    Hey mate,
I felt its due to a rough chain surface from your pictures. When lubing the chain, more than number of days or km, we need to see the chain conditions itself. For example, in Bangalore 3 days is enough for my bike to be very dusty, where as in Kerala same scenario happen after 1.5-2 week. So my CBR chain I used to clean and lightly lube whenever I see its bit rough. Also you can understand this while you are driving

      Hi All,

This query is more to Bangalore friends. I am staying at kudlu gate, the Honda service centers close to me are Ananda Honda at bommanahalli and Hosa road junction. Last time (on June) I gave my bike at Hosa road one. Frankly I had a very response from them, he staffs were very friendly, they were saying they have a one good CBR mechanic who came from bommanhalli service center. But what confused me was, they haven't changed the oil filter along with oil replacement. So this time, I wanted to give to some better place where a good CBR mechanic available. Any suggestions? My jobs are, oil replacement, air and oil filter replacement, front disc pad change and need to replace the stickers on the front slide covers. ( its CBR tri color abs model)

        Hey guys..
I got my bike 3 months back and I've got some problems and really need some help
        1. I've covered 3070km on my bike and the rear brake pads are nearly zero. I was applying front brake most of the time and have no idea how this happened, and surprisingly front brake pads are still in good condition. Will I get a replacement for the rear brake pad from SC?
        2. My visor is vibrating from 3k rpm. Can I do something to get rid of this vibration..
        3. I would like to have more front end feel so can I adjust the suspension? Will it help in getting more front end feel?
        Thanking you all in advance

          1. Go to the ASC and find out what caused the B-pads to wear out. B-pads aren't covered under warranty, but if they didn't check the B-pads in pre-delivery inspection from their end, you may be able to convince them to replace them for you.
          2. Not really. Mine also vibrates between 3 and 4k rpm, but disappears after that. Maybe get the bolts tightened?
          3. You can get the front suspension oil replaced with 20w suspension oil(stock is 10w) and the fork springs tightened a little. This essentially lowers the front end of the bike noticeably, but improves the feedback from the front end by miles. Note that this changes the handling characteristics of the bike drastically, needing you to relearn to use the bike a little, but it's totally worth it. The bike becomes extremely nimble, making the previous setup feel sluggish in comparison. I did find that the bike is less willing to actually turn from moving the handlebar itself(like you would in a u-turn), but is more than willing to dip into corners(like when you counter-steer). The modification requires you to get rid of the numberplate bracket and relocate it to a different position - the most popular way is to use the FZ numberplate bracket that can be fit to the RVM base plates. I've been considering the numberplate brackets that Benelli provides with their bikes, which attaches to the front suspension - mostly because I don't like the way the FZ brackets fit onto the bike. I have to check if it's a direct fit though and affordability is another story.

Go to Tansi Honda, Varthur road, meet Karthik and get your job done. I've noticed that a lot of ASC don't stock CBR parts, but Karthik is an extremely popular and competent mechanic, whom most of Bangalore's CBR community goes to, for getting their work done. Because of this, Tansi Honda is usually well stocked with regular replacement parts. You may have to wait on the stickers though.

Thanks mate, in fact I have checked with a CBR guy in Accenture, he also suggested the same. Leaving my bike there for service and pick up later is a tough job, still I will do so. So better to call them and order the stickers, right?

If your bike is a non ABS one, you can pretty much use the Pulsar 220 Brake pads, they are a perfect match. Secondly, if you have a pad that is a goner that is completely bone dry, check your wheel alignment, check your caliper piston, how freely it engages and disengages. Improperly wheel alignment means, the wheels go off alignment, which means the rotor goes / as opposed to being | and this can cause glazing and increased pad wear. If you feel vibrations creeping from the front of the visor area, check your mirror stem bolts, check your visor cowl screws, preferably at the SVC
One thing as Madhav suggested and an effective solution is using a 20w fork oil, it's cheap it works and the front end feel is improved quite an extent from the soft, diving nature of the stock. Give it a try.

              Cheers!

Bruv, I live in Yelahanka and I ride down to Tansi Honda to get the bike checked by Karthik. The total distance I cover up and down is 70km. That's 2 litres of petrol - best case scenario. The travel time is close to 3 hours, most of which is bumper to bumper traffic. But I still will keep going there, because Karthik is that good. My suggestion? Take a day's leave or a few hours permission from office, call up Karthik, fix an appointment and stay the duration it takes to service your bike. Karthik let's you watch while he services your bike and makes for a good conversation. He follows MotoGP and supports MM93. He will tell you exactly what he's doing to your bike, if you want to hear about it. I understand this is a bit much for a working professional, but you should do this at least once. It's always good if you can build a rapport with your mechanic, especially with one as good as Karthik. You'll learn a ton in the process and make sure Karthik remembers you and your bike. When has that not benefitted a person?

And yes, you should call ahead and ask them to get the stickers. Go when the stickers come, so all your work gets done in one go.

You are talking about the Whitfield Tansi Honda right ? The one near Forum value mall. If so then even i agree. I used to get the bike serviced by Karthik there, every time i used to tag along there and watch the service being carried out.
Been servicing the bike now from Domlur now, so far i have had the best experience of service with Karthik only, out of the 4 svcs i have taken the bike to.

hey guys, from the last few days i am facing some problem with my cbr 250. whenever i am going at higher rpm like at around 6k-7k rpm i hear some rattling sound apart from the engine and i don't know what is it and it disappears when i shift to a bigger gear but it again happens in the gear i shifted when i reach the mentioned rpm .although the noice is not loud and i need to focus at it to notice it but from the time i noticed it, it is annoying me.
does anyone know what the sound may be of?

                    • Shifting to a Race/GP/Reverse Shift Pattern (CBR250)?

                      * Conventional Shift - Pull Up to Upshift / Push Down to Downshift
                      * Race/GP/Reverse Shift - Pull Up to Downshift / Push Down to Upshift

Almost all motorcycles come with conventional shift.
Changing to Reverse shift requires flipping the gear peddle linkage 180 degrees

The problem with doing this on the CBR250 is the panel/casing above the linkage that prevents the thing from being reversed
There are kits that allow you to get around this problem, but I haven't seen any in India

                      Anyone know anything about it?

                      Thanks

It could be from the console if it's a buzzing sound. If it's coin jingling sound, it's the shims. Tell us more about the sound, what type it is.

I feel the coin jingling like sound only while going though rough patches nothing on flat roads. So is it due to the shims or the chain? I had recently changed the rubber chain slider but i can see the marks of the chain slider on the chain . My bike has done only 1.4k km

The shims make sound depending on engine rpm or speed, not the road conditions. If you hear a jingling noise when going over bumps it's due to something else. Perhaps your keychain. Or a bolt/screw is loose, worst case scenario.

The chain usually makes a kachak noise, not a jingling one.

it is not coming from the console and apparently it is not bcoz of the chain as well bcoz i clean and lube it on regular basis.
and it is not bcoz of the rough patches or anything as i notice it when i am cruising on the highway.
so shall i assume that it is the shims that might me causing it?
