^^^ Tks YoungKing. But, there're other things in life than visiting the ASC everytime isn't it? In 15 days, I've visited them 3 times & I've my greatest apprehension on leaving the vehicle over there too!!!Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

Aargee sorry to hear of the vibes after 4.5 k RPM. There seem to be a string of issues coming up which does not sound good.Originally posted by aargee View PostI'm not even interested to own C250R by the way things are going on with it; forget alone riding on the track
Beyond 4500 RPM (70 Kmph) & 6th gear there's real good vibrations starting from thighs all way up to foot; the RVM's have minor vibrations at idle. Do any of the C250R owner's experience the same two symptoms? I simply don't feel like owning the bike anymore. Like they say, first impression is best impression, may be probably that is lost. Damn!!! My 20 year old Rx has the same vibrations only after 85 Kmph!!!
When I call up the HMSI personnel, he asks me to take it to the ASC. So, in 15 days of ownership, there're about 3+ times of visit to ASC. And if I take to ASC, I've to leave the vehicle over there & the vehicle is at the risk of all curious hands. When I took the vehicle last Wednesday, I found a very minor scratch at the exhaust shield. Anyway, I let it go at the happiness of getting back my vehicle.
I'm not happy with the way things keeps going. First the cylinder, now vibrations & don't know what else will popup next. Does anyone have any contacts on upper management from HMSI? I'd really appreciate if someone has & comes forward to share with me. Tks.
.and only a lucky few have got good bikes...Already word is getting around of the CBR's reliability and spares availability issues...

Ji, looking back...
June 3rd week, I was there at dealership to take the bike
June 4th week, I was there at ASC to leave the bike
June 5th week, I've taken the delivery from ASC
Ideally July 1st week I've to visit the ASC for the vibes issues
God knows what will crop up for July 2nd week. I've to leave the bike at ASC by 8:30 morning (as if I don't have any other job to do), only then, I can expect my bike to be returned by evening. Otherwise, if I leave by evening, then, the bike stays at ASC all night to all curious eyes (and not to mention their hands as well). I've better things to do in life & this bike is taking away all my possible time!!!
Edit - Ji, that's a good link from **********. If the ASC doesn't resolve my issues or if I don't get a SATISFACTORY contact/response from HMSI, I'm sure to send the link or don't mind writing to Overdrive, ACI & Bike India. What's your take sir?Last edited by aargee; 07-02-2011, 08:54 PM.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I think this time around the vibes may be due to balancer gear setup, or due to thin 10w30 oil..also get the engine mounting bolts checked for correct torquing ......if not resolved will have to make HMSI's life miserable . my pre-owned ZMA seem like a good bike ...and I don't even look after it, except the initial oil changeOriginally posted by aargee View PostJi, looking back...

Ji, n_aditya was suggested that the issue could be due to mounts & it seems to be quite true. Reason is that, when the new engine is being mounted, we're not sure if the right amount of torque was used at all the points. I'm assuming that some mounts might require different torque & they might've kept the same level at all the points.
Also, it would've been better if new mounts were used, they might've used old ones
But no point making someone's life miserable. We've to keep moving that's all. Now I'm beginning to think in two ways...
Negative - Even if PBK is quite far off, I might've to visit them only once in 6K kms. Atleast I know for sure that I got a good product.
Positive - What if I'd bought the N250R & it also had the same kind of issues
? Ride everyday to Adyar ASC!!! Whew!!!

had been to the showroom to make the payment....
i just made a request to them that i have to see my bike before it goes to the RTO...and i get a NO!
they say they have a rule that no1 gets to see their vehicle before registration!!
is that the thing in all the showrooms ??
they say they'll take care about every major/minor issue(if any) but after my delivery!! but i dont trust them!!
and bdw its sterling honda, pune...

Life gives different people different experience...the N250 is the most reliable and nos sold bike in the world..it had been tested and perfected over the years.Originally posted by aargee View PostNegative - Even if PBK is quite far off, I might've to visit them only once in 6K kms. Before my KB100 i had a Suzuki AX100(15th bike sold in india)which developed Crank shaft bearing problem within first service and the Japs themselves were surprised. The bearing was changed and was given back to me. I had it for just one year and sold it,to buy a Silver RX100..Within the first 500 kms running developed gear box noise and had perennial cold starting problem....then in 4 months had more rust than parts.Didar motors changed all plated parts free, changed carb, reed valves etc...sold the bike in 6 months time..then bought KB100..which is still with me..

I would put it this way ...their bikes do have issues, and are generally said to be problematic...but thier response to customer is above average...and most important spares are made available in time...Originally posted by aargee View Post^^^ So it looks like, BAL, right from KB100 ages to N250R age is more reliable

Hi Guys..
Finally after a lil more than 2 weeks of shelter in my garage i rode my cbr c-abs today... Quite satisfied and a happy man
Didn't take it more than 4 - 5k rpm and mostly cruised around 35 to 45 kmph.
Engine does heat up quite a bit and early too. I first noticed the fan go on after about 20 kms.
Vibrations are not noticable as of now (fingers crossed)
Overall i really liked the ride and enjoyed every moment of it even though my mindset was a bit negative and hunting for abnormal things as per the updates i got from this thread.
Will keep updating and post some pics soon
Cheers guys !!

What stupid thing is thatOriginally posted by UtkarshB View Posthad been to the showroom to make the payment....

Bro in every showroom of any vehicle they will let you check vehicle , some take test ride then after satisfaction you can proceed. And the RTO thing is owner dependent , like if you buying it from pune & want to make passing from other city then ? Don't trust them they are making fool i think. First check bike & then make payment. OR Go to any other showroom & get bike from them , service is all india so dont worry , even if you bought it from other city
@ aargee Bro i think its a SVC mechanic'ssssss ( as there might be a lot more getting involved while engine changing ) fault , let them recheck , refit it . Then drive it some more days bro , Don't think negative or positive , just be neutral....who knows you will might get your trust back on CBR.

Honda CBR 250R
After reading about all the issues listed in the previous pages, I already did a small test to see if I have any issues in my bike or not, but I still had some dilemma so did a test again... This time it was with something I would call a friend though people call it a rival... The n250r ... A late night spin on a great road plus an express way..
Managed to do 155 km/h thrice.. All 3 times was in 6th and around 80kmph.. Twist the throttle and way you go!!! U have to duck into the tiny windshield though... Got an avg of 34kmpl inspire of the speed run.. Could catchup with the ninja but on a stretch, ninja went way ahead and it could do 170 km/h.. Cbr was handling pretty well even at that speeds.. Pretty rock solid.. I dint have anything more than the usual vibes at those speeds.. One thing which I would like is a twin cylinder block in the baby blade. Wish Honda should have launched it with a parallel twin.. Hmm

Sudeep, do you experience...Originally posted by sudeepnbr View PostMy baby CBR completed one month today! 2000 kms on the odo and I'm a happy owner!
1. Minor (say about 0.5 to 1mm) vibes on RVM's during idling?
2. 4.5K RPM at 6th gear & vibes starts right from thighs all way upto legs?
I quite see my engine is smooth, punchier & torqy, except for the above 2 issues.
Damn!!! I'm even losing my sleep over these issues
