Check how many turns out you have on the air fuel mixture screw.Originally posted by southpaw View Post--bike vibes quite a bit even at 3-3.5k rpm before normalising at ~4k.. maybe loose engine mount etc is at play, but there is a loss of torque and pickup i feel,
other than that good part is mileage i am getting 45+kmpl, did 450Km on the last full-to-reserve reading..

@southpaw
I think majority of your issues related to servicing, as you have already been thinking of trying out a different SC, your problems might get solved at one shot.
Btw, the mud on engine is a concern expressed in many forums, I think there needs to be mod job there. I have two fold plan for my impulse to be delivered next week, first attaching a short front fender much like the ns200 /duke got for the rear. Second a custom made engine gaurd attached to the cradle bar. Former will be cumbersome and might affect the overall distance of frent shock travel, but will save both engine and the shoes
. Later will be relatively simpler to implement I think and will provide the gaurd to engine from small stones and mud, also there is disadvantage of obstructing the air flow to engine. So I will try hard to achive the first plan if it fails, will settle for the second.
Its crime to ride a car alone, so I ride bike :).

i bought Impulse on 10 Feb and have done 6150+ km and got 45+ mileage up to now. im getting 53+ mileage up to the first service,after first service mileage drops to 40+,after second service mileage raises to 45+, and tomorrow i'll give for third service
Tuck Tuck sound from front shocks is annoying, Engine gets so hot quickly and feels some heat to right leg for just a ride of 100+kms. pls share if u know any remedies for those
and finally i want to know the pros and cons of changing K&N Air filter.

Thanks for the info. I wonder how the company didn't hear that noise during testing.I hope they will come up with something to make the brakes work better and also a skid plate and engine guard would be nice.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View PostThere is a replacement bearing (for steering) coming soon to a SC near you. this will resolve the issue of kat-kat sound from the front

Well, I took mine back to the service center saying the front brake had no feel and had no bite in it.Originally posted by SiDDi View PostThanks for the info. They gave the bike back with the brake lever replicating the softness and travel of the clutch.

On my bike I am very happy with the feel of the front brake, I dont want a very hard biting brake especially on gravel & wet roads. I think its mostly a case of bleeding the system properly as we have the hose higher than the master cylinder and air might be getting trapped in the hose.Originally posted by the_trooper View PostWell, I took mine back to the service center saying the front brake had no feel and had no bite in it.

From experience I have found that its the easiest to bleed reverse, from the caliper up by pumping brake fluid into the caliper with a syringe. You will have to orient the hose so that the highest point is the master cylinder.

i had fitted a pair of knuckle guards which cost me rs77... now the thing is when i fitted them everything was ok now the problme have started that the right knuckle guard is moving and not fixed but that's not creating problme in breaking and the problme is that the left knuckle guard have become loose due to much clutch use and that's the problme as loose clutch ain't good for both riding and confidence what should i do? i remeber the mechanic told me that the required screws and bolts needed to fit with the knuckle guard wasn't at their disposal and that's why he went ahead with stock nuts bolts which came fitted with front break and clutch lever. please suggest how to rectify that problem and fix the left knuckle guard so it doesn't flap...OPINIONS ARE LIKE HEADACHES EVERYONE HAS ONE....

Mayukh post some pics of the installation, its very hard to figure out how you have installed them.Originally posted by mayukh92 View Posti had fitted a pair of knuckle guards which cost me rs77... now the thing is when i fitted them everything was ok now the problme have started that the right knuckle guard is moving and not fixed but that's not creating problme in breaking and the problme is that the left knuckle guard have become loose due to much clutch use and that's the problme as loose clutch ain't good for both riding and confidence what should i do? i remeber the mechanic told me that the required screws and bolts needed to fit with the knuckle guard wasn't at their disposal and that's why he went ahead with stock nuts bolts which came fitted with front break and clutch lever. please suggest how to rectify that problem and fix the left knuckle guard so it doesn't flap...
There are basically two types, one which installs totally independent of the clutch & brake lever perch:

And the other which installs on the lever perch; these are outdated:
