Yes, I'll confirm whether it is meant for Impulse.

Yesterday I took my bike to Tungareshwar, Vasai. It is out n out rugged path to ride on - full of streams, dirt, muck, rocks, pebbles n to top it all it's a curvy hill climb.

Bike performed amazingly well, it could not have performed better. But there was a major hiccup...It stalled couple of times, I thought it was overheated but the engine was still cool, starter sounded normal yet the bike wont start, plug was dry, cleant it still no go. Fiddled with RPM, and it started again. This happened thrice during that trip but when I started bike with choke ON, then it would start with no issue and without choke it was struggling.
(It's definitely not an issue with bike but the service center guy who screwed the settings the other day when he opened up the carb n other components for no reason.)

What could be the issue? Does these symptoms show any sign of trouble with RPM settings or Spark plug not functioning well?

This issue has seriously dampened my confidence of taking it into wild again.

P.S. With RPM between 1100 to 1200 it works superbly on roads/highways.

    Regards,
    Burnoutdee
I agree with you. It shatters confidence to take it to wild though bike is ment for off roading. I also face this stalling and starting issue. Yes they dont treat impulse well in service centers. But still I would say hero servicing is best amongst all brands in india. Though they are not perfect.

I took my bike to Hero service center n asked the technical supervisor that why it was stalling when rode off road, he said that's probably bcos of air in petrol tank since the petrol was juggled inside it. To remedy this issue he advised to keep the tank open for 5-10 mins n then proceed. He confidently said that whoever is facing this issue is only due to the same reason.

He also advised to try the premium petrol rather than common petrol to get more out of the bike n it will also improve the sound of engine. I am planning to upgrade the
air filter to K&N's and MICO's spark plug.

After washing the bike at service center same thing happened, it wasn't starting and this time also spark plug n starter sounded proper. Then again mechanic started the bike on choke like i did yesterday; unfortunately by then the supervisor left n another one said its pretty common after wash or getting wet. Does any one know what's goin on???

Why the hell did he fiddle around with carb, he should not have done that.
Might be an issue with the AFR.

                2 things:
Never let any mechanic fiddle with carb unless extremely necessary.
                &
Never let any1 open the filter or clean it as its an oil based one.

Where are you based? I have a black vega motocross helmet which never fitted my head and want to sell it off, came with some graphics as well. Never crashed and has inbuilt goggles and glass as well.
                  Let me know if interested.

                    You are right.

I am very particular about this, but the other day due to starting issues after washing those baboons at service center could not figure out what is the problem and to find out the issue those mo-fkrs opened carb n filter too. Now what to do? I'll have to go to them again and get the AFR corrected. But why did stall only while off-roading but not on highway rides?

Is there tubless available for Impulse???

If not can we use some liquids inside the tube to resist the puncher?

                      IF not anything else???
Sorry for replying so late, you can make your tyres tubeless by just going to a good tyre shop and asking him to make it tubesless, he will just replace the valves with the ones that come with tubeless tyres, remove the tube (make sure you take the tubes from him) and there you go, you just got your tyres converted in tubeless. However, tube tyres n tubeless ones have their own advantages n disadvantages.
Tube tyres dont leak air if the rims get bent, but tubeless do.
Tubeless tyres can go upto 2-3 hours even after a puncture n easy to repair if u have a kit, tube tyres are a pain to repair on impulse as it includes removing wheel, if rear wheel, then you have to remove the chain, n pulling the wheel out from it is a task.
I would definitely advise to get your tyres converted to tubeless, the valves cost rs. 150 each but you can trade your tubes for them. But if you already have had punctures, u need to repair them as the tyre may still have that hole in it.
                      Hope that answers your query.

As per my off roading habits, there is some sudden throttle required during off roading, in other words, you push your bike in offroading, whereas on the highway, your on steady rpm
Btw, which service centre do you visit?

                          Logical explanation that is.

Its good but if there are cross winds, your bike may change lanes. On the NH4 (Mumbai-Pune), at 113, i felt as if the bike may take off like a jet in the sky. Fortunately it did not.

Yes it is, the AFR comes into picture highly when there is some lower and mid range torque required. Thats also a reason why the non fuel injected bikes get extremely less power in ladakh trips due to thin air hampering AFR.
