The Z250 is very much available in India. Bangalore showroom even has a test ride vehicle . You can check team-bhp for Z250 review.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostI have many reasons but it will be OT here. sorry for that.Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Check powerdrift they have done a nice review of z250. Also try searching international forums for this bike.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostHi guys...
Not sure this is the right thread but couldn't find suitable one. I have been following this thread for long time and i realized one thing.
There is no single Z250 owner in Xbhp ? iam interested in naked style and my preference is Z250. but when i started to research...i couldn't find any ownership comments in xbhp or anywhere from India. Is Z250 available for sale in India ? anyone from Chennai in particular.?
I cant stretch my budget for N300 & i prefer naked bikes and iam not interested in Benelli bikes.
Thanks ...
I have seen few and when seen from front you can easily confuse it with z800.
The front looks exactly similar to the big brother.
Just saying you have naked options like
Duke 390,200
Mahindra mojo
Also if you are ok with pre owned models you can try to get er6n for that price.

The On road price is 3.6L in chennai.
But the first service cost was around 5000 which includes oil change for 2550.? is it the usual cost for every service or the ASC is charging more. ?
The service charge alone was quoted 1500. I think this is also valid for Ninja 300 too.
one more clarification . whether i can use ninja as a replacement for my current bike Hunk.? i mean whether it can be easy to handle for everyday usage? this is the prime reason i am interested Z250 instead of N300, though N300 is much tempting.
And for the other bikes suggested, iam not fan of KTM's insane acceleration, added to that iam not much into "value for money" thing and i dont like mojo styling much. Anything above 300CC i cant afford for maintenance and spares cost. i have come to ninja by stretching my budget a lot.Last edited by dineshaugustin; 06-17-2016, 07:03 AM.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Ninja/R3 would give you mileage of around 23-25kmpl in the city and 28-30 kmpl on highway, ninja's each service costs around ₹4000-5000. Being CKD parts are also expensive but worth it. Quality is top notch. If you have budget of 3.6L do consider R3 also its maintenance cost is little bit low compared to N300 and VFM compared to Z250.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostThanks for the reply guys. .
Now if we look at Z250, amazing machine it is. I test rode it here in Raipur, it was awesome but then price tag and maintenance costs let's you think that if I can stretch my budget little more I can get R3/Ninja 300 which has better figures.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
I have gone through every post in R3 ownership thread. The only reason bothering me is how well i can use faired bike as my daily ride, i mean i wont be having my Hunk when i buy a new bike hence i need this to be my everyday ride. i think Z250 and R3 more or less same price. For me maintenance cost is more concerned than initial payment.Originally posted by Chandan92 View PostNinja/R3 would give you mileage of around 23-25kmpl in the city and 28-30 kmpl on highway, ninja's each service costs around ₹4000-5000. BTW how is the Z250 inside city performance ? i know it has not so good low end. Iam not expecting any brutal acceleration / torque like KTM , but atleast it should be able to do what sub 200cc bikes can do in city.
With respect to maintenance cost, what would be the cost of maintenance over the period of 1 year. ? Yes, the spares and service cost is hig, but when the service interval is bit more and spares lasts long then i think cost per year makes more sense than just cost per service.Last edited by dineshaugustin; 06-17-2016, 10:48 AM.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
If maintanance cost is what you are concerned about, I would ask you to go for R3. See the Ninja/Z250 uses FS oil from Motul and hence costs around 2.5k. But the 1.5k you stated for service is too much. KTM charges me around 700-800 for service charge, and that too is with whole fairing(including tank) dismantling + plug cleaning(heck of a job on a Ninja getting to the plug) and washing inside and outside of fairings which to me justifies the 800 paid.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostI have gone through every post in R3 ownership thread. Other than that, a zero dep insurance policy would help u a lot in any case of falling or dropping the bike.
For Z250 though, it wakes up very late, after around 6k rpm, but the handling is just mindblowing. The city handling especially. You have enough power in city riding as I think you dont need brutal acceleration inside city. Brakes are also sufficient but a steel brake line for front would take it to another level.
Over an year service costs would also remain the same as before the one year mark. All you would need to change are wear and tear parts + spark plugs.
I dont think thats a big issue.
Again, if you want naked, you got no choice in twin cylinder category other than this.
Or else, the R3 would do in your current budgetRide, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Thanks Ivin. I have kept R3 in my list too. but i kept Z250 in my preference because it is more or like my current bike to use it as everyday ride. otherwise i would have directly gone into R3 Vs N300 battle. Anyhow if the R3 is also easy to handle inside the city i wouldnt mind consider R3 over Z250, afterall both are much reputed brands. I will have to follow R3/N300 thread continuously before making my decision.Originally posted by Ivin View PostIf maintanance cost is what you are concerned about, I would ask you to go for R3. BTW I just gone through N250 thread briefly. seems like the spares cost is way too high than R3.
Still not in a position to make decision. Anyhow i have some time to make my decision so till then i will be closely following the thread.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Exactly the same dilemma I was in a few months ago! Z250 Vs R3. I was in the same situation. I liked to ride naked bikes and test riding the Z250 got me to love the machine. Its very peppy and easy to cut through traffic. And after 6k rpm it gives a surge of exciting power. But on the other hand i had a choice like R3 which was a very good value for money, less maintenance cost and more power. So i took my decision to go with the R3 considering the following,Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostThanks Ivin. - More power and low end torque
- More value for money
- Prospect of getting better resale value in case of an upgrade or you have to sell your bike
- Lesser maintenance cost
- And after taking a series of test rides I found the Yamaha easy to handle in traffic also(Took test rides in heavy Bangalore traffic). It feels very sleek once you mount on it.
Some of the cons of going with Yamaha is poor service. Unless you standby and bug the service people your bike will be handled like any other non premium commuter bike at the service centre unlike the kawasaki where you will get good care for your bike.

And yes, You can also keep the bmw g310r in mind as the launch looks just around the corner.Originally posted by dineshaugustin View PostThanks Ivin. Agreed. Important reasons to consider R3 over Z250Originally posted by Akash Edathodathil View Post- More power and low end torque

Its relatively new bike and i have to wait for 1 year to know more about it. and pricing has been speculated as around 3lks (R3 and ninja territory) . Anything above 2.5L is bit on higher side considering its just produced in inida. End of the day i would end up paying for the brand rather than bike itself.Originally posted by Akash Edathodathil View PostAnd yes, You can also keep the bmw g310r in mind as the launch looks just around the corner.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Hey Guys
Had few question about the N300
I service the bike at 1400 kms and the bike has now clocked 1600kms which is the break in period complete.
So do I need to service the bike again. (as far as knowledge goes I stick to the service routine)
Can I start riding the bike without worrying about the RPM. As in go past the 6000RPM
Is there any RPM lock on the Ninja as the service guy said to get the bike and he will increase the RPM.
Thanks & Regards,
Lemuel
