Re: 2013 kawasaki ninja 300 - rush is addictive

I booked mine on 11 April and since then there has been no communication from Vashi KTM, they said they'll call me once a bike is allotted to me...I suggest you keep pestering them for an earlier delivery or they'll keep mum
    Regards,

^^^ will need to that. Though, I am in no hurry. I cannot take delivery for the next 15 days. I take delivery of all my bikes and cars with my sister's blessings. Since she is traveling out of country for the next 15 days, will need to wait.

        Oh bugger!!
When will I get mine .
Gotta ask you this (tad OT). Your r15's setup is the 176cc block and if am right, that's gonna give the ninja a serious run for its money. I might be totally wrong.
If it was the old 250r I'd be ready to put my money where my mouth is

^^^ possibly. The R15 will remain a part of the family. Will keep working on it. Will also start working on the Ninja within 6 months of getting it. Already go a lot planned for it.

You've nicely described your story and also the first impression of the motorcycle is pretty neat, good job there mate
Now I, along with many others here are waiting for a proper, detailed owners review of the Ninja...don't keep us waiting long

Enjoy your new ride mate, good times are finally rolling
                  Congratulations once again! Keep riding...cheers!

Thanks bro and thanks a lot for coming. It was nice meeting you too and you really helped in inspecting the bike. Four eyes were better than two...
Well I have always preferred to stick to my first choice in any matter and have never regretted it so personally would suggest you to stick to yours as well. Going by the posts here the white seems to be the preferred choice of colour so the green will seem exclusive.

Is that the 2013 model? It looks way better than the previous models. I'm looking forward for further reviews. Ride safe.
Thanks bro. Well I have never seen the 2012 ER6F so don't know but Nikunj did say that it seemed like the 2013 model. I filled her up with normal petrol for 1100 bucks and planning on putting higher octane petrol on the next fill. I have to search for a petrol company in Mumbai that actually sells them as Speed (which is easily available) is just normal petrol with additives.

Any Mumbaikars who can direct me to an outlet that provides RON 95 or higher petrol in Mumbai?

Lucky to be in a metro where you have got the delivery so soon, unfortunately for us we have to wait for some time longer as even the press launch has not taken in our state till now (Scheduled on 26th in Chandigarh) so hopefully its going to be another month before people like me can lay our hands on our dream machines.
Thanks man... My (unofficial) office timings is not letting me ride her as much as I would want to .

I'm just confused as to why should there be a seperate press launch? The bike was launched on April 10 and the press launch was covered in Pune, so the bike should have hit all showrooms ASAP afterwards. Moreover, bookings started way before the official launch and that too in non metro cities as well. Weird and sad for you to wait this long . I was going mental the last 2 weeks and shudder to think what would be my mental state if I was in your shoes.

Second, you don't have to leave the clutch lever a long way. The N300 has a GP style clutch operation. So, you just flick the clutch lever, in little more than quarter of the distance and that would engage the clutch. It has been specifically designed in this manner to assist quick clutch and gear operation.
Thanks dude. I read your post yesterday in office and tried it out while driving back home. Yes, the gear engages with just a flick of the clutch lever but have to get used to this style now. Concentrating on roads and other drivers/riders made me revert back to my old style of pulling the clutch way back. Will have to put in a more concious effort now.

Congrats bro. Hope you get your bike soon. All Mumbai 300 owners can meet up and form our very own Mumbai group .

Just a couple of things that have been bothering me.

First, the right side fairing seems to have not been fitted properly, with a gap in between the petrol tank being pointed out by one of my colleagues. Should I wait till the first servicing (which should be in the next couple or so weeks) to take her to the service station or do I go there this weekend itself?

Second, the heating issue. The bike is heating up (which is normal) but my concern is that, on riding the bike, I can feel the heat uptil my thigh and that too just on my right leg. I have read on the ninja300 forum that other riders experienced less heat after the 1st servicing so is my concern genuine or should I let it be?

