    Hey guys,
My speedometer is not displaying the speed of the bike, it is stucked at 0. Due to which even the KM count is not working.
I went to a SVC, was told that speed sensor is not working whose replacement will cost 2.5K and will arrive in 2 weeks.
Anyone has any idea about it? Bike is 3 yrs old and 12K KM done.

The speed sensor on the cbr is located on the crankcase, hence might involve more labor work and so higher cost.
the abs version has two additional sensors one on each wheel.

I doubt it would cost 2.5k as it's a simple sensor near gearbox (where drive sprocket is located. May be there could be labour cost more than the part cost, as they may have to open gearbox cover. Please check for the price on OEM dealer in your location.

Thanks for the reply guys. I have a non-abs version.
I checked it at Ananda Honda, bommanahalli.
Any idea which is the best SVC in bangalore?

I’ve been getting my bike serviced at Dhruvadesh Honda near Funworld Jayamahal. You can reach out to Hanumanthu - Service Advisor. He is very knowledgeable and efficient too...
I wouldn’t rate any service Center in BLR as best as there are some lazy inefficient guys. We need to catch hold of the best among the worst.

              Hi guys,
I bought this pre-owned cbr 250r and got my first service a week back. Just want to know what is that 'Service KM' mentioned on the top of invoice? Is that bike running KM? Because it definitely does not match with my bike.
Secondly, these guys charged me lot of expenses under 'OTHERS' claiming that it is for service charge, cleaning charge, etc. Is it normal?

Dude just reading that bill triggered me so hard. Go back to the SVC and ask them WTF is "Others" Tell them to write down what those are. Complain to your Service Center manager. Make a big scene.

The Service KM should be your current mileage. Make sure that bill is actually yours.

I'm curious to why you didn't pick up on them billing front and rear pad change along with pad cleaning.

Why should the pads be cleaned if they're being changed?

The prices mentioned for the parts seem to be on par, but as others have instigated and what piqued my interest is the Others and Pad Clean. What I reckon though with Others can perhaps be Brake Fluid and the likes of Pad Clean can perhaps be caliper cleaning with the consumables involved. Though it's just a speculation. I'd suggest you to get a detailed break-up of what did others include, was it hourly labor, was it fluids, making them accountable is definitely the right way to go. Do keep your observations posted.

                      Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                        Hi,
The mechanic did tell me before hand to change both the break pads as they wore out, and yes the pad clean charge is for caliper cleaning.

How can we check whether the conset is due for replacement? I lift the bike with the side stand on and moved the handle bar in both the directions. Handle bar is not moving freely. Its get kind of stuck on the center and also the low speed handling is became vague. So is my conset is due for replacement or only adjustment in needed? I changed this in 14k kms ago

Yes, absolutely. Apart from cable friction, if you clearly feel the bar movement is grabby or the handlebar isn't turning smoothly, your coneset is due for a replacement. A handlebar should swing freely from the center position to either side, if it doesn't, it means the bearings are shot. Failed coneset would also induce lateral play in the steering stem, which again is a sign of failed stem bearings. Get your coneset replaced.

                            Cheers!

Grab the outer fork and rock it to and fro, if there is play then its time for replacement.

Just realized your motorcycle lacks a main stand, so you'd have to prop it with a jack, as the front wheel needs to be off the ground to inspect the cone-set.
