Make sure you replace all the fluids, brake, engine and radiator fluids after you purchase irrespective of the previous history.

Make sure you check the life of brake pads, which would mean you can bargain a couple of thousand bucks appropriately.

These are primary objectives. Check the PDI thread for more tips.

    Good luck.

Went to check the bike. Everything seemed perfect like new amaron battery, new Michelin tyres, rolon gold chain kit etc. But as soon as I started the bike white smoke was coming out when kept in idle for warmup. I gave it a little rev till 5k rpm and more white smoke came out. I looked at the owner and asked why didn't he mention about this earlier to which he arrogantly said that I'm lucky to get a cbr at this price. Felt like smashing his head. So the search for a used cbr continues.

Yup see, just as I mentioned. It's a red flag, meaning, you have either bust rings, valve seals, basically another engine job after you get the bike. Keep looking.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      THE END

Hello guys! I have a friend who is selling his CBR 250 for 40k. The bike has only 11k on the odometer.

However, the bike is from 2011. It’s a standard non Abs model.

The said friend brought the bike in 2011 and was used for a year or so. After that, the bike is just standing there. He met with an accident with a friend on another bike.

Is this a good deal? Should i go for it at this price?

        Thanks in advance.

I think it is. However get an able mech to have a look at it and get it started first before u finalize anything
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle!

Sure bro. Any particular things to notice while the mechanic checks the bike?

If it hasn't been started in all this while. The tank fuel pump, air filter, oil, battery, fuel filter etc will need to be cleaned( fuel tank and fuel pump) or replaced (battery and filters and oil and coolant)

The tyres may have developed cracks due to lying unused with no air in them for so long

Should take a couple of hours to do but will get the bike back running before u make a call based on the final outcome

I brought the bike today. The battery was changed, new engine oil and coolant. Apart from that, disc pads and brake fluid was changed.

After three rounds of complete cleaning, the bikes looks as good as new. I’ll update the pictures soon.

                Thanks for the help🙂

Hey guys Just wanted know if anyone else has experience using motul 300v 10w40. I am using this oil because I basically get it free of cost, as we have a good amount which was used for the Gixxer 150 and 250 one make . Bike is running fine honestly , and my bike has a full system, air filter and a ecu aswell soo I kept. Should I stick to it or switch To a slightly different oil if the same grade like 7100 or liqui moly or idemitsu of that sort . Just wanted a opinion and experiences shared of anyone else using this oil. The main reason I'm using it as I get it for free literally [emoji28].

if you don't face any issues you can continue using it since you are anyway not paying for it.. just replace it around 3k km . the 300v is not designed for longer drain intervals like the 7100, which can easily last 6k km. whenever you run out of the 300v you can switch to 7100.

Motul 300v is really good oil. I wish I was getting it for free [emoji16]. A nice detailed video on its performance

Yesterday did heavy off roading with my CBR. Being an amateur at off roading, I damaged the clutch. Bike was only running in btwn 3000-4000 rpm. Rest it was only accelerating but bike wasn't moving. Called my mechanic n he advised me to loose the clutch cable to run bike normally & I could reach home.
Mostly clutch plates r damaged n may be replaced. What would be the cost of it ?

Try the parekh honda SVC in goregaon. They get basic stuff done decently enough. They have a guy there who works on the cbrs

Engine work etc. I haven't tried.

All SVCs always have Cbr250r part issues so plz call and confirm before u go [emoji482]
