Hi! I've been riding my black Impulse for around 3 months. Odo has clocked 3.2k kms. Experience so far : I loved it ever since I took the test ride
I was earlier determined that I was gonna buy Honda Dazzler, but when I sat on this babe
dazzy disappeared from my memory. Still enjoying everyday. Only sad thing is the front engine mount bolts have disappeared (Not tightened at SVC? Stolen by some jealous moron?) and I get creaking sound. No spares in Pune.
Till now have spray painted the muffler cover matt black. Hope to do more (mainly d.i.y)

I had a hunch that this was going to happen. The article states that they are working on a new on/off road bike. I am excited just to hear that atleast one company is working towards on/off segment.I like impulse but R&D sucks but its's understandable as this is a new segment .Impulse is 10 years too late atleast.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View Postas per this article , hero will be phasing out impulse and ignitor , maybe in a few years time. as it is both the bikes are not selling like its other models

Fixed the oil leaking problem by going to the nearest hero showroom.
Costed me 85/- for a new part
.He hasn't even asked me before installing the new part .It looked like a speaker with a wire attached to it.He told me it was burned out because of engine heat
The 'tak' sound that many of the impulse owners are getting, is coming for me too .I asked the svc guys to see the problem .He started slamming below handle bar .so I yelled him to stop and leave the problem. He said some seal is broken at front fork
How did you guys fixed the problem ???
Also one more thing .,, where can I get the knuckle guards online ??The place where I bought the bike told me they don't have those.Last edited by abid567; 09-09-2012, 05:49 PM.

Why does Hero need to "develop" Honda bikes. Just a take the design from honda, the world leader, and manufacture as is.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View Postas per this article , hero will be phasing out impulse and ignitor , maybe in a few years time. as it is both the bikes are not selling like its other models

IMHO, Hero has ruined a perfectly good bike - the NXR Bros - by changing the gear ration and making the engine gutless with the aim pleasing the masses. Instead they have missed their core customer base..

Got the BBR CDI wired in today and it does make a noticeable change. The wires for the TPS and the tachometer are now defunct. Its not a direct plug in and I had to swap a few wires in the connector. The moose racing clutch springs are in, in preparation for the big bore kit.
The two CDIs side by side:

Wired up and connected:

The Green and the Black/Yellow wires need to be swapped and the White wire which is the switched DC supply needs to shifted from the red connector to the black one.

Fits perfectly inside:

Got rid of the "service reminder" on the dashboard. The way to get rid of it... with ignition off keep the reset button pressed and switch on ignition
!

just a question for the Future, i want to change the Sprockets front and rear to gain more of highway cruising speeds at a little relaxed Engine RPM, since i do same day mumbai pune mumbai very regularly almost every week, i dont mind if the pickup of the bike drops marginally at slower speeds, i dont need a very high pick up, but want more of relaxed engine RPM, i want it so that the engine has a little more headroom, i usually ride at speeds between 70 and 85, but beyond 75 the engine starts feeling stressed and the fuel economy drops to my Yezdi level, i dont want answers such as its an offroader and is not a highway machine and its geared for more low end torque, etc etc., i know it myself, i also go offroading and have a great funtime, but doing this is specially for the above mentioned reason. Any advice in enhancing the relaxed cruising speeds is welcomed.
Somehow i cannot find any indepth technical specs on gears, sprockets teeths of this bike anywhere, so if someone has any information/tech papers please share. if i manage to find some solutions then i shall discuss it here and share my experiences. Later on in after completing a few more thousand kms i want to upgrade the bike to a bigger block piston too, but this will be for performance enhancement.Vehicles Owned/Previously Owned

What can we expect for normal riding style of 50-60 KMPH within city?? (off course off road no expectation)
I have ridden 500+ so far, in diffent conditions / speeds / traffic, it gives me around 40-45. Max speed so far is 55 kmph as I am running in. I use the low end torque very much, i.e I always go to 0-50 in 10-15 seconds then stay there. I am riding 50 kms per day on week days... out of which 10% in bumper to bumper traffic, 25% typical off road / road as bad as off road, the rest in express ways with signals. I use normal petrol, no high octane stuff. Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).
