rear brake failed and the brake lever was going all the way down without any resistance.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
it is not an issue with the battery.. if you keep cranking continuously, the battery voltage will indeed drop.. and if you continue this, you battery might die a premature death.Originally posted by nomad_sachin View PostGuys I am facing this issue of intermittent ignition failure. pl check the ignition coil, spark plug/wire connections. and if you crank continuously, the engine might flood with fuel and cause starting trouble. if the vehicle is cranking and the voltages as you specified, the battery is perfectly fine. the problem lies either with fueling or spark and maybe compression (like bad valve clearances or sticky valves)
also maybe try to start the bike with the fuel tank open.. maybe the fuel pump developed an air lock/vaccum. recently i took my duke out after 2 weeks of not using it, and there was a wheezing sound every time the throttle was opened.. i was curious and checked around, even opened air filter box to check for any obstruction.. but finally decided to open the tank and try.. and viola that sound was gone once i opened the tank and closed it back.Last edited by s1d; 09-08-2019, 08:22 PM.
