      Tvs truspray costs Rs 385 for 500ml- vfm. For cleaning you can use diesel.

        • Pulsar 200 ns - Air Filter Issue (upjetting)

          Hello kind sirs,
          I own a pulsar 200 ns, that has run 7950 Kms over the past 1.5 years. I'm pretty new into the motorcycling world. However recently one of my friends gifted me a K&N Rc 1060 filter and insisted on getting it installed. He seemed to know more than me so I went along with it, but apparently to install the filter, the mechanic removed the entire stock air filter 'box' and gave it to me in a bag and replaced it with this small rc 1060 air filter.
          I found it quite weird and on doing a little research I found a lot of people bragging about doing the same to their bikes and people telling them how they've ruined their bikes engine. I also noticed something about upjetting the carb. I'd like to know what this is and how its done, and preferably if anyone knows a good mechanic that could do the same in South Mumbai.

          (This video isn't mine, but my air filter installation looked quite similar to this https://www.facebook.com/l.php?u=htt...xI&h=SAQFn_YGk )

          Also, I'd like to ask whats a good rear tyre replacement for pulsar 200 ns, I've heard pirelli sport demon is a good replacement, please let me know if one of you have experience/knowledge in that regard.

          Awaiting your replies
          Sincerely,
          Hamza

            Conventional method is to check the colour of the sparkplug electrode.

            White=lean
            Tan= ideal mixture
            Black= Rich

            Second conventional method is to check for the AFR using the emission machine. Haven't tried it, but there was an article by PSR regarding the same. But i presume it won't work in stock setup situation as the mixture of the gaseous particles are catalysed and hence the reading may be wrong. There are AFR monitors available in the market, usually used by racing teams to get the tuning they desire. NGK has them I suppose. But then again the exhaust pipes used in racing are without catalytic converters.

            Other non conventional methods I experience,
            Ride on an empty noiseless road, accelerate hard and then decelerate, if you hear a popping sounds from the exhaust, the engine could be running lean.

            Heat from the engine can also determine to a certain extent. But that is difficult to judge if its lean or rich. And now with the liquid cooled engines I/we would go wrong.

                  Fine grit paper to remove the rust, a coat of primer, followed by a coat of paint would last a really long time.

                  • Pulsar 200 ns - Air Filter Issue (upjetting)

                    Hello,
                    I'm a proud owner of a pulsar 200 ns for the past 1.5 years, its the only bike I've ever owned, I've run it for 8000 kms so far. I was surprised when the mechanic replaced the entire stock air filter 'box' thing with this small conical air filter. I came home and researched and found that the carb needs to be upjetted whenever there is a change in air filter from the stock ones.
                    Does anyone know any mechanic in south mumbai that could do this? Does any other pulsar 200 ns owner have experience with upjetting with a similar air filter?
                    Also, what tire do you guys think is best as a replacement to the current eurogrip ones

                      Guys. My radiator fan is not working even after idling the bike for more than 10mins. Also rode the bike for 160kms today but didn't notice the fan start even once and at one time the bike become so hot that I had to stop for 10mins. The coolant is also disappearing. Had changed the head gasket around a couple of weeks ago which was causing the coolant to leak inside the engine. What now...???

                        the part that has corroded is just a small and very cheap metal ring made of thin metal sheet. get it replaced. it is cheaper then dirt cheap.

                          If you dont upjet the bike would run lean and heatup more. So its best to upjet. And I would'nt recommend K&N or any other paper based conical filters cause they dont filter well with respect to our Indian riding conditions.

                          And regarding sourcing Jets you can either get it online or buy from Chinmay, Pune.

                                Thanks i used sandpaper and painted after appliying a coat of primer.But the black color seems to be darker where i painted.

                                I also have another question,my bike(200ns) is switching off randomly.Requires 2 self start attemps,need to accelerate during start.
                                The engine stops with an air pulling sound(whoop)... bajaj needs me to keep the bike for 1 day.Can i fix it myself?
