Anyone got those Knuckle Guards installed?
I got a pair of those knuckle guards as a complimentary gesture from where I bought this motorcycle but when I went to get them installed from the local hero honda workshop.. they were clueless on how to fit it.. some BS#$% about not having the required bolts.. and they asked me to check again after 2-3 days..

Right beside the Hall #18, where the Hero Moto stall is, they have made a small off-road sort of closed track where some the Impulse stunt team is performing stunts and also they are giving free test ride to whoever comes with a DL.
I also managed to get a small test ride. It didn't last more than 2 mins, but here is my little 'first impression' based on that test ride that was only in 1st gear
1. The bike looks impressive.
2. Wouldn't be very comfortable for short guys.
3. The engine is super refined and smooth. Reminds me of my Unicorn.
4. Will definitely feel underpowered on the highways.
5. And the first thing that comes to mind when you sit on this bike is "off-road." It entices you to play with it and do some crazy stuff with it.
here are some pics

Yup thats what am talking about.Originally posted by crvlvr View PostWhat do you mean? Number of front and rear sprocket teeth? I think Hero should provide those detailed specs somewhere. I am finding it hard to find any of these including compression/gear ratios etc.
I've searched for it, but was'nt able to find it.

Wildnerd I picked it up from Nikhi, in Palace Orchards. Cost came up to Rs, 80,375. this includes VAT, Road Tax and Insurance (which I think can be opted out of). I opted out of Hero Good Life. Hope this helps.Originally posted by Wildnerd View Postcrvlvr,

My seat of the pants opinion is that it will be hard to go any taller (smaller rear sprocket) with the ratio as it will affect top speed. The stock engine barely manages in top gear with the current ratios.Originally posted by ashwinprakas View PostYup thats what am talking about.

Knuckle Guards
I got the motorcycle from Sehgal Motors, Pimpri, Pune.Originally posted by niks_devil666 View Postfrom which dealer did u pickup and how much it cost u ?
But the knuckle guards were free, a complimentary gesture.
I took them to Singh Motors, Bund Garden, Pune for installation, that did not succeed.इस गोल दुनिया में सीधे चलने वाले ज्यादा दूर नहीं जाते

Got the mileage of my impulse.......with over 200 km of highway cruising at steady 60 kmph, i got 53 kmpl and with 120 km of pure city driving it returned to 43.47 kmpl.
another problem is that when i hit bike to bumps or potholes, there is a sound comes out from steering assembly. it feels like something loose in steering cone. The problem also described to service center but they can't figure out the problem. Does anyone has same problem......?
I have clocked 900 km till now.

On Saturday, we did a bit photography while doing offroading...
I did offroading quite aggresively on Sunday for more than 1 hour and the more I ride this bike, the more impressed I am. I did some mistakes and I thought I am about to fall, but this bike has got superb balance. I am really a proud owner of Impulse.Papa always emphasize on making my own path...
So I start off-roading... :D

Got my Impulse yesterday.. after some weeks of thinking, reading xBhp, went for it.. though most people advised me against it, still something about this bike it struck a chord with me
i was really confused among the colors (orange, red, green, black)
ALMOST bought orange but at the last moment took the black one and signed the papers
total onroad price in noida 75800 incl. everything knuckle guards as well.. paid 50 as tip to SVC guy who readied my bike it was really looking like a knockout when he polished it in every nook n corner
EVERYONE asks about the bike, everyone turns heads and notices it. i really like this
right frm the petrol pump dude to the mall parking attendant, they even thought by the looks tht it is some hifi sportsbike costing 1L+
now my usage is not offroad at all, but noida roads are bad enough, speedbreakers so pathetic even SX4 silencer gets scraped, but impulse really is an SUV among bikes. supremely comfortable.. have driven around 15Km till now, liking it
this is my first motorcycle ever, since 2001 I used to ride a Kinetic Zoom ZX (gave me headaches but emotional connect with it) and before that a 1988 Bajaj Priya
Plz give me some newbie tips, what/not to do in initial period, also right nw there is a little starting trouble, it is cold here maybe thts y, bike shuts off at 0 throttle + clutch while slowing down in 1/2nd gear etc. maybe i will get used to it. right now riding very carefully @ 40-50kmph only and taking care of the bike.
ALso any idea where i can buy a seat cover and a bike cover. it rained twice in noida today and i felt bad seeing it get drenched
