Any leads on alternative front brake pads? Many suggested me to go for p220 rear brake pads which is a direct fit for the ceeber, wondering if any one has checked the size of rs200 front brake pads n front Honda ones. Many said that the Honda ones which are highly priced , the pulsar 220 ones are cheaper and last longer and offer better bite... Would like to know your experiences.

Does he have proper torque wrenches and required tools as the engine head needs to be opened.
If he is getting on with ring spanners then its a strict nono.
I am located in pimple saudagar, pune.

Sanjay

No idea about him having torque wrenches, but any SVC , even they though have that never use it.Originally posted by sanjaysangar1990 View PostDoes he have proper torque wrenches and required tools as the engine head needs to be opened.

He is old school mechanic relying upon his experience and spanners.
Though you can buy a torque wrench and ask him to use it . It will serve you life long as well

vihaan Honda in Thane (Maharashtra) uses proper tools and earlier I was setted up in Mumbai only. so going there was easy.
Now I work here in pune and I cannot go to Mumbai for all these jobs. Hence I am looking for a decent SVC in pune. so I can have peace of mind the same way I was having when the bike was getting serviced in Vihaan Honda Thane.
Cheers,
Sanjay

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Yeah.. Thinking of going to svc next week..Originally posted by arvstreetracer View PostGet it replaced ASAP. Lucky that its not the guide B which tensions the chain (tensioner side). It has not broken completely yet. It might be the reason of noise (loose chain). Let us know the outcome after replacing it. I will also check the same.
Thank you!
Although they are stupid as fcuk and quite reluctant to do any such job.
Make dumb excuses like there's nothing wrong. It like that only..
Even for this job they are asking me to leave bike for 3 4 days..
And frankly speaking they are not trustworthy.
I have faced consequences of leaving my bike there previouslyBurn the rubber, they said
it would be fun, they said

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Had a mix-up today. Reached the Service center by 9 am, I was told that bike would be delivered only by Friday as they still have 2 bikes which got affected due to Chennai flood, and they need to clear it by this weekOriginally posted by Iam_Hoodi_CBR View PostCalled JSP Honda(Aminjikarai, Chennai), Booked the appointment on Wednesday. Rajesh is the CBR technician there, He suggested to keep the battery disconnected and suspected a faulty Relay of the radiator fan. Keeping fingers crossed until I Wednesday.
This means that the Radiator is connected always to the battery via a relay, irrespective of the ignition key status. This looks like either the cooling of the engine is given utmost importance or they forgot to include the connection via ignition switch.
This triggers another question to me, How come that about 95% of the time the fan is switched off when we kill the engine via Engine kill switch if the fan is connected directly to the battery

Will update you guys after the service.
Ram.
.
Good thing is that now my radiator fan is not running when engine kill switch is in off position
. But another issue cropped up. The speedometer reading is going mad if I cross 7.5K rpm
. it showing all readings from single digit to triple digit, not sure if its affecting the odometer readings.
The CBR technician said that, it should be due to a faulty relay so I need to get the all the electrical checked in the next service. Its scheduled on next Wednesday
keeping my fingers crossed that it should not be a big fault..
OT: Thanks to aargee, Rajesh is having his hands full of CBR's to work on

As suspected its the relay. as of now get it changed and see if this happens.I think changing the relay should fix the issue.you might not have to check the entire wiring of the motorcycleOriginally posted by Iam_Hoodi_CBR View PostHad a mix-up today. Does a faulty relay result in flickering of LED's in console? I am experiencing LED flickering for the first 10mins of riding, then it becomes fine.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostAs suspected its the relay. as of now get it changed and see if this happens.I think changing the relay should fix the issue.you might not have to check the entire wiring of the motorcycle

Re: Honda CBR 250R
That's probably the LED's dying and yes that's how they look before dying.Originally posted by Sergeant_DawG View PostDoes a faulty relay result in flickering of LED's in console? I am experiencing LED flickering for the first 10mins of riding, then it becomes fine.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
It might be coz of the relay. If it was dying it wouldnt stop flickering. It is not getting adequate charge due to faulty relay. You can rep;lace the relay and the see how it works as it would instantly stop the flickering once the battery is properly charged. It takes 15-20 mins to swap the relayOriginally posted by Sergeant_DawG View PostActually I had replaced the console and clocked only 2.8km in the new one. Do they fail very soon?
