@RafiRashi Dude, do the FE thing again. You will get a better picture. What Mayank is saying is correct.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

its very sad but true that Discover ST is having 5 ltr reserve!

I filled till the top and got 280km mileage and after that now i am on reserve.

i did 3-4 times bursting and used clutch many times thats why mileage dropped down.

To guys who are facing gear shifting problems please daily atleast play with your bike. I am sure you will learn something !

To be Frank the Best 125cc still in market is Stunner with the Tacho and the Muscline Looks perhaps not a Mono but still Look wise it was the best
Discover is something that can mess with the stunners reign, but still it lacks in the points of No Rear sets, Smaller Disc, may be the advantage is more power and Mono shocks.
But any youngster looking for a good 125cc will have a confusion with Stunner and Discover ST.

I do not agree with you. HONDA stunner looks outdated! With less power and outdated looks, i don't like it anymore.

And talking about youngster I M a student and i really didn't like stunner(for outdated) and pulsar for riding comfort and looks like 8th class students bike!

Discover ST covers every need of a family as a commuter bike and sportier looks with power for student!

I'm sorry, but i'll have to disagree with you. Looks & seating position apart, Stunner has nothing to show for a 125cc. In my opinion, P135LS, Yamaha SS125, Discover 125ST are far superior to other 125cc competition. Simply put these three bikes are perhaps in a different league for a 125cc. Besides, Stunner was selling well before P135LS, almost in excess of 20k+ if i'm right, but after P135LS, fortunes changed and how? You can check the below link for current Stunner sales range.

It was rather swept aside by P135LS. I'm guessing with Discover 125ST, Bajaj is looking to do the same to Shine, hope they will be successful with this product. Personally, I consider Shine, Stunner among the crappiest bikes in 125cc, I'll never expect a 125cc bike to vibrate right after 60kmph, would you?

              so by than 10.5-3.5=7

i am confused with what manual says
so when u had full tank and now u are riding u have completed 388km

did u switch ur knob to reserve? u mentioned in ur post u changed to reserve the first time u said 388km and 67 kmpl

u hit reserve when u feel bike has no petrol in normal and u turn knob to reserve

even discover 125 normal version has a 10l tank and a 2.3litre reserve out of which 1.2 is unsable
5.1 litres reserve is unheard of in any bike in this category
why would a company keep half its fuel tank capacity for reserve?? it is very strange

              ST owners please clarify
when ur bike goes into reserve(u have to turn ur knob to reserve) and u fill ur tank to brim...what amount of petrol goes in...
i added about 6.5 ltrs after my bike went in reserve and it was not upto the brim

hence tank capacity is 7 ltrs (normal) + 3.5 ltrs (reserve) = 10.5 ltrs

                Hey guys ,
Their had been a quite few discussion about the fuel tank capacity . Today i personally went to bajaj service center to check this out.
The real picture is , as per the manual which says it can hold 10.5 liters , is measured till the starting of the stem only . if you fill till the brim , extra 1 to 2 liters are added. so making the capacity around 12 to 13 liters.
And about the reserve part , it has 5.1 liters of reserve. It is the biggest in the segment. Out of which 3.5 liters is usable and 1.6 liters is unusable.

So by adding more 1 liter to the previous calculation . which is 388.6 km distance covered in roughly 6.5 liters . Am getting FE of roughly 59 .

Great. I have bought my bike from the same dealer.
Have you selected the bike from the lot?

Yeah i did. Theysaid a fresh lot had come a few days back so many bikes were available to choose from, almost 8-10
i just randomly picked one after examining a little bit. Most of them were wet and had signs of rust in the exhaust

Yeah i guess so but there seems to be little bit of difference between the various dealers plus due to the dwindling diesel prices some of these costs have been hiked i suppose..

@vicedens2002- how much did you pay?

As per autocar new Discover 100 (ST?) is going to be available from Dec-12. This bike shall be based on the D125 ST only, so we can expect lot of features carried on D100ST which might be segment first.

Rajiv Bajaj, Managing Director, Bajaj Auto has revealed in an interview with Executive Editor, Bloomberg UTV, Mini Menon that his company is burning the midnight oil to shortly introduce a new Discover. The latest Bajaj is confirmed to be a 100cc model, and aims to make it big in this high volumes segment of the market.
The Discover 100 is being built upon the recently launched, well received Bajaj Discover 125ST platform. Expect the 100 to sport similar styling to the handsome 125ST as pictured here, while both bikes shall share several key components. We know the new 100 will be generously equipped, using similar features as found on the 125ST, suitably tweaked for a 100cc commuter bike. The four-stroke, air-cooled and single-cylinder, 100cc engine will be tuned to deliver excellent performance and fuel-efficiency for this segment.
We’d expect to see upmarket kit like alloy wheels and a front disc brake available with the upcoming Discover 100, with Bajaj being clear in their strategy to ensure the Discover 100 does not become just another 100cc commuter bike, but a 100 that actually offers the best technology and specifications for its class.
The Discover 100 will slip into showrooms around this December priced around the Rs 50,000 mark, offering a whole lot more than its rivals for not so much more money.
