Guys, my white light in the LCD is flickering every once in a while and then sorting itself out.

Anyone facing such issues or am I the first?

Hi People. I am looking out for Ninja 300 as an upgrade but going through the Post I found that the service is quite costly in the showroom. My friend told that the original sprocket setup is of 14000 rs. For regular parts it would be fine for me but 14k for one part change seems costly. are there any good alternatives out in aftermarket? or in city Hyderabad if anyone knows for non showroom service center?

Has happenned with many. Its based on luck I guess on the ratio if you ask me. It slowly would fuse off in future. Either you need to change the bulbs from a renowned person who knows the stuff, or change the meter itself. Meter’s last known price was 52,000Rs. The new models might have come down, spare part prices arent known to me yet.
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

Has happenned. But I am not sure if it will happen to yours too. Purely luck I would say. Kindly get the meter top case changed if you notice any fogging or water entry(unavailable in India, use ali express). If just light is the issue, you will have to carefully strip off the LEDs and replace them with good quality ones. That should do the trick. LCD display going dead is extremely rare. Meter is made in India by Pricol. So maybe they sourced the white back light from some local vendors.

Only my LCD is flickering. Rest of the dash is good. No fogging or whatsoever. But stood in heavy rain once.

Also, mostly happens in idle and low RPMs. Once the revs pick up, I don't find the issue. Or I don't see them as I am busy navigating potholes, buses and stupid peoples.

Probably a loose connection ? Has happenned in the past. Remove the connection, clean it and try it again and notice if it happens after that.

Nah. Never happened in the past. Would probably give it a good round of cleaning in the next service and get a check on it. Hopefully it won't give up on me by then.

                  Thanks for the update though.

                    Hi,
I was thinking of buying the Ninja 300 but I am concerned about their pricing structure. I am from Chennai and there is just one showroom here as is the case with most cities in India. The show-room price was 2.98 and the on-road was 3.59L. This was before the recent mandatory 5-year 3rd party insurance thing - so the price must've have gone up now. They just had a registration amount, insurance and other charges - when I asked for a breakup of the "Other" component, they were being wishy-washy about it.

Anyone else faced the same issue from other dealerships here?

Also, anyone knows what's the recent price of spares is after the localization?

                      Hello All,

I just bought myself a Kawasaki Ninja 300 from JMB motors, Chennai after upgrading from a Yamaha FZ - S. I got a quotation from the sales executive for the bike with different serial numbers covering the ex-showroom price as Sr.No. 2, registration, road tax, handling charges, etc as 3, insurance as 4 and RSA as 5. The on-road price given to the dealer was Rs 351440 excluding insurance as I opted to take it by myself. However, I didn't find the purchasing experience satisfying till now. I ordered the bike in the month of August by paying a token amount of Rs. 25000 and was promised to get it delivered by 29th September. However Settling the complete payment by 25th September, I got my bike only on October 5th.

I got the invoice for the ex-showroom price of the bike first as I wanted to get insurance policy on my own and since then I've been demanding the rest of the receipts for Rs.53440((on-road price)-(insurance,ex-showroom)). I must say they're irresponsible and non-responsive on updating the customer about the documents. When I got the bike on hand, it was like a joyful moment, but unfortunately, when I think about getting all the required documents from the dealer, it again becomes a nightmare. I've been sending mails and calling them and they don't respond to mails and neither return the calls. The dealer just says they were busy with bike expo, etc. I find that response to be pathetic.

After getting the quote, I asked for the split up of Sr. No. 3 but the sales executive refused to give and after getting the bike, I asked the manager regarding the same and he told me Rs 30000 is for handling charges and rest is for Road tax and registration certificate. I have a doubt as I've seen in many places that it's illegal to take handling charges. Please guide me if it's permissible for the dealer to take handling charges from the customer. Also, there's no information given about the RSA, yet they took 3600 for that too. I've been trying to contact Kawasaki customer care about my queries but the contact number provided in their site is not returned. Please guide me if Kawasaki culture is like this so that I can get adapted to this. I have a lot of questions going on my mind and this community is my only hope.

                      For my bike,

I need to buy a frame slider, kindly suggest one and also the approximate cost for the same.

Attached is the quotation I got.

                        Hi gouthamsg,

Kawasaki dealers in every city some way or the other include these handling charges, i had to pay 7500 here in Bengaluru for my Z650.
Since you have already paid the amount in full, you should definitely talk to them and request a part refund or else to give you accessories against that. Also the RSA is not chargeable, the option was removed recently and the dealer in Bengaluru informed me that RSA is now covered within 200Kms radius of any Kawasaki showroom for all bikes at no extra charge but even i am yet to find the contact information for the same.

If the dealer is unresponsive I suggest you drop an email to Kawasaki India and cc to Kawasaki Japan. This should wake up the local dealer. But it is true that the customer experience with Kawasaki leaves much room for improvement as also their service centres. Fortunately, the bike more than makes up for a lousy experience.

Thanks for your reply Preson, I've called the Kawasaki toll free and conveyed the same. They said they'll resolve the issue ASAP. My question is that 30k handling charges for a 2.98l is obnoxious. And about the RSA, even the Kawasaki customer care Rep wasn't aware of it and he said, both of this will be resolved sooner.

The experience with Kawasaki Chennai was disappointing. I had a pride of going and buying a Kawasaki but all went down to ashes when I went there a couple of times. One of the sales executive himself told that they wanted to focus more on customers who buy big bikes and those are "potential customers". However, they don't have the courtesy to respond to the customers and let the customers know what they're paying for. This manager who dealt my purchase just said 30k is for handling charges and I wouldn't be getting any bills or invoices and just a receipt that I gave them 30k. I confirmed with 3 RTO's in Chennai and all of them acknowledged that the dealer shouldn't be doing this and advised me to get proper bills or get a refund as all the charges are carried out in the RC fees iteself. Attached the mails sent and the whatsapp screenie for his message.

I purchased Ninja300 from Kawasaki Vizag! Even they tricked me to pay 30k extra for no bill. They mentioned 3500rs for RSA, which I deniedto pay! Regarding the handling charges, I contacted kawasaki India too many times regarding this fraud . Better late than never, IKM responded and with peer pressure upon the dealership, resolved my issue!
