That's nonsense. There is no such rpm lock. You can enjoy your bike now.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Stick to the service routine now.Originally posted by diaslemuel View PostHey Guys
Had few question about the N300
I service the bike at 1400 kms and the bike has now clocked 1600kms which is the break in period complete.
So do I need to service the bike again. (as far as knowledge goes I stick to the service routine)
Can I start riding the bike without worrying about the RPM. As in go past the 6000RPM
Is there any RPM lock on the Ninja as the service guy said to get the bike and he will increase the RPM.
Thanks & Regards,
Lemuel
There is nothing like rpm lock for ninja.
You can very well take it till 12000 rpm if you wish

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Not much is there. Check oil level , tyre pressure and ride it. A detailed PDI is already on this forum. You can find it.Originally posted by link2arj View PostHello Ninjas,

I dont know whats the process Kawasaki follows to find the engine manufactured date or month.
You can see the 10th digit of chassis number and see if its 2015 or 2016 manufactured.
AFAIK, no new N300 is there of 2015 model in India as of now. The special edition is 2016 model.
Dont think too much.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Update
Odo reading (completed) :18000+kms Accessories (to date): Puig Frame sliders, RoaringToyz risers, ConvexMirrors add-on
It took about 15 months for my Ninja to go from 0 km-15000 kms on the odo
but then .... the next 3000km took 5 months
. A big reason being the hot summer in the Bangalore region this time, really did not encourage long day rides
. Anyhow occasional ride-outs just to keep the bike running/ breakfast meets were happening ofcourse.
Due in these 5 months was the thought of a new shoes for the Ninja (Michelin vs Pirelli) and that finally happened by the end of summer. Decided to go for Michelin over Pirelli for a simple reason that - I might... I might do track day once over the coming year but I will definitely do another 15k in the next 12 months or so. hence, it was kind of a no-brainer - Stuck to Michelin set of shoes for this time (replaced front and back ~INR 10k) .
With that thought off my mind, the very next thought was where to ride now
. Considering things were cooling down in the south with rains, it had to be a longer ride to a place never been before. Between Dhanushkodi and Valparai, it finally boiled down to VALPARAI. The reasons were simple, lets do a monsoon ride on the ninja with its new set of shoes and visit a this place in the hills in the heart of monsoons. Weather forecasts - 90% rains..awesome!!! A fellow Xbhpian and friend from Mysore - Sreeni joined on his Z800.
Distance: 980kms round trip
Route: Bangalore- Kanakpura - Malvalli - Kollegal - Chamarajnagara - Puliampatti- Annur (Lunch stop) - Somanur - Karanampettai - Palladam-Pollachi Highway - Pollachi - Valparai (reached @ 5:30PM - Halt)- Sholyar Dam - Valparai (Halt-Left at 9:00 AM) - Pollachi - Palladam - Avinashi - Erode- Salem (Lunch stop) - Dharmapuri - Krishnagiri - Bangalore (reached home at 7:00PM)
Overall route had sparse traffic (minus the Salem bypass), The trickiest bit of road was actually descending the hills approaching Satyamangalam/Puliampatti where we witnessed this unique behavior among the traffic in the hills. At hairpins turning left uphill, the downhill traffic comes and parks itself to the right side of the road on the on-coming lane while the up-hill traffic takes a long left and continues on the adjacent lane before going back to their "intended" lane (sounds confusing ?
). Its weird but it works
somehow. Anyhow bikers doing this stretch, watch out for such nuances.
All roads have good tarmac on both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu side. Just watch out for gusty winds between Karanampettai - Pollachi. You get to see wind farms on the way but you hold onto your bike
. Enjoy the pics.

Michelin review:
For the first few kilometers post installation, the tires felt scary to ride on and I was like
. When I spoke to fellow "Michelin shoe wearing Ninja" owner, he too had felt the same. So, decided to give it some time for the tires to set in (400-600kms) before pushing it. Thankfully things started to get better with every ride and the fellow rider also confirmed the same and when the Valparai ride came, I hoped it would continue to improve for the good and it did.
First ride to valparai and first long ride for the Michelins where it will ply on roads under pouring conditions. Overall it held itself well over the ~1000km ride. (4/5 rating)
IMHO I think, they are very good for National highways/state highways or interior roads, dry -> moist road conditions (drizzle sorts)
But if it is pouring/ has poured in the hills with water puddles/flowing waters, I would advise to be bit more cautious. Water + wet "sandy" gravel in the corners are to be handled with extreme caution. The tire gives you good feedback as to what is happening underneath but I would recommend to depend on it within your own limits.
Ride safe and have fun !!!tour-master on exile

Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
^^ roshan3440, this is a really nice travelogue. In your journey till 18k (many more happy km's to come I wish), how has the bike performed?
A mini longterm review would be greatly appreciated.Last edited by rylan; 07-17-2016, 04:02 PM.

"In your journey till 18k (many more happy km's to come I wish), how has the bike performed? " is too broad of a query to respond.
I would insist (if you have not) to do a quick scan through all the write-ups on this thread including my own initial impressions of the bike to till date (there are not many pages on this Ninja300 ownership experiences unlike few others threads on this forum
). That should clear or raise more queries about Ninja300 ownership from a touring/performance/serviceability perspective.
Shoot those queries, then I or anyone in this forum, would be able to give you specific inputs which would be more helpful.tour-master on exile

roshan3440 : Awesome travelogue, if you are from Bangalore, hope we can go for one such drive in future.
I sourced RoaringToyz risers through ebay.com and got it delivered without paying anything extra like import tax. I am eyeing Puig (Frame sliders + Rear tyre huggers) & double bubble windshield, do you know if we can get these in India at competitive rates.
Also need your guys advice on air pressure to me maintained on Ninja 300 with pillion.Regards,

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
I have not found a good VFM screen here in India. Personally, those "Double bubble" sold on Ebay are not to my liking. I would personally prefer sourcing Corsa/Sport touring from ZG. You can get it at Thirumala Motors (retails @<90USD in US v/s INR7500 here).Originally posted by link2arj View Post@roshan3440 : Awesome travelogue, if you are from Bangalore, hope we can go for one such drive in future.
