    The difference probably is due to the one costing 700 is ideally for CB Hornet 160 ABS front and it is ceramic. Where as the original one for CBR costing 2000+ is Sintered.
    the Nikavi ones are exceptionally low priced and are being claimed as Sintered. That's why I am waiting for confirmation on how they actually are.

    Yet to hear back from Nikavi on email. They never pick up phone calls.

      The part no i have mentioned are for CBR only. And the part no and price updated after 2015 model which also have Combined ABS. HORNET have different brake pads (same design non-sintered)and PART NO: 06455K43911 for CBS (COMBINED BRAKING SYSTEM) model.

      NOTE: I am using the Brake pads with new part number(Golden colour). Whereas Hornet brake pads are not sintered and are in Black colour i think.

        Thanks man, then this 700 one would be my 2nd option if I don't get any response from Nikavi or any review until my existing pads wear out. The only problem is the service center near my place only has the one costing 2.2k. So I will need to go to a different service center for the one costing 700.

          I have no idea that why HONDA still have old brake pads on sell when all C-ABS model have same brake pads.

          When you give a visit to service center dont disclose your vehicle model or year. Just tell them the part number take your old brake pads as sample so you can make sure they are same.

          By the way where do you live?

            I Could have send you the brakes pads by courier if you where living near my city. By the way where do you live?
            Mumbai. There are plenty of Honda ASC here but the one closest to me "Sai Point Honda" only has the 2.2k front pad.
            Will visit the other ASC and see if they have the specific numbered pad you mentioned.

              I was just checking out an Indian youtuber with CBR250R. And something I saw and heard caught me by surprise. He was talking about low speeds on higher gears leading to better mileage (which made sense) but what didn't make sense to me was that how he was able to ride the bike at 50kmph speed on 6th gear. It has been almost 10 years I have my CBR and since day 1 till now, I haven't been able to ride it below 70kmph speed on 6th gear. It "lugs" at any speeds below 70 on 6th gear. In fact I never prefer 6th gear unless I cross 80kmph on highways.

              My question is, are you guys able to ride the bike at 6th gear at such low speeds of 50kmph ?

              Either ways, what is the "minimum comfortable speed without lugging" on your cbr250r at 6th gear ?

                I do not know the "minimum comfortable speed" in 6th gear. In my regular riding, I usually downshift to 5th below 75 kph. One day, I was cruising between 70-80 kph in 6th when there was little fuel (1 bar) and the nearest petrol pump was 40 kms away. There was no lugging at all. However, 50 kph in 6th gear sounds a bit extreme.

                For me, downshifting (and throttle blipping) to get into the appropriate gear has become second nature, especially when I'm on the highway. I don't even think about it anymore. For extracting maximum mileage, I believe in smooth throttle/brake inputs, upshifting/downshifting appropriately, i.e. neither over-revving nor lugging and cruising around 5000 rpms.

                  I just went out and rode the bike at 50 kph in 6th gear. RPMs were around 3100-3200 but the bike could pull comfortably from that speed, although with a slight hint of lugging. Definitely didn't feel natural to ride at 50 kph in 6th.

                  • Thanks Siddhant. For me, it lugs more than "slightly" below 70 kmph (~4.4k RPM) and literally impossible below 60kmph (~3.8k RPM). Anyway, probably I shouldn't lose sleep over this issue much as I generally don't ride at that low speeds on 6th gear. Just wanted to confirm because it was shocking to see some able to comfortably ride at 50-55 on 6th gear.

                    • Also, from your profile pic it seems you have the BS4 or 2017+ version. Maybe it is tuned slightly different. Mine is October 2011 manufactured BS3 variant.

                        Yes, I have the 2018 version. As far as I know, there were no changes to the engine. The main changes were LED headlights, ABS instead of C-ABS and paint scheme.

                        The "earth wire mod" described in shv18 's thread https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/general...honda-cbr-250r helps improving the low end torque of the bike. Lot of people got it done and could feel the difference. Maybe you could give that a try if not done already.

                        • Hey siddhant and Ratan Prabhu ever since I brought mine in 2018 which was 2012 model, I was able to engage 6th gear in 57-58kmph speed but to keep the bike away from the from lugging I need to maintain the speed above 60kmph.
                          But when I replaced the Chain kit(Rolon) And adjusted the chain slag to factory spec now I am able to engage 6th in around 52-53kmph speed and to avoid lugging I just need to maintain the speed above 55-56kmph which is really helpful in city riding.
                          And All the CBR250R from 2011 onwards are has MC41 machines means no change in the engine.

                          • I tried purposely to shift to 6th gear at 55-60 speeds yesterday on an empty stretch of road. I had to keep good control over the clutch and give mild acceleration to ensure the revs built up. (Also, my sprockets are fine, chain is cleaned and lubed every 1.5k kms)

                            Conclusion - it is a hassle to keep good control over clutch to ensure less lugging. So I'd rather switch to 6th gear only after 75/80 kmph as that is the only speed where it feels natural. Anything below that feels weird.

                            But surely I would try the earth wire mod from Shiv's post. Spent good few days going through the entire discussion from start to end. Amazing information there.

                            • Has anyone noticed drop in oil level when on a tour. I recently went on a tour in gujarat, total kms were covered 2300 kms in 7 days. I noticed drop in oil around 100-150ml. Dont see any kind of smoke coming from exhaust, neither there is any leakage of oil.

                                Yes, this is a common occurence with CBR 250R at least. Happened with me irrespective of the engine oil I used (Honda OEM or Shell Ultra Advanced). Like aargee has mentioned before, you need to keep topping up every 800-1000 kms. In my case, I usually top up with around 50-60 mL every 1000 kms and couple this with the chain lubing task. If you follow this method, you should be able to get 6000 km mileage from your engine oil, as mentioned in the manual.
