Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
And this was the day I feared the most! Lights turned green, halfway through the intersection, a college kid came in across, hit me at the exhaust. I couldn't get what happened and by that time, it was out of control and skidded. Right fairing got some bruises, cracked at bottom and top. Also, the part below the headlight got a crack. Footpeg okay, but brake lever turned U. Part holding the footpeg, brake lever to the chassis is torn off. Rear side cowl where 300 is written came off and some deep scratches, cracked.
How much would be the estimated cost of the parts? And moreover, how do we claim insurance? Haven't claimed any on my previous bike till now!
P.S. Insurance (zero dep) was availed out of the showroom, private company.

Hope you are fine. with no hurts.
Check some of these things before giving it to SVC.
1. Whether they have Cashless option available. This is a tie up with SVC and insurance company.
2. Getting these spare parts may take Minimum of 3 Weeks to Max 3 Months so before giving to SVC check whether they can provide you the bike in ride able condition till the spares reach.
The Prices of some Spares as per the bill I Paid.
Rear Seat Cowling : Rs. 2496.00
Exhaust Muffler : Rs. 22713.00
Step Holder (Foot Rest) : Rs. 3152.00
Exhaust Muffler Cover: Rs. 6049.00
Exhaust Muffler Cover End : Rs. 2008.00
Right Fairing : Rs. 10087.00
If the SVC doesnt have cash less you have to pay the whole bill and insurance company will reimburse it.
Ride Safe,.A next door biker..

The insurance was done from my end as the companies the showroom had tie up didn't had cashless + zero dep.
Even my insurance will not have cashless. Gave the bike to service centre yesterday. They are yet to punch in the spares order. Don't have any stock of any part. Lets see when it arrives!
The damages are
Cowling upper- 4831
Cowling side- 2812
Cowling central- 11365
Cowling seat side- 2885
Step Holder- 3553
Brake lever- 2671
Injuries are bruises and muscle ruptures in elbow, knuckle and ankle. Didn't use riding jacket and gloves as temperatures are over 35 degrees currently with humidity of 98%. Not possible due to the heat and evening traffic conditions.Originally posted by adithya.mv View PostHow are you now?? Any injuries??

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Hi Guys. Monsoons have arrived and I have been out of action on my Midori Jr for quite some time. Since my last update at 14000 kms I have barely managed to add 1000 more kms. However, with monsoons also comes the great opportunity to ride to Rajmachi if you are on this side of India. Yes, you read it right. I took my baby to Rajmachi.

2015 KAWASAKI NINJA 300 - My First Bike
Hello fellow xBhpians,
This is my first post in xBhp and I am really excited. I am 23, from Chennai and this is the story of my First Bike 2015 KAWASAKI NINJA 300 which I took delivery on 27th June 2015.
I am a Chartered Accountant (CA) by Profession and never owned a motorcycle before. I always wanted to own a bike since 8th Grade but thanks to my over caring and over bearing parents coupled with the over-hyped newspapers & television news with a mild immaturity at my end, I was ensured that I would never get a bike in this life or next.
Everything changed this May 2015, where I went on a Trip to Pondicherry with my office colleagues and we guys took 8 bikes on rental for a day. I drove a Pulsar 180 and the sheer feeling of the Wind Blast and the revving engine, exploded my inner desires which was quietly tucked far away for so many years.
Then I thought enough is enough and I bought my first bike for which my parents are still holding a faint grudge against me. I hope time would heal everything :P
Enough about me.
Coming to the Beauty which is hiding a monster underneath the faring.
My friends took me to the KTM Showroom in Adayar to check out the Newly Released RC 200 and popular Duke 200. When I entered the showroom, the Beauty in Green was quietly standing near the RC 390 and it was Love at First Sight.
I told my friends that I am not buying any other bike. My friends were skeptical and concerned as I never rode a bike before and to jump to a Super Sport 300 was neither a safe (nor) a prudent call. They told me to check other bikes and in fact took me to the Bajaj Showroom to see the Bajaj RS 200 or AS 200 before jumping to the conclusion. But I just could not forget the image stuck in my mind and checking out other bikes was just a formality as I already made my decision.
And then the day of delivery came and voila I ended by with a monster which I did not know to ride properly nor got a test ride.
WOW! I had never seen anything like it.
I have no words to describe my feeling and I have clocked a reasonable 500 kms in a weeks time and the twin engine feels legendary. Rides to Mahabs early mornings is like meditations and offers perspective to life when riding on edge.
I have not yet let the beast roar as I have to Break In 800 Kms at 4K RPM and another 800 Kms at 6K RPM as per "textbook" as I did not want to try the hard or variable break in as suggested by my friends.
Rides to Mahabs
Looking forward to meeting new friends and sharing our love for bikes.
I Will update the real experience of the Bike after I Break-in very soon and the Internet say the top speed is 194 kmph. Waiting patiently to let the Beast go wild.
Signing off.

