Changing oil early is not a magic wand that will guard your engine from all damage.

In fact, two senior riders, aargee and one other guy crossed 1 lakh kms on their CBRs, and they reported oil change intervals from 8k to 16k!

This is conclusive proof for me that sticking to the manufacturer recommended oil change intervals is more than enough.

The interval you've specified is from another planet types, the oil change recommended period is 5-6k by the SVC and I change it at 3000-3500, by characteristics of the oil like burnt smell, colour, viscosity, etc. It completely comes down to the usage of person and the way his revving pattern, that's just my view, but 8-16k is like is he using super super full synthetic oil or something? :|

I for one never had a PUC check done for my vehicles but hoping that I will not make things worse.

With Shell 10W40 Fully Synthetic oil, its NEAR to 8K; but I wouldn't dare to do it again; the engine oil level needs to be checked & topped up after 4K & hence by the time you reach NEAR to 8K, I would've topped about 400 ml in total. Personally, its utter waste of my time & an headache to keep checking the level every now & then, so I prefer changing at 6K & with Shell, its assured 6K interval.

As if this doesn't happen in Cyberabad, Bangalore, Jaipur, OR, Kolkatta, UP (Whole of UP where one can witness accident that has happened a second ago, a minute ago, a day ago, a week ago, a month ago & an year ago), HR. No, I'm not going to talk about the road rage in DL; reminds me of Rajnikanth's dialogue in old movie Panakkaran on match stick!!

CCTP does a better job than BTP or AP TP, that's what I've EXPERIENCED. There're better things to see such as the traffic flow management, most people on road give some respect to traffic signal much unlike few other states.

Saar...like I said this is the nation's problem & Chennai obviously is in India; if you still expect, then its like expecting a P220 do be doing 220 Kmph just because the engine capacity is 220cc!!

Friends no one replied to my previous query. My question was about mod of front mudguard/retrofitting mudguard of some other brand.During rains it becomes an daunting affair to keep the bike clean esp the engine areas as it becomes difficult to reach with the presence of fairings.

Planning for an aftermarket slip-on. Any suggestions in Chennai?
I used Leo Vince GP Corsa slip-on for 2 months, and then switched back to stock as it was too loud!

                                Hey Guys,

My bike finally got delivered today:

Initially I planned to get a ninja or R3 but my budget got cut down and then after reading hundreds of reviews I decided to get a CBR250.
I am pretty happy with my decision.
By the way I noticed that they have putting MRFs on the new bikes, that is the only thing I was concerned about.
Can't wait to take it out tomorrow.
I am very grateful for all the info I got on this thread.

                                Thank you everyone.
