Yes, lets have some numbers first... Atleast 5-8! It'll be good then.

              • Good Morning Guys!

I have booked my CBR during march, but waiting for it. As per your reviews as concerned, C-ABS is not making that much of noticable performance in braking.

Im from chennai so the on road price is...
                CBR Std is Rs.1,59,105/-, CBR C-ABS is Rs.1,86,340 => Rs.27,235(difference)
Is it that much worth to spend extra for this C-ABS?. I personally feel no!

I am not a racer. May go in city max 80km/h, and not much frequent on highways.
And my dealer says the waiting time for c-abs is 2 months from now. I dont have the patience!

Please advice. Should i take Std or C-ABS?

                • @arunteche

CABS is definitely worth it for the Price point and for the size of the bike that you have.

If you are a Probiker you will surely understand the need for it.
I got my CABS bike and is good ive done 200Kms on it so far
the issue for the Delay from Honda is because the CABS is from NISSIN which comes from Japan
and you know the condition of supply chain after the recent disaster from Japan.

Mine was the first booking done at jan 1st But it took a long time for the Bike to be alloted on 15th may due to shortage.
Since you are waiting anyways i recommend you wait for the right stuff.

                    • Sorry for re-posting this, but am seriously giving this a thought, and people simply ignored it the first time so here it goes:

Quick question: Is anyone trying the 'Run-it-hard' break-in method? If so, please elaborate on the exact method used.

Edit: After reading a considerable number of articles on hard run-ins, I would definitely like to try this method out once i get my hands on my bike. Any help in this regard would be most welcome!

P.S.: Now, thinking of 'mixing it up' after reading a few more articles. Warm up the bike for about 20 mins in 'easy' mode. Then a few quick accelerations and decelerations to visit all the rpm figures below the red line for about 20 minutes and then back to easy mode for 20 mins or so... Or may be even more.. Any other POVs on this?

                        • That's pretty much what I've followed. Have done 800+ kms, and now the bike seems to have opened up. And I've noticed that at night, the engine behaves even better. Also, from what I've seen, when starting on a ride, first let the engine warm up, i.e let the coolant temp gauge show the 3 bars. Once that is complete, the engine responds much better, as the engine would have thermally stabilised.

And guys hoping to run-in the bike very soon, beware of unavailability of spares. I had done about 500kms in 3 days, and was hoping to complete the run-in within a week, but found out that the oil filters had not yet been delivered, and they said they would clean the old oil filter and put it back with the new oil. I'm apprehensive about this, and so have been delaying getting to the 1000 km mark.

                          • Was on the CBR "as a pillion" for over 150 kms. And I must say, its not very comfortable for a pillion on long ride. I was getting a lot of pain in my a**.

But I was mighty impressed with the headlight. It was soo bright!
Here is the video. Sorry for the poor quality... And SWITCH OFF the speakers!!! There is too much noise/disturbance in the video.
