Guys what do you think about the condition of chain set and sprockets? Should I need to get them changed? Cause whenever I lube it, the bike feels butter smooth for a couple of weeks and then it gradually decreases with an increase in ruffness. The same repeats like a cycle process. The odo is at 24k now. So should I get my whole chain set changed?......please give me your suggestions.

What do u mean by hooking bro? I am new to this kind of stuff..also please tell me how much does changing the whole chain set effect the smoothness and pickup of a bike? Pickup especially.Originally posted by Shashank K R View PostLooks like it's time to change the set. The sprocket teeth have become sharp and have some amount of hooking as well.Last edited by praveen6494; 08-10-2018, 12:38 PM.

Not sure about acceleration, but it'll feel somewhat smoother. There won't be any jerks in acceleration or any unwanted sounds from the new chain set.Originally posted by praveen6494 View PostWhat do u mean by hooking bro? The sprocket teeth will be "bent" in one direction much like a hook.

Have you diagnosed the problem? Why the new battery failed so early? Please keep your observations posted. Cheers!!Originally posted by aditya_YZF-R15 View Postyou mean once the battery is already showing signs of going out of life? in that case, yes, it did sometimes seem to give a momentary feeling of "just about to stall" even at 2000-3000 RPM (at least in my case today) which is substantially higher than idling RPM region, thus why i made sure to keep the RPM over 4000 (actually i kept it mostly over 5-6000 because of paranoia) even at low gears and low speed (using a lot of partial clutching)..basically i was frequently roaring the throttle with full or partial clutch disengaged pretty much all the ride back except for a few stretches where i could maintain a good speed at higher gears...to other people i must have appeared like one of those showoffs who roar their throttle at slow speeds through crawling traffic for attention lol

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
oh, yeah should have posted it...the battery stopped blinking constantly after a couple of days, then went to my mechanic and he said the ignition coil needed to be cleaned a bit as quite a bit of dirt/carbon was deposited..he did that, and the bike's been running well and no battery light so far...according to him, the ECU shows battery light and may switch the ignition off even if nothing is wrong with the battery itself but something's wrong with the ignition coil or the fuel pump..not sure how far that's correct, i still think something may have gone awry with the battery but anyway, bike's smoothness and throttle response has improved after the ignition coil cleaning..let's hope just the dirty ignition coil was indeed the problem, and not something subtle inside the battery that has momentarily hidden itself.Originally posted by Saravanan Murdlock View PostHave you diagnosed the problem? Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I had contacted the Tuneboss ECU guys a couple of years back, I asked them how can I buy the ECU and they said they will not sell the ECU as they won't be able to provide after sales service if I needed any help. I'd say just get a Powertronic as its a really good product and the after sales service they provide is really good .Originally posted by maddox41 View PostHi did you ever install your tune boss on your r15 and what year is your bike?TÜRBØ

A bigger disc setup is not required for a bike as small as the R15. The trouble is too much and the gain is too little.Originally posted by Ashish Tirkey View PostHas anyone used bigger front discs(300mm/320mm), if yes then where did you get it from and how much did it cost ? Also how much braking improvement over standard ?
If you want better brakes, change the rubber hoses to steel braided pipes and you will feel a great deal of difference in both the feel and the bite of the brakes.
The brake lines for Bajaj Pulsar220 is a direct fit and its a comparatively cheap and less trouble some upgrade than changing the whole rotor, calipers and everything else.
You will face many problems in mounting the calipers and a mod job that complicated might not be reliable (if not done properly). you don't want your brakes un-reliable.I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

220 hoses are not exactly put and forget. If you don't route it properly it may develop kinks and crack from that part. Been there done that.
I use 220 hose upfront and Duke 200 hose at the back.
Brakes bite like a rabid dog.
