Above is the video of the smoke and it is still the same. There is a lot of oil consumption too and now a new sound has cropped up. Today it will be sent to the showroom.
Since u mention heavy oil consumption, Do you get a particular odour?
Your engine is burning Oil probably. Did you have a fall?
          Also check your coolant level

Also is that smoke only when you start her up or does it stay throughout the day?

YES ! now my friend had faced similar issue with his R15 and symptom were

1> Bike struggled to idle and also it used to take 2-4 attempts to Start

                2> Poor performance.

We checked everything but no clue finally after opening Engine head the mech tod us that some seal has gone kaput and Coolant was entering in combustion chamber . Keep an eye on Coolant .
Its not enough to know how to twist the throttle; you must have judgement to know when and where to do it.

                  I ordered it online.
Go to "ebay.com", and search for "honda cbr blank key". You'll find it.

                  • guys, i am planning to buy a CBR, so want you guys to help me out -
                    • i know earlier CBR's faced a lot of issues and honda actually recalled and replaced some faulty parts. can you guys give me a list of parts replaced so that i can check with the dealers?
                    • other than replaced parts, what other general problems were faced by you guys relating to parts.
                    • since earlier bike's had some faulty parts which were replaced by company, whether the bike's now available for sale are coming with correct parts.
                    • what is the batch details of faulty CBR's or cut-off date of manufacturing after which CBR's are coming all OK and no parts need to be replaced. and any method to verify this at dealership while selecting the bike.

To my knowledge there has been no official confirmation on revision to the CBR's from the day they have been launched. Where did you get such information?

Wait a second. There was no recall by Honda. One has to differentiate between after sales support and product recall. What Honda did was to write to all CBR owners about some upgrades to various small parts - pillion grab handles etc. (I should know; I myself got a letter from Rohan Honda signed by Mr Vargese. I spoke to him and asked him specifically if the changes were anything major. He replied in the negative; the changes were cosmetic in nature and had no bearing on the safety and integrity of the bike and if my bike was fine, no need to incorporate them) If an owner had issues with other parts, Honda, in some cases replaced these free of cost or in others, charged nominal amounts.

Various people have reported various issues. Rusting bolts and chains, RVM bolts missing/coming off. One chap reported a seized engine too but I am sure his was an extreme case and at the very extreme end of the bell curve. My bike is from the very first batch -ZERO issues, absolutely ZERO.

Is that a serious question or is it in a humorous vein? No company, least of all, a highly respected MNC like Honda, purposely puts parts into its products that it itself knows are defective

Hey man, no method other than a multimillion dollar lawsuit filed in several countries together as a class action suit is going to get you anywhere near that kind of information. To be serious, when the entity of "faulty CBR"does not exist, how can the data exist Please don't equate this issue with the Toyota throttle pedal case.

Prince, relax and don't get paranoid, man. The bike is excellent. It may not suit my needs but that does not stop me from saying that it is a complete VFM even from an arrogant company like Honda. Give the company some time to settle down - this is their very first product which has parts made in two/three different countries and shipped amongst these countries for various stages of the assembly. At times, the SCM does get f****d up.

I am sure Honda will apply Six Sigma on the CBR assembly lines pretty soon; that is if it has not already done so.

Call me at (^@$#$((^$ for a more "refreshing" personal opinion on what caused the problems, ok?

                        Regards

                        • I am also a prospective buyer and I want to buy the CBR yesterday. I am getting the same quote of Rs. 1,78,975 from all dealers in Gurgaon for the ABS version. Any tips on which Gurgaon dealer to use for the purchase and whom to use for the A.S.S?

                          Thanks!

                            • @Prince: I commute avg. Daily 60-70 kms of which 65% Highway and 35%proper city conditions with bumper to bumper traffic-women crossing/driving- need for squeezing between cars at 10km/hr- manoevouring between cars/buses/trucks kind of traffic.

The bike returns a decent 35km/L & I need to service it next after another five THOUSAND kms! I can go to leh & come back after each service!!!lol

I got my entire silencer (worth Rs.17000) changed coz i saw minor rust on tip of the silence(perfect place for water to collect) for FREE. I might frame the FOC bill! Got a synthetic oil can alongwith rear handle change and nut bolts of heavier make FOC!!!!

On the highway, you may hear a tuned yammmy/RD/220 trying super hard to catch up, but not your own bike for sure.

The ABS is a lifesaver and super recommended; the wheels do lock, but with a time lag you can feel even when you've PANICKED.

Waiting to hit the NH's !
