Also periodically tighten the battery lead bolts. Mine got loose last month. Everything worked except starter motor. Whenever I tried to start I heard a "chick" noise and the console turned off.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View Post

Observe the issue for a week. Frequent blown fuses would mean, we have a short somewhere. Hoping all stays good. Ride safe.Originally posted by sanjaynk15 View PostGot it guys! Don't know how i missed the blown fuse lst time! Replaced it and everything came back on! Sigh! Sorry for the trouble guys. I had to double-check before posting. Anyways thanks a lot for suggestions buddies! Ride safe!
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Nobody who cares about the bike he owns would do only 6000 Kms in 6 years. It should be 18,000 kms atleast. Thoroughly check the bike at a trusted mechanic or Honda SVC.Originally posted by grv_rider View PostIs it a wise decision to buy a 6 years old CBR250R C-ABS that is only 6600 KMS ridden for 80K.
My main concern is about availability of parts and service.

I believe they might have back clocked the odo reading or changed the speedo console!
Also check the tire! Is it the stock tire or they have changed it! Also check for the wear of tires! Apart from that, check the sprocket condition and the brake pads! A less used bike would not have these parts worn out!
My Ninja 250 had stock IRC tires with very lot of grip left! No one would buy IRC tire which costs 10k each to sell a bike [emoji28]
It had clocked just 10k on the odo when i took ownership!!Splendor - 2k to 2006

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Check if petrol tank is rusted/contaminated with water. Ride the bike hard and see if there is any jerks in acceleration.Originally posted by grv_rider View PostI have done all the cross checks.. Its of an NRI. Totally ridden 6600. Now my question is whether should I go for a 6 years old bike though its asking price is 80K?

Then it doesnt really matter! You can go for it! Try to negotiate a little more. You will have to change the tires. Service the bike. When was the last oil change done? I hope you had a test ride of the bike. Try to test ride a couple of more CBRs (used bikes) and compare your experience with this bike and other CBRs! You will get to know the condition!Originally posted by grv_rider View PostI have done all the cross checks.. Its of an NRI. Totally ridden 6600. Re: Honda CBR 250R
5 years and 25k kms update ! Posting after a long long time
I took it off a guy last September , with the odo at a little less than 10k. I have completed around 15k kms in 10 months at present.
Engine still running butter smooth, absolute gem. One fine morning last month, the bike gave up in the middle of nowhere. Meter would come on, but it wont start, fuses all good and every wire looked fine, so it had to be the battery. Push started it alone(the easiest bike to push start that I have ever come across) and went home. After checking voltage, it was evident that the battery wasn't getting charged while running. So it has to be the alternator or magnetic coil or whatever it is called. Changed it, changed the battery too along as it was still stock and was showing its age. Changed the cone-set as well, but it has gone kaput in less than a month again. Maybe its time for tapered bearings thanks to non-existent Bangalore roads. Till date, I have used only Honda Throttle oil, but will change to Shell FS in the next service. I do not have any other complaints. Have changed coolant, brake oil, fork oil, washers and bushes for the brake calipers, greasing the swing-arm bush etc in the last service as it was a 5 year old motorcycle and it always good to stay clean and run that way. Gives me around 32-35kmpl in Bangalore traffic which I am really happy about. Runs on Street radials and have been only touched by Karthik at Tansi Honda
Some pics to accompany as wellLast edited by Ivin; 07-12-2018, 10:35 AM. Reason: Its the tricolor, officially called the Pearl Heron Blue ;)Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

One quick question! How many bikes in your garage? [emoji28]Originally posted by Ivin View Post5 years and 25k kms update ! Posting after a long long time
I took it off a friend last September , with the odo at a little less than 10k. he was a traveler and had little to no time to run it. I somehow made him to part ways with it and I have completed around 15k kms in 10 months at present.

Well officially at the moment, only ONEOriginally posted by rreneav1987 View PostOne quick question! How many bikes in your garage? [emoji28]
. The covered one is an R3, which happens to be a friends who travel abroad always and he gives it to me to use it. Ninja is sold, scooter is still there. A 6 year old Yamaha Ray which still runs strong, but to me, it doesn't qualify as a bike

Re: Honda CBR 250R
That I did.. acceleration was smooth and linear.. no jerks upto 70 kmph as I could not do more because of traffic.Originally posted by leech View PostCheck if petrol tank is rusted/contaminated with water. Ride the bike hard and see if there is any jerks in acceleration.
