Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Has anybody heard of thermostat valve? I hear a valve opening kind of noise when the engine is hot. The noise comes when the throttle is closed. The noise is similar to knocking but the difference being, while knocking happens when the throttle is opened this noise occurs when the throttle is closed.
I spoke to the svc head in Ghatkopar and he said about the "thermostat valve" in ninja, and its functioning. He said it was normal.
I googled about it and also checked Ninja 300's service manual. It confirms what the Service Center Head said.
Wanted to check with other owners as well. Guys please contribute as this thread is almost dead.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Well i guess its radiator thermostat valve... Are you hearing it during warm up?? If yes then its Radiator thermostat... What it does is, it blocks coolant from circulating through radiator when engine is cold,so that engine warms up faster. When engine reaches warm temperature, thermostat valve opens and coolant flows through radiator for cooling. Hope this helps [emoji4]Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostHas anybody heard of thermostat valve? I hear a valve opening kind of noise when the engine is hot. Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Its not in my hands yet. I have ordered from sbkstore.in. However, I am in 2 minds now. My friend got AGV K3, and he says visibility is little less. He said visibility when you peek over your shoulder while riding is less.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostChinmay, did you source is from Dainese bangalore ? Visibility and weight are the 2 important criteria. I am now looking at HJC FG17 Phoenix. Let me know what you feel.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
I heard a Ninja 300 fitted with an aftermarket dual ---- (4 letter name of company, not writing it) exhaust, and it sounded really loud and irregular. I wonder why would anyone waste their 30k on such loud exhausts, and ruin the beautiful humming of the twin cylinders. There was no musical firing, no systematic rythm, just loud diwali patakhas going off irregularly with the rpm. Am I wrong in my assessment?

The quote button on the app seems broken. It quotes some other random post. Anyways
I find that rather strange because what the k3 has a wider view angle than normal helmets in our market. The peripheral vision it offers is quite good.
Though you have to adjust the position a bit downward to leverage more freedom to turn your head around than usual.
Once again the peripheral vision is a lot better than others.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Hi all,
Fell in love with ninja 300 after seeing its launch pics. My budget is around 2.5 lakhs but I can stretch to 4lakhs for my dream bike. My concern is the maintenance costs.
Please post the mileage(since bike will mainly be used for touring), service costs and spare part costs.
Thought of RC390 but its aggressive posture is holding me back. Duke 390 is out as I love faired bikes.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
You can never go wrong with the baby Ninja! The comfort levels and touring capabilities plus smoothness of a ninja can't be expected from the 390. The ktm is meant for different things. If only Honda would have cared enough to give us a 300cc or 400cc twin......Originally posted by Reinhard_Hyd View PostHi all,

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
The RC 390 is absolute VFM and it's only possible because it's manufactured in India. I suggest you go over the RC 390 ownership threads as well since it's not as hard to live with like most suggest , it's all about getting used to a new riding posture.Originally posted by Reinhard_Hyd View PostHi all,

Elsewhere KTM and NINJA are priced on par. The difference if 1.5 lakh comes only because it's attracting huge import duties.
Of course if your heart is all set on the Ninja 300 , forget this reasoning.
