ive been looking at the Motul 10w30 FS but i'm not sure if it would void warranty should any engine related trouble should occur *touchwood*.
      Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

how come the svc doesnt stock on the honda 10w30 FS oil! If its been happening every time, i guess you should be speaking to them to ensure this is made available or contact hmsi via email or their website feedback section. Technically you should be able to use any other brand, but i wonder if your asc will 'agree' to it.

that should have never happened.. all the ASC's have FS.. its a black bottle and as everyone stated

the free service bill should come around 13xx

oil change , filter change and chain greasing and lubing..

          filter for 230 odd
          oil for 550-600 for 1 L (x 1.5 )
          chain cleaning and lubing ( 200 )

next time ask them to drip out mineral oil completely and change to FS.. honda recommened is FS..

the mineral oil cant sustain for 6k km.... dude the engine would have gone through lot of torture already.. change asap and complain to Honda..

In CBR250 the oil to be poured is 1.6 ltr.....not 1ltr as in Yamaha bike...the Cost of Honda oil too is 504 rs...but need to add more and the cost increases to 700 + for oil only...

It wasn't for the quantity dude. I showed company recommended/own SS oil is for Rs505, Where as Honda's recommended FS oil is for 550-600. So SS is costing more in Yamaha, Where Honda has better pricing.

Some where Honda is pricing well in india.

You wouldnt believe me but everytime(every 2k interval) we drained the oil at the ASC( in my presence ) we always noticed that the oil has never changed its color and was as fresh as when it was poured in 5k kms ago. I did change on Saturday but have also put in a feedback slip into their dropbox that the SVC manager will go through once every 2 or 3 weeks so will see.. My 4th service is due next month so i'l switch to FS then. Thanks for the feedback.

Btw today when i was heading home from college i noticed oil dripping from the filter on the side(gasket issue again.. same thing happened during first oil change at the ASC) and my shoes had all the oil. Spent all afternoon sleeping at the ASC because they had to get a new gasket/filter from the nearest ASC. :/ The bike was totally covered in oil so i requested them to give her a wash free of cost as its not my fault. They agreed

Sometimes it helps to maintain a friendly relationship with the ASC folks.. the billing lady, the job card keepers and the service managers all know me well enough... so i'l see if he agrees to stock FS next time

                          • Urgent Help!!!

                            Hi folks,

just returned from my commute today and noticed this rubber gasket-like thing hanging near the chain. I noticed that it acts like a guide for the chain on the outer side of the swingarm. That part was still intact. This rubber guide then went around the swingarm and towards the underside. However, I wasn't able to trace out where to fix it/where it got disconnected from/broke off...See images below:

Can anybody guess the issue? Can I fix it myself or I need to take it to the ASC? Is it safe to drive 10-12kms (to the ASC) safely with that rubber dangling near my chain? Is there any harm in removing it (so that I can remove it before riding)?

Biking is not about how many Km/h you put on your Speedo. It's about how many miles you put on your Odo. Ride Safe, Ride Long!

Dude..This rubber part is called Chain Slider and it is placed in between Swing Arm and chain just to avoid metal contact. I have faced this problem once and most of my friends also faced the same, So it is very common niggle in 250R. If chain slider came out front its position then provision from that rubber part got broken. So we cant do anything with the damaged one, Go to ASC buy a new one and fix it soon.
In the bottom side only it came off easily, by seeing picture i think yours also same case. So tie the broken part with left side foot peg with wire or something. Do this for time being and go to ASC tomorrow..

Thanks for the prompt reply. Examined it in daylight and seems like a screw which was used to hold it in place has fallen off - but it's too difficult to look at the base of the swingarm to investigate. Will take it to the ASC today - just hoping I don't need to replace the entire slider!
