Ok guys, I am removing the offer I made in the above post. Sorry about that. I got the tank pad yesterday and it was love at first sight. So decided to put them on today and did just that.
Also did a round trip from Bangalore to Calicut via Salem, Coimbatore, Cochin, Calicut. It was 770 kms of awesomeness. Bike performed really well.

Saw the new colours first time on road. Wasn't impressed once, now I totally loved it. She stands out from the crowd.

If this was the color scheme some months back, I would have fell for it. I couldn't go with plain green color somehow, I tried to but no.
Anyhow there are very nice color scheme's in Sweden models. I wish we would have those here.Click image for larger version

Hi folks. Hope you all having a good time with your own Ninja 300. I am too having a great time with mine. And those who are following this thread just to know whether they should buy the 300 or not. I wish you guys all the best. Now coming to the point for what I thought to post on this thread is that after a long time 6oss (my bike, her name is 6oss) is getting a full system exhaust that quite fits my budget and is the best for the money I feel. So a GPR GPE TITANIO RACING FULL SYSTEM EXHAUST SYSTEM is on its way and apart from that I am gonna do some serious mod regarding the handling. Though the Ninja 300 is one of the best handlers in the segment. I wanted something more so I am going with USD suspension . Also I thought of much powerful brakes and I always dreamt of owning a bike with dual discs. While getting the 300 I had the option of N650 but I went for the 300. Many of us has gone through the same so must be knowing the reason why 300. So after lots of planning and thinking and discussing things with MOTOZONE (those who know them, well and good, for those who don't, they are tuners based in Pune/Mumbai and almost every 300 from here are handled by them).
So discussing with them we planned to customise the front end with USD forks with dual discs, custom made clip ons and bottom and upper tripple tree clamps and the knuckles to hold the either of the disc plates . Works on it have already been started. Will be posting the updates as the work will progress .

Posting some pics of the CAD design for the knuckles that will fit the forks and will hold the rotors Click image for larger version

Update: 12,000+ Km Duration: 1 year 1 month Accessories: Puig Frame sliders, Handle bar raiser (planned)

Occasion: ONE ride to remember for sometime to come as a close friend (Hifi_sharu) is about to let go of his ride (WhiteKnight) for better things. So lets go !

Route: Bangalore-Chenarayapatna- Arsikere- Tarikere -(Change of plans)- Tarikere - Shimoga- Thirthalli- Agumbe - Someshwara- Koteshwara- Kundapura (Halt)- Murudeshwar- Kumta (Halt) - Sirsi - Siddapura - Sagara- Shimoga - Chitraduraga - Bangalore

Distance: 1200+km Duration: 3 days Trip Mileage: 27-29 kmpl

Started early - 4:30AM to be precise on a friday. Rode in darkness on the highway till Bellur cross CCday following which the sun rose. But the real fun started once we deviated off the highway. The roads from Chenarayapatna - Arsikere are peaceful - Less traffic, 70-80kmph cruising speeds, decent tarmac sweeping right to left and over the hill with trees all along. As far as I can remember, this stretch has retained its charm all along.

After this short break, the initial plans to head to some place near Shimoga for breakfast all changed at a instance, when we stopped at a railway crossing. We all were looking at the hills and they were simple too inviting.

Small detour- Breakfast was now at Coffee n Pepper, which is close to Mulleyanagiri (Past Lingadalli), cooler weather, warmer omelettes and ok "coffee".

It was about 11:15AM by the time we started towards Tarikere again.

As soon as you get down from these roads and join Tarikere, the traffic is really annoying all the way to Shimoga. But then the best stretch of road awaited for us post Shimoga towards Agumbe.

                Bhadra Forest Reserve

We stopped at Thirthalli for lunch and around 2 started the slow assent to Agumbe. Some of the best stretches of roads my Ninja has laid its rubber on. Except for the Agumbe-Someshwara stretch, which got a little annoying after 7-8 hours of riding but following a tender coconut at the at the Y fork following Someshwara, the right turn made all the stress disappear as we were greeted by a shaded-tree canopy filled butter smooth state highway all the way to Kundapura (Halt for the night).

Next day was planned with one intent - "Ride short - Relax more" and accordingly had made reservation at a beach resort just 110 km from Kundapura. Right from the moment go, this stretch had its own set of surprises in terms of people riding, driving, crossing roads, overtaking styles etc. The first 60km was one of the most taxing stretches in this trip. Personally, would not recommend this stretch to any rider who is partially or bit tired as this demands complete concentration and attention always on the roads all along. It is not worth the risk !

Anyhow, stopped for one more round of tender coconut at Murudeshwar as the 60km was quite taxing.

Started back and things started to improve as one gets close to Honnavar. The construction has not really reached that far.

Relaxed at the beach resort, got a beautiful sunset, good night sleep and started back to Bangalore around 7:30AM next morning.

Kumta-Sirsi-Siddapura route is beautiful and contrasting from the previous day highway ride. Appreciate a fellow N300 rider's (Sunil Hegde, Bangalore) recommendation on the route. Reached Shimoga by afternoon. Following which we made a mistake of taking Shimoga-Chitradurga 104 km stretch to cover distance faster, and we all were lucky to hae reached Chitradurga by 3:00PM without punctures or any other possible mishaps- two words - BAD ROADS !

Anyhow that ended following which Chitradurga to Bangalore was a smooth ride as always with highway ensuring lesser surprises. At the end, a ride to cherish for times to come for us friends and to share. Reached home by 7:00PM.

Ride thoughts: Ninja 300 clearly showcased its strengths in real world touring scenarios - on highway, ghats and especially when road quality starts to deteriorate (Compared to the other two). While the last 600km ride was all highway, this one was mixed set of roads and there was not much to complain. Yes, it is no off-road touring bike & yes the seat could be been better padded for a 10+ hr/day ride but for everywhere else she does things effortlessly and keeps munching miles all day long.

P.S: Hifi_Sharu has posted his experience on his Striple ownership thread on the same trip, hence one might find some thoughts and pictures a repeat.

Ride safe and have fun !

Why you need it ? To save cost ? I suggested My R3 friends to switch to motul. Nothing spooky, but a fully synthetic oil costing less than a semi synthetic oil is confusing. And moreover Motul does the job brilliantly well.

Thanks Neil. I use OLYMPUS EPL-2 (Micro four thirds) with 9mm BODY CAP LENS for most of my rides now days.
