I have some engine noise issues and the bike is running hard with problems like hard shifting and bike getting shut while riding
I dont run my bike daily its like 2 kms a week only on sundays
So want a proper engineer for all the work
Would it be good to visit parekh honda?

Should be fine I guess. Get them to diagnose first and check if they have the parts needed for repair (if any) in stock.

That will save u unnecessarily leaving the bike there for a long period.
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

Hello! I brought a CBR 250R from 2011. The bike has done only 8733 Kms till now. I’m really concerned about the fuel economy.

After a lot of reading, I expected it to be 30-35 Kmpl. However, I’m getting really low numbers i.e 20-21 KMpl. After the bike was brought, every filter and oil was changed from the service center. It went 208 KM in a full tank before the last bar started blinking again.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Ankit FE depends on your riding style
Have a look at this video you will have better understanding

If the bike was used very roughly without maintaining the engine also can affect your FE

Tagging psr sir.

There is nothing that can be done, remove all the nuts and bolts rusted, give it a thorough de-rusting process, get it chromed or use galvanized bolts.

Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

THE END

A 2011 CBR run only 8000kms... It's very shady...
I am saying this cause I own one from the 2011 batch. 9 years and still going strong.

I believe the speedometer of your bike has been replaced/ reset few months before you bought it. I know this because once or twice the SVC mechanic had to disconnect wires of my bike's speedometer to look at some rattling issue from the front dome.

Also I think it would be best if you take it SVC and overhaul once just as a precautionary measure.

You can ask the previous owner where he used to get it serviced and enquire over there about all the works carried out by your previous owner and look for all the parts changed or any other issues the bike came in with.

As for mileage, if the vehicle was driven very hard previously it can give give you less than 25kmpl. I know this cause a person I came across in HYDERABAD used to get below 20kmpl.

As for me I use the throttle and brakes lightly. In the early years of riding I used to get 35- 38 kmpl easily.

Then again over the years I noticed switching to Michelin Pilot street radials reduced the mileage to around 30- 32kmpl.

Maybe flashing the ECU will erase what it learnt previously and tune to your riding. This should help a little bit but not by much.

I hope this helps.

Nothing can be done if the rust had already formed. . If you have time on hand and a lot of elbow grease, then you can take out the larher parts first, clean them with de-rust spray or liquid, or use circular wire brush on a drill to clean it. Then apply metal primer, let it heal properly, then can spray with paint...Alternatively all the parts may be taken out and given for Nickel /chromium plating. But be informed rusting is a natural reaction with iron and so will happen on other parts later ...
If you get large quantity of parts to be done then Nickel plating is the way to go. insist on first copper plating BEFORE Nickel plating ,since it will ensure long life without rusting..
Good Luck.

The meter reading is real. Actually he is a childhood friend, he used the bike for a year but after his brother died in a car accident (God rest his soul), he stopped using the bike.

I consulted the head mechanic in the SVC, after running the tank dry, I filled it again. Now the mileage seems to be in 30s. I guess it was because the bike wasn’t used for a long time.

Will update the actual stats once the tank is empty.

Thanks a lot for help. Cheers

The head bolts and other engine part annexing nuts and bolts cannot be taken out without causing leak like you said..In such cases, either spray antirust , when engine is cool. wait for 10 minutes, and then clean it up. Get hold of Zinc paint and spray on the nuts to keep rust away for some time. When rust forms, the outer layer of the material is pitted and so needs thorough cleaning, and needs either plating or painting. So if the job of cleaning cannot be done without removing the part , best is to do as I suggested. Also afterwards periodic cleaning and application of a little clean engine oil will keep rust to a minimum. Find out if you can get ZINC plating done , if you are ok with a dull finish, as it lasts longer than Nickel plating and also protects the surface better.
Good Luck.

Plating cost will depend on the size and number of parts given for the work. If it is minimal then you have to wait for the time when the Plating works guy accepts it to do along with some other order. If the quantity is high or includes larger part then the Plating Works guy will accept it and charges will have to be bargained...
So if the parts count is less , and includes only nuts and bolts ,then you are better off buying and fitting new ones..
Try to get Zinc plating done if you do not mind the slightly dull finish, since ZINC resists corrosion better.
Good Luck.
