Re: Honda CBR 250R
The same thing is happening with my bike also , during sudden decelaration bike suddenly leave a breath and dies .Originally posted by leech View PostIs it near middle or bottom? Reason I ask is, whenever the oil level is low or middle level in my bike, it starts shutting off randomly when clutch is pulled in
I have done earth wire mod too , that also did not help the cause . So I left searching more as it seems a common issue in CBR , I'll be more than happy if we are able to find a solution .>>>>Beware of Zombies<<<<

Re: Honda CBR 250R
I haven't done the earth wire mod because I know this isn't an electrical problem. If it was, the vehicle would shut down during acceleration also. But it never does, in my bike.Originally posted by D.j View PostThe same thing is happening with my bike also , during sudden decelaration bike suddenly leave a breath and dies .

Today it happened twice as I was gonna take a u turn. I toggled the kill switch off and on before starting the bike again, otherwise once it goes off it keeps shutting off each time you turn it on.
I went home and checked the oil level, yep, was low. So I topped it up till the upper level mark on the window. Didnt stall again today. Try it guys, and report back if it works in your bike.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Listened the audio. It's more of a tappet noise. Get your valve clearances done. You would need SHIM replacement.Originally posted by hgps View PostGuys,
Please listen to this engine noise (taken from 3-4 ft distance. I have given the bike to service center to rectify this noise and they have estimated 10k "PLUS" amount. Said timing chain, tensioner and cylinder head is needed to be reworked (rocker arm adjustment). They said shim replacement isn't required.
Am i being duped here? because i though that noise is coming from loose valves or something.
My bike is 2.5 years old with 30,275 km on odo.

The noise is not from timing chain for sure. You may replace the CCT to check if it helps - costs 478 INR.
Believe me or not, CBR timing chain is not going to give up within 30k km or so if you have maintained regular service schedules.
Get it checked at another SVC to have second opinion and let's know the findings.-----

Also thoroughly clean your throttle body, clean your injectors, air filter.Originally posted by D.j View PostThe same thing is happening with my bike also , during sudden decelaration bike suddenly leave a breath and dies .

If needed do a ecu remapping from ASC for adjusting AFM. And as suggested check your bike's CCT and timing chain.
How many kms have been covered and engine oil used in past and service intervals. Any previous major issue faced. Its not the Bike that makes a Biker perfect, its a Biker who makes his Bike perfect :)

My bike is 2017 lot March and so far I have covered 15000kms .Originally posted by alliwanted View PostAlso thoroughly clean your throttle body, clean your injectors, air filter.

All service on time and oil change at every 3k kms , major work is shim clearance check and adjusted at 11500kms , I insisted the mechanic to open and check foe clearances as they were reluctant about it .
Two reasons I asked for it , One - it is never checked since day 1 .
2nd - I was kind of hearing some noise which is not normal for the bike .
And found it to be increased by 3-5 mm
After that , whever I start the bike in morning rpm needle fluactuate say in a range of 200-300rpm , so I went to SVC and asked if this is indeed a problem , they told me that if fluctuations are more than 500rpm then it is a problem , I asked them for injector cleaning they said not required for this bike .
SVC is Ganpati Honda at sector 14 Gurugram.
Air filter is good I replaced it at 12k kms .
I will push for throttle Body cleaning , ECU remap and Injector cleaning , though I know it is hard and we have to really push the SVC people to make them work on problems .
Thanks for the pointers [emoji5][emoji106]
Also can you give me some brief about ECU remap , how it is done , will I loose the Odo counter post that ?
Also I am planning a Ladakh trip in June , so I will go to Malwa Honda this time as I don't trust the current SVC for a through inspection.>>>>Beware of Zombies<<<<

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Ecu remapping, I am not sure as I haven't done on my bike but it might help. But keep it as a last choice, don't force for that.
Fuel injector & throttle body cleaning can be done easily and you can force for that. Use Wurth injector cleaner, they are very good.
Regarding rpm fluctuation, on cold start up it will go to 2K rpm and then settle down to 1.5K rpm (idle rpm) and some time it will go below also, in case of that just wait for it to settle down at idle rpm. And that is normal. Give proper time for your bike to warm up spread engine oil to all necessary components to be lubricated. Don't practice to start bike and move on the go. Let it achieve idle temperature (i.e. Two bars on temp. And then ride for first few kms normally and then push it.) It will surely help in long run.
Find trusted mechanic in your area or try throttle shrolle, Delhi-gurgaon. You can ask in Delhi-gurgaon G2G thread regarding good mechanics.
Before going to Ladakh trip, spend some time and clean your entire bike and lube & top up every liquid required to be rest assured. Also carry extra clutch cable with you. Spray wd40 on each lock set, all bolts, rust infected areas.
Atleast with cbr 250r you don't have to take serious tension about reliability, gizmo's dazzling in middle of nowhere, parts breaking up or any other sort of problems. Only thing I think will matter is seat and riding position and fuel tank. Other than that the power delivery and response is enough and stable for a trip to ladakh. I am also planning a trip but later next year.

Re: Honda CBR 250R
Have done from both Aditya and KTC , but those were from 2011-2013. To be frank, both were pathetic back then. No idea about how its now. Both service never had even the oil filter to service.Originally posted by Varun Manoranjan View PostAnybody who had done service from Calicut (Kozhikode), Kerala?Ride, ride and ride..
