Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
1. Try to fill the tank as soon as the F flashes on the display. Fuel injected bikes shouldn't be running low on fuel. When you park the bike, it is on side stand. The fuel then might be insisting the sensor that there is enough fuel and the F meter vanishes. When you start it again and put it in motion, the sensor feels cheated by the temporary change in fuel level and starts displaying the kms done starting from 0.Originally posted by Midhun.akd View Post

1. Thank you For your replay.. always trying to fill petrol as soon as possible..i smell something in this because earlier days after filling fuel the f meter only vanishes after 5 k.m.. this info written on user manual also.. my fuel pump replaced under warrenty three months earlier the cause is the f meter never flash even the fuel completely empty.. i stranded middle of roads two times without fuel...Originally posted by Akash.Yadav View Post1. The phenomenon of F blinking at reserve and going back to normal while parking or uphill/downhill is a normal thing.Originally posted by Midhun.akd View Post1. However if it doesn't blink sometimes even when the fuel tank goes empty, you need to have it checked asap, possibly replace.
Also, this fuel pump also will go bonkers because you've been riding under low/no fuel.
Regards.

My F meter never worked from day one. All I do is refill to brinm once I hit the last two point in fuel gauge, so that I never run out of fuel that hurts the fuel pump.
Regarding un even wear in front wheel, check the rim, fork alignment and movement in triple tree. Buy a reliable pressure gauge and check the cold pressure everyday. Cheers!!

Re: R15 engine sound
Check whether the reservoir black rubber cap is properly seated or may be coolant is above the FULL mark. Drain hose is directed towards bottom, literally it will not drain on sprocket cover.Originally posted by Saravanan Murdlock View PostHi guys,
Coolant is dripping on top of the front sprocket cover. Is this a usual thing? Where is the coolant overflow tube is situated in our motorcycle? Please advise.
Sound type? Source? Engine running sound or from Chain or Brakes? Do you mean Tappet noise?Originally posted by Not_myvibe View PostMy bikes engine has a wierd sound , like I don't feel the power , anyone else or just me / is it time that I upgrade to a more powerful one ????
Any words ?Regards

It's probably just coolant over flow. Check this thread out, probably should give you some insight.

chhlik chhlik sound from engine....
Hai XBhpians.....
I have a R15 v2 (odo 37000+ km)...i am hearing sounds(chhlik...chhlik....
)other than normal engine sound from my engine area. I suspect cam chain, cam chain tensioner. This sound is more audible when engine is hot or after riding for 1 hour or so
I dont know if it is the tensioner or the chain....
does a cam chain or cam tensioner need replacement at regular intervels? and if it does, what is the intervel for r15? and how often should i check valve clearance?
thnks for your reply

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
Hi Guys,
Currently my 2015 bike's ODO is around 38k and I'm planning a bike trip (around 2000km). Since all I have done till now is the regular services for 2500 km and not replaced any major parts in the bike. I am leaving my bike for the service and plan to change my chain sprockets, spark plug and the cone set if required. I wanted to know what all things that I would have to check for replacement during the service as I am going on a solo ride and don't want any problems which can be avoided. Tyre's are good and recently replaced. Need to replace the stock bulbs as they are not sufficient (please suggest me one). Also in this service I want to replace/repair any major part. So considering the mileage on the bike what are the things that I have to check for?? Sorry if I'm asking noobish questions. Thanks in advance

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
You can Philips Diamond Vision series for more whitish light throw, helps in better throw or the Osram NightBreaker series they offer similar performance with good beam intensity. Rest, you're pretty much sorted on the pre ride check. Also as an aside, check your throttle cables, clutch cable for any wear or excess play, your brake pads and last but not least, ENGINE OIL. Replace/top up if necessary.Originally posted by manub View PostHi Guys,

Re: Yamaha YZF-R15 version 2.0
I have used osram silverstar thats the cheapest upgrade on my R15 , little mod I did was to connect both bulbs in Low beam ..Originally posted by manub View PostHi Guys,

And then adjust the beam throw ..
Mostly you gonna be using High beam as it wide and pointed in the center . Exactly whats needed on mountain roads.
Rest all good .
As VJ suggested you can give a try to osram nightbreaker .
I am using phillips xtreme visions on CBR250 and found it to be good low beam is more longish now .>>>>Beware of Zombies<<<<
