Guys got my bike from showroom.....noise from handle is reduced...can say dosnt exist...but still it issues sometimes...and such noise is also issued when i drive my splendor....my friends cd felux and my acess....its just that this was a bit louder...handling has improved greatly...i asked to tighten it a bit moe so as to remove noise thoroughly but it resulted in hard handling...and i tried all vehicles there and at my home...all produce the noise of handle its just that impulse has larger conset so,larger noise.... I am satisfied with the service.

The engine is same as that of the unicorn...and achiever... ideally the cbz hunk dazzler trigger all have the same engine but at a different state of tune... and different heads and carbs I believe..

Most engine parts from achiever and unicorn are a straight swap Imo... I dont see a reason why it wouldnt

Good to know, thanks for the detailed report, it clears a lot of doubts.

My steering has suddenly become tight, but the noise has not stopped. I will have my mechanic look at it.

One of my brother takes care of my bike. Hes a technician at honda and a big race fan. He suggested this handlebar height raising and he did it for me. Now I feel more comfortable with new handlebar height.

Brakes suspension etc can always vary... but varying engine parts the company will have to do more r&d.. its best hero left the honda engine untouched... I dont think it will be diffrent. when you get plates.. go to a shop and confirm by asking for uni plates... I believe it has to be same.

they are available at AH motors andheri, Mumbai. I checked them myself for my impulse. If you are in Mumbai then you can get them. I am sure they are available in other cities also.

i have shown my motorcycle to 10 different places now, no one is able to pinpoint why it wobbles so much and has terrible handling.
some say tyres are gone, some tell me to do complete truing and alignment

alignment charges here vary from 100 (hero asc - complete fraud - they do nothing), to 200 (typical wheel/puncture shop with an over-enthusiastic kid handling your bike) to a quote i got for 1500 (car alignment shop though i am pretty sure he was exaggerating making it sound like rocket science)

also the brakes have lost bite, rear is especially very dangerous now - it's free play then sudden lockup - any idea how much would replacement of both front and rear pads cost? i have done 22k KM now.

                              to sum it up:

                              1) new brake pads front and rear
                              2) want to upgrade to 55/60 lamps and if possible convert the 'pass' switch to a 'always on' high+low beam switch
                              3) that pulsar tyre hugger trick for front wheel
                              4) a windshield - not a huge-ass avenger one but those sharp, smart ones seen on GS1200R & Super Tenere bikes
                              5) good looking tail box that can accommodate a helmet
                              6) stronger horn
                              7) rim sticker - red

i am looking to meet up people in bangalore who have Impulses, if more people want these things done we have leverage on our side and get things done at lower costs.

really want to revamp my motorcycle.. it runs like it has lost power, terrible handling and vibrations, wheels wobbling, poor headlights, meek horn.. sick of Hero ASCs as they are competent only at fraudulent practices. plz suggest a good service guy who takes his job seriously and will do things like carb cleaning, oil filter replacements, with proper skill.

lots of questions, phew! hoping to get a response

                                hey guys

its been a while sine i posted here.. but i do check it out once in a while to see whats happening.. i need some help..
my bike has done 10.5k kms..
im pretty happy with the overall experience.. hero asc managed to fix the 'tak tak' sound.. he just said 'fork is loose' and fixed it.. handling is still good and im able to ride hands free while keeping steering straight.. that must be a good sign..
HERE IS WHERE I NEED HELP
                                1. Since 8000 kms there has been some 'snoaring' sound at about 3.5k on rpm and a 'snarling' sound at 5.5k rpm..
The idiot at the ASC said let it be because if he adjusts it, it may kill my mileage (which is about 45).. so i decided not to pursue this with him. Any idea how to eliminate this sound? I am very particular about keeping my bike in pristine condition and this really bothers me.
                                2. I changed spark plugs to NGK iridiums along with the spitfire cable. Recently i noticed that the spitfire is connected to the old cable and then connects to a small device. Doesnt this make the spitfire useless? coz the sparks are going through the old cable anyway..
                                3. As soon as i reach 15k..NO MORE ASC..can anyone suggest a good mechanic in Chennai?
Any help would be much appreciated..
                                RIDE HARD BUT RIDE SAFE!