perfect choice! Congrats ! dont worry about straight going to a 300 as long as you can control throttle for few hundred kms you will get used to power, get a good helmet and jacket/gloves and ride safe. You may also want to read the ninja thread by abhimanyu on the mods, and slowly start putting your identity on the ninjaOriginally posted by Akshay Arvind View PostHello fellow xBhpians,

Re: 2015 KAWASAKI NINJA 300 - My First Bike
Congrats buddy, and Good Luck. You are doing the right thing by following break in methods as per the book. Especially when are new to biking. Take it easy, and she will reward you with a very pleasant experience. Take care while braking, stock brakes require some getting used to. I found them to be wooden, and it was fine after I replaced the pads with Nissin sintered pads, and now Brembo.Originally posted by Akshay Arvind View PostHello fellow xBhpians,
And, please do not indulge with racers on the street, you will find many getting into your nerves. Hope, you have got 0 dep with your insurance. With 0 dep repairing the bike after a fall, is as cheap as fixing a 100 cc bike.

Re: Kawasaki Ninja 300 Ownership Experience
Guys,
What is the service interval of Ninja 300? The svc told me that it is 1 month or 1000kms for 1st service, after which it is every 3 months or 5000kms. Pl clarify. Also on average what is the max a normal service costs? I'm computing the cost of ownership to decide on the bike.
ThanksRegardless, Life shall go on.

Hi, 1st service is at 1000 Kms or 1 month. That is true.Originally posted by yellowspunk View PostGuys,

However, after that service interval is every 6000 kms or 6 months. However, oil change interval is at 12000 kms. That is if you stick to Motul grade, or other good oil.
I get the oil changed at every 5000 Kms. I dont wait that long. In the service all they do is change Oil filter and Oil, and clean the air filter. Ninja does not require anything else to be done at service.
You can lube the chain yourself every 500 Kms. No need to get that done from SVC. Chain does not require adjustment every service if you keep it lubed.
I have been to Service Center twice in last 15 months of ownership for service. Cost of service is
Cost of Oil - 2.4 litres
Cost of Oil filter - 800 bucks i think. Been very long.
Labour charge + Service tax and VAT
Chain sprocket lasts very long. I have done 15000 KMs and it looks like it will last another 10000 KMs.
Component failure is next to 0, hence you need not worry about spending on other things.
My yearly bill for maintaining Ninja 300 comes to little less than 10,000 bucks. That can be brought down, if you know a good mechanic who wont screw up simple task as Oil and Oil filter change.
I get it done by Motozone, and visit SVC every alternate service, just to keep my entry in their records in case of any warranty claims.

The road upto Della resorts is quite good. However, after that its the same off-road stretch all the way up. It is a favourite spot during rains for some good off-roading and slush riding.Originally posted by animeher View PostHow is the road to Rajmachi? Last time I rode (a few years ago) it was nothing but small rocks all over the ghaat road. Is it better now?
People said you cant take a Ninja 300 there. That set me up. I removed the side fairing, and she took Rajmachi without trouble. You got to let yourself free and not worry about the bike to enjoy the trail. I love my bike to a fault, and hence was very very careful.

Thank you so much. I would definitely be buying the Jacket, Gloves and Boots this week. I have no idea/knowledge about the Mods right now, but yes definitely later with help of fellow xBhpians like youOriginally posted by worrisomebear View Postperfect choice! Thank you so much for the valuable advise. I don't know how actual breaking feels like since this being my first bike. But with inputs from experienced users like yourself, if the riding experience is enhanced then definitely I would think of replacing them after hitting 3,000 Kms.Originally posted by chinmayakar View PostCongrats buddy, and Good Luck. Yes definitely. Sometimes bikers try to overtake me and since I can't go more than 60 kmph due to the break in period, I am controlling not to throttle past the rev range
. I even have to let scooters go past me
Thanks for the Insurance Tip, will look definitely into it.
