Re: Honda CBR 250R
Most of the Hondas had a 10w40 abroad or a 20w40 in india recommended before every Honda and TVS shifted to 10w30. Shift to 10w30 is for engines with tight tolerances, for better mileage and lower emissions. Honda recommended 20w50 for the Unicorn 150 engine in Peru, IIRC. It will be interesting to note that Bajaj recommends 10w40 in their vehicles sold in Russia.Originally posted by #bpk View PostIs Rimula. available in 10w 30 grade
Rimula 15w40 will not 'damage' your Hornet's engine in anyway. In fact, it will provide slightly better protection at cruise speeds.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
For Hornet, do try the Honda Throttle FS which Honda uses for CBR250R. It should work good.Originally posted by #bpk View PostSuggest me a 10w 30 grade , so that i can use it without fear [emoji33]of engine damageRide, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It shouldnt do any damage! But the thing is! R4 is a diesel engine oil and it hasnt been tried or tested on the Hornet engine which is why i am saying! It shouldn’t be a problem thoughOriginally posted by ashwanth.r View PostMost of the Hondas had a 10w40 abroad or a 20w40 in india recommended before every Honda and TVS shifted to 10w30. - that was for him as he thought a xW-40 will damage the engine.
Bpk's vehicle is pretty new. At when can one shift to FS ?Originally posted by Ivin View PostFor Hornet, do try the Honda Throttle FS which Honda uses for CBR250R. It should work good.

Anytime you want. Tomorrow or after 5k kms as superstitious believers. I am not one of them and you can use FS right from day 1 as I have done to all my motorcycles and cars.Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostBpk's vehicle is pretty new. Re: Honda CBR 250R
Hi Ivin i have completed 1000 kilometers , today, the problem is that after the engine is heated up, its smoothness goes down and the engine doesn't want to rev. Can i use motul 7100, 10w 40Originally posted by Ivin View PostAnytime you want. Tomorrow or after 5k kms as superstitious believers. When i used FS in my zmr, the clutch started slipping! There was oil leaking as well! Heard it was due to the easy penetration power of Fs oil and they arent meant or required for small capacity engines!! My ZMR certainly didnt like itOriginally posted by Ivin View PostAnytime you want. Tomorrow or after 5k kms as superstitious believers. That can happen as well. Thats why I suggested Honda throttle. Its loses its properties within 2k-3k kms anyway.Originally posted by rreneav1987 View PostWhen i used FS in my zmr, the clutch started slipping! There was oil leaking as well!