@ Arun rk sir- Yes, its probably normal. I have a R15 v2 , the heat can be felt only on right side. It did become less after some thousand kilometers

There are 2 that I know of; Bharat Petroleum, BKC and Bharat Petroleum Juhu Circle Road.

Yes, we will definitely meet. I may be wrong but I saw a white Ninja 300 on Western Express Highway at Jogeshwari around 11.00 am yesterday. Was that you?

Its not life and death, as long as it is not loose or rattling you can wait for a couple of weeks till your first service.

Nope, nothing to worry about. Engine is new, tolerances are tight, therefore more friction and heat.

I have one question for all those lucky 300 owners out there. Does this baby look/is bigger than the N250. And does it have a commanding presence on the road. I know it cannot be compared to bigger sports bikes, but how does it feel in the real world?

Just today morning I received a call from their end... But NOT from the new KTM showroom in Kharagpur, rather directly from one Bajaj official personnel who is probably the PBK head in Bengal (guessed by talking). He conversed with me quite sometime and asked me to save his cell no. for further enquiry.. As suggested by friend Arunrk85 before, I inundated Bajaj customer-service-cell mail inbox repeatedly with added queries. So the result ultimately came. What I got to know from him is summarized below..

                            1. Still no delivery started in Bengal, even in Kolkata too (but will begin shortly by this month end).. And when I enquired about my other friends from other state, who already got delivery, he countered that the places (tier one cities) nearer to Pune are slated for earliest delivery. So happened as too many bookings are pending in those cities already. exception: DELHI (Vasant Kunj showroom)..

                            2. As tier one cities are getting priorities, so no exception is Kolkata too. Although who booked a bit late in Kolkata Chowringhee showroom (already there is two showrooms in Kolkata now, 2nd one is new VIP Road showroom) will get their bikes delivered earlier than I. So my bike is getting a li'l bit delayed as I booked in Kharagpur which doesn't come in tier 1 cities.

                            3. There are now totally 5 KTM showrooms already established in WB (as per Bajaj's new PBK pan-India expansion process from 71 to 80 in number) along with the older Kolkata Chowringhee and Siliguri.. The rest 3 are 1.Kharagpur 2.Durgapur 3. VIP Road Kolkata.

                            4. Already my bike is allotted to be delivered first from KGP zone.. As per his opinion it will hit KGP showroom latest by 15th May, '13. And this is the first Ninja delivery from KGP showroom till date. So by 19th May I should take it. Only 2 bookings happened in KGP showroom till now where as Kolkata Chowringhee is gasping to manage is over-flowing customers' demand.

                            5. But, disgracefully, my semester exam will be ending on 25th May. So soon after on 26th May morning I will return KGP via Kolkata from Chennai where I'm now and get my hands on her by my earliest as stipulated with him.

And the last but not the least, I need to call him again to make it sure that for that one week delay from my side she shouldn't be delivered to other on-spot customers (if asked for) and shouldn't be test-ridden or tampered by anyone else in between.

So the countdown begins for exact 30 days to hit my hometown with a Ninja first ever (till date no N250R).. Will keep on updating with further progress from Bajaj end.. Here goes the snapshot for newly built KTM showroom in Kharagpur for Midnaapur district area of WB.. Still work is going on..Click image for larger version

It is really bigger.. A very well-shot or well edited pic. just doesn't do any justice to her. Physically checked it in Chennai Adyar showroom where both white and green one are kept along with one demo KTM RC8 It's really bigger to feel, specially the front faring along with the well sculpted tank.. N surely bigger feel than N250R. Once you seat on its saddle and stretch out your hands to its clip-ons you will yourself get it.. (But depends on your physique)...

Thanks buddy , i too share your enxiety as probably Chandigarh too is being considered a tier 2 city by Kawasaki for launching their bike there. As far as Probiking guys there are concerned they dont have the faintest idea as to when would they get the first lot of 300's for delivery to customers. Though yesterday i was told by their manager that the press launch in Chandigarh would be on 26th. So till then I too am sitting and twindling my thumbs.

Didn't a single ninja 300, at least for demo purpose, reach Chandigarh showroom to show its customers how it does feel??!! Quite difficult situation..
