Do let us know which slider you chose, the cost and how you sourced it. A detailed review would be nice but at least a brief one is a must

Well, I am from Arunachal and we don't even have a branch of Lombard in our state. I was told I could still get the insurance from Assam and now you are saying their response is not good. But they do sell 0 dep policy, right? If yes, how much is the premium per year?
You got me hooked. Please do share your updates, I would be looking forward to it specially the insurance part.

One can do insurance from other state. All new Harleys, Triumphs here are brought from Kolkata and insurance is done from there. Later one can always renew online. You can also get the bike from Guwahati and later register it in Itanagar. They do sell zero dep. But I guess its the ignorance of people that they have not got much customers. Premium would be 8k+.

Once I got the bike ready, it took me couple of weeks to get comfortable on it. I commute 60 KMs daily on my Ninja, so getting used to the gearing of this twin pot takes some time. Once comfortable, I was all set to carry out the mods mentioned before. I called up Mr. Vikram from Motozone and fixed an appointment for the below mods.

1. Change of brake pads to Brembo sintered pads
2. Installation of detent arm from Factory Pro.

Other mods like change of brake line is scheduled for next month.

Ninja already has a smooth engine and equally smooth gearbox. With installation of detent arm, shifting has become lot more precise and smooth. There is a noticeable difference in shift qualty, and quick shifts have become lot more easy. However, just like the R15, this is a high revving motor, so it loves to be shifted higher up.

I will pass the verdict once I have done 10,000 kms with the new detent arm. Initial impression is quite good.

A special mention about Mr. Vikram. His way of working is just great. I had never seen a torque wrench in my life, and I was pleasantly surprised to see him use the torque wrench to tighten all the bolts. His work is very systematic, and you feel happy that your bike is in the right hands.

I have never been disappointed either by his work or by his words. He never says no to anything you ask for. You want a Nuke installed on your bike, and he may have a plan for that. Just kidding

Regarding Brembo pads, these are just awesome. Braking has become sharp and stopping distance has reduced a lot. Modulating the brakes while taking a corner has also become very smooth. the bite is there, however, it is not too hard to cause unwanted lock ups.

I have used Nissin sintered pads before this. If stock pads are 5/10, Nissin are 7/10 & Brembo ones are definitely 9/10. With brakes, I do not like ones that are too sharp, that will lockup easy and has very little room for modulation. With Brembo pads, braking has just become perfect which was the Achilles heels for the 300.

I am expecting braking to improve further with installation of HEL brake lines next month.

Coming back to your topic of getting confused between RC and Ninja, it depends on what you desire from the bike. If you are looking for VFM and dont care too much about quality, refinement, reliabilty then RC is for you. If you can live with minor niggles or dont mind visiting service center apart from regular service then RC is for you. Yes, RC is lot quicker and faster than the 300.

A Ninja 300 buyer is clearly not looking for VFM from his machine or isn't exactly looking for more bhp per Rupee. He is somebody who loves and appreciates quality. Trust me each and every component gives same performance through out its life. Performance is consistent and there are no niggles that would worry you.

If I were to buy a bike today, I would choose Ninja over RC again. And, it is true, Ninja grabs lot more attention than RC. Park them side by side, or park one ninja among a group of RC, and Ninja still grabs lot more attention.
How much did the brembo sintered brake pads cost?

Second service done at 6600 kms. Everything went as planned . Didnt feel more smooth after oil change as it was already too smooth . No complaints, just loving it .

Very use thread. chinmayankar and animeher, good job. I am very inclined towards N300 because of recently bad experience with Bajaj. The only concern is price. It's 4lakhs + on road. If someone can add another 1 lakh then ER6N is pretty much a massive upgrade. The -ve point for ER6N is that absence of ABS and slipper clutch. While N300 doesn't sport ABS but it does have slipper clutch. Have sent so many mails to the kawasaki guys regarding future plan of providing ABS and Slipper clutch on all their models but in vain. It's really frustrating.

Anyway, keep up the good work and happy riding.

Interestingly I have noticed that most of the owners have previously owned a Bajaj product and now they have moved to Kawasaki. Seems like I am not the only one who got frustrated with Bajaj finally !!

Even me, for once, was very inclined towards ER6N because price diff between N300 and ER6N is just about 1 lakh!!. I would never try such powerful bikes w/o ABS though. I sincerely wished if Kawasaki guys were listening to us.

My Ninja is doing its city duty very well. The softening of seats by adding cushions helped a great deal to make the ride easier. HIDs illuminate the road extremely well.

I am noticing that whenever I ride alone, hard braking makes the bike fishtail. I usually use 50-50 front and rear brakes, but still feel that rear has a tendency to dance when I brake suddenly. Perhaps I should use engine braking more. This never happens when I am with pillion.

We will have monsoon in 2 months, any special preperations? I am planning to get a rickshaw rubber mudflap for the rear fender, because currently it sprinkles all the mud over the pillion. Wonder how some people can ride with the fender removed. Any additional suggestions?

In rains, I hate to ride behind anyone who has cut their rear fender. Just for a few photography opportunities, they make sure that the mud gets sprayed on them and everyone riding/driving behind them. I don't want to become one of them just because Kawasaki's rear fender was not designed for Indian conditions.

Originally posted by wallpapers123 View Post

Do you have an alternative? I am not converting it to a rickshaw. But at the same time, don't want to risk my or pillions clothes or people driving behind me just so that bike looks good while we get muddy. Rickshaw mudflap is just an example because everyone knows how it looks. Many cars too hang similar flat behind their rear tire.

I rode on wet roads in last tour, and mud was sprayed on saddle bags, pillions back and even her helmet! I would rather have the flap to manage the mud spray.

And advise to sell for wanting to make the bike more useful? Ha ha, that's a first one for me

I saw a product online: http://shop.redlineplus.in/5-safety-...ender-ffx.html

Has anyone done anything similar?
