Guys I have a problem with my ninja 300. And it's the handle. I don't know what's the issue but please tell me if it has happened with someone else too. My handle keeps getting heavy I don't know why, and I have to get it loosened up from the service center. This happened to me twice in less than 2 months now. It's not the tire pressure nor any puncture in the tire. And when I leave the handle at 50-60 kmph or above the handle starts vobbling. The bike goes straight when I leave the handle at slow speeds or when the handle isn't vobbling. Please help.

And I also need to know if I can do anything about the mud/water that comes at the rear seat and the pillion rider from the rear tire when I'm riding in the rain or on wet roads. It has destroyed a lot of my friends shirts and sometimes mine too......this problem keeps me away from riding my bike in monsoon

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks ..

It should be te tires. Even the Ninja 250R with the same stupid IRC tires had this issue . If I remember correctly, it was Xbhpain trustvishwas who had got this test done by Kawasaki themselves. It was figured out to be a tire problem. Even my R15 had the issue and a tire change sorted it out.
I guess over 90% of those who use the IRC has this issue of wobbling after you run in some kms.
Tire might look great, but wont perform great
Ride, ride and ride.. But always do it responsibly..

I had the same issue, get the steering bearing checked and the tyre replaced. In my case l had steering bearing complaint and the forks had different amount of oil. When I drained the oil one had more oil than the other which lead to uneven tyre wear which ultimately lead to wobbling

Thats the first time I am hearing something like that from Kawasaki. How much did your bike run ? And from which showroom did you service when it happened?

Check the cone-set. If possible install tapered bearings from "All Balls Racing". A lot of us on the forum have done that, changed tyres and switched to taper bearings.

Regarding mud, clean it up after every ride and wear a jacket when riding in rain or muddy conditions.

Guys need advice on below items that are mentioned in Owners manual. These items are mentioned to be done at 12000, 24000, 48000 Kms and so on.

              1. Engine vacuum synchronisation
              2.
              Air Suction system
              3. Valve clearance

Has anybody got these done from Service Centers in Mumbai? I have no issues with my bike, and I am not too confident about letting mechanics touch anything on the bike unless it is broken.

I am sorry if this is discussed in the past, however I couldn't locate it. May be my searching skills need improvement.

              Thanks in advance.

Basically they are Pune based and on weekends they are in Mumbai.
If you aren't from Mumbai /Pune , they can ship it to you .
And for pricing, they would be the best to speak to.

So it is that time of the ODO when it starts to approach 10000 km in 9 months and I sit to share some snippets of those rides that made it happen.

Now from my last post (quite some time ago , in March/April 2015), I have been busy with work. But always thinking and trying to squeeze one ride in the weekends, atleast a coffee/breakfast or may ride to a nearest hill stations.

Destination: Yelgiri, Pondicherry, Yercaud and breakfast/cafe rides. Below are some pic from each of those rides.

                      Yelgiri

                      Pondicherry

                      Breakfast ride

As you can see, I ride with fellow buddies usually unless it is to a place such as Mysore on personal work. But going ahead, I want to attempt some bigger rides which could be solo (Kanyakumari-Dhanushkodi/ Munnar-Valapari/Ooty-Conoor-Coorg etc). So, as an home work to that experience, did a solo 400+ km ride through the interior roads connecting Bellur cross and Hiriyur and back.

There was an attempt to do a "photoshoot" as well with fellow buddies - Hifi_sharu/Shreeni/Myself

I guess service will be soon due. No upgrades from the time i shared my ownership experience- the bike is pretty much stock. Will update once the service happens.

Looking forward to many more miles on this motorcycle as it is very much capable of doing long distances without breaking sweat on the highway and really does not complain when the roads are not so ideal/highway. The mileage ( 27.xx-30.xx kmpl) gives it a phenomenal range to just keep going on and on and on. On a full tank, from Bangalore, I could reach the outskirts of Pondicherry and then it went into reserve. Consumption was 14ltrs for 380 kms.

Anyhow, if the handle bar raisers are put-in (checking out Roaringtoys/BlackPath/Others) and may be a higher touring screen (ZG Sport touring), it should make the overall riding experience much more relaxed (reduced lean and wind buffeting).

Will keep you guys posted on my ownership experiences time to time. . Wishing you all safe and joyful miles !

I have had the luxury to ride all of them and all of them are special. Wish you success in owning all of them one day in your garage (BTW what do you own presently ?)

Now Niggles and issues if any. Hmmm.... first of all no issue have come up.

At a product level, niggles are below

                          - The rear tire throws slurry onto the rear seat when it rains. Not as much as Street triple but definitely not as little/near zero as P220 . That is a bit annoying- to ride in the rain or over a puddle of water.
                          - The mirrors can have a slightly wider stem as my arm comes in the way ( I have previously stated this). Mirror wideners from SW Motech are almost 5k , Need to solve this niggle by some better "value for money" solution.
                          - There is a buzz in the rear foot pegs at higher revs (8k+) which I think can be improved with some padded pegs. Few of the forums in the US have DIY solutions for it. But since I mostly ride myself and not 2-up, it does not becoming an burning issue. Whenever, it is 2-up the other person is wearing sports shoes/any shoes and that helps to reduce the buzz
                          - In broad sunlight, the "turn indicator" indicator on the console is not very obvious when turned on. This could lead to riding with the indicator on for one side , leading to confusion for others on the road which is irritating. But a simple film-dark tint/smoke tint on the stock screen will solve this issue.
                          - Wish there was a Hazzard switch !

That is about it. Hope this helps.

I ride P220 right now, same blue one as your dp!

Any complaints about vibes? International magz keep complaining about vibes lol I find twins to be very smooth.

I'm waiting for the R3 to show up man and then will take a call between the two 300s. Then will ping you for a ride.

With Ninja 300 - I do not think there is any angle in which it looks ok. It has right amount of positive and negative surfaces all over. Very well sculpted overall. Only complain if any, would be increase the perception of weight upfront. This would increase the overall BIG bike feel. Now it slightly looks like an angry cat, but with increased surface upfront would make it look like a grown up angry cat - My plans of ZG Sport touring/Corsa screen in smoked grey does exactly that.

R3 should be out in showroom right ? test rides and stuff ? No ?

On the vibrations query, other than the buzz in the foot pegs (more pronounced at lower rpms ~8k or so at the pillion's foot pegs and may be 12k+ on the rider's pegs), there is no such issue that I have felt. Mirrors, everything works like a charm at any revs and I mean ANY REV !

Definitely, ping me once u have picked your next ride.

Also, I would definitely recommend you to check out second-hand well kept Ninja 650 (upgrading from P220). It is definitely an option worth considering IMHO if you are stretching your budget to 4L+. Of-course maintenance would be slightly on the higher side (especially tyres and wear parts etc) but worth a shot. Might last a bit longer in your garage due to its versatility of 2-up riding and that riding stance.
