The one i have seen is this one.

Not really worth it - unless you absolutely want a louder exhaust. The gains in performance are marginal. You can have a comparison with your colleague's bike and check for yourself.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. coolant temp and initial Fuel efficiency
Hi Guys,
Questions on coolant/engine? temp and fuel consumption.
1. observation -
After I start the engine and let it idle for about a minute - now temp bar is at 1.
After riding in 1-2-3 gears for about 2kms, the temp bar is at 3. The temp bar from that time onwards remains at 3 only.
What is your observation?. Please let me know.
2. For the second tank I got 25.6kmpl fuel efficiency (FE). Mostly in city riding conditions. Is that comparable with your initial FE's?.
I am asking this not from FE point of view only, but also from engine health/difference. I understand that riding style contributes to this, and
I was riding smooth for this tank.
Thanks.
yours.~shifting at 6K RPM

About The temperature bar: Its the same for me. I guess the temperature is being maintained or limited at that particular temp so that the engine wont overheat.Originally posted by kpvision View PostHi Guys,

I did a Bangalore-Chennai trip and back last weekend and was constantly going 100+ and the temp never went up higher than this.
About the FE: Right from the start i was getting a 30+ and it was all in traffic. Once i filled in from an Indian oil Bunk near Tin factory(bangalore) and i guess i got less than 25 and there were bad noises coming out.

Thanks for the info on DOT4 and the brakes. AFA steel braided lines are concerned, I think Joel has it for CBR250 but I am not sure. Surely would share it here as and when I get it done.Originally posted by Pruthviraj View PostHi there Sid85 the rear brake pads of Pulsar 220F R direct fitment for CBR std`s rear, they R for 200/- only.
I also changed to dot4 long time back, the bite is very sharp initially but after some time it looses it`s edge.
Steel braided lines I am also looking for pls share the info if anybody has got them installed on the std varient.
Thanks
Your point of not wearing a helmet is valid but I guess he is just posing for the pics and not riding. Atleast I could not find any signs of riding in the pic.Originally posted by Pruthviraj View PostSmart boy,but where is Ur helmet? It is absolutely necessery thing with any bike.
Agreed, IMO the ffe does help you much with a single cylinder. Though it amplifies the exhaust sound and yes, the bike would rev freely but no significant gain in power. FFEs are effective in twin cylinder or more engines.Originally posted by bbsrailfan View PostNot really worth it - unless you absolutely want a louder exhaust. The gains in performance are marginal. Mate, a properly designed exhaust gives beter gas flow which helps in giving extra bhp and power. It's getting that extra bhp that makes exhaust making such a complex job.Originally posted by Sid85 View PostThanks for the info on DOT4 and the brakes. Sigh so i just realized that the ASC here has been filling all the CBR's with Mineral 10W30 oil regardless of the kilometres clocked because they "Just dont stock FS" at all.
Put a suggestion slip in the suggestion box. Hopefully the manager will take a note of it. Will stick to mineral for now and switch to FS for my 4th service next month.. Gotdamn idiots.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Next time if they don't have FS in stock you can get it from outside and ask them to fill it.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostSigh so i just realized that the ASC here has been filling all the CBR's with Mineral 10W30 oil regardless of the kilometres clocked because they "Just dont stock FS" at all.

strange ....you should have realized looking at your bills for the last 3 free services, hope oil was not given free of cost by your concerned ASC.A FS oil costs around RS 550 per litre and filter costs around RS 250 and the bike needs 1.5 litre of oil so all together your bill should have been around RS 1100.If they were putting mineral oil in your bike and billing you for FS ,take them to task.Originally posted by Nithesh View PostSigh so i just realized that the ASC here has been filling all the CBR's with Mineral 10W30 oil regardless of the kilometres clocked because they "Just dont stock FS" at all.

@kpvision: The operating temperature is at 3bars. Always make sure your temp gauge shows 3 bars before you open up the engine. The 3rd bar has a wide operating range and even if the engine feels hot, but the gauge shows 3 bars, there is nothing to worry. Most of us here have never seen a "4th" bar, but if it ever shows up, there is something critically wrong - you need to visit the service center ASAP.Originally posted by kpvision View PostAfter I start the engine and let it idle for about a minute - now temp bar is at 1.

My first fuel-up yielded me 24 kpl. Gradually it improved and now I am getting a constant 29kpl in city.Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

My bills were always around 6xx for 1.6 litre so it was mineral. They never billed for FS but i dont get why they dont stock FS and fill mineral for everyoneOriginally posted by gopakumar s pillai View Poststrange ....you should have realized looking at your bills for the last 3 free services, hope oil was not given free of cost by your concerned ASC.A FS oil costs around RS 550 per litre and filter costs around RS 250 and the bike needs 1.5 litre of oil so all together your bill should have been around RS 1100.If they were putting mineral oil in your bike and billing you for FS ,take them to task.

When now FS is company recommended then why don't you get it changed yourself when your SVC don't pour FS oil? Get it changed. Have you chosen any FS oil for your bike ?Originally posted by Nithesh View PostMy bills were always around 6xx for 1.6 litre so it was mineral.
