Guys my 390s coolant level suddenly decreased alarmingly with out a trace of leak. After that I topped it up to the max level and again after 3days again it reduced to the min level. There is no external leaks through the hoses or any area. What may be the cause of reduction in coolant level?need suggestions and relevant ideas.

Do have a look through the engine oil inspection window and check the color of the oil. This is to make sure that the coolant hasn't been mixing in with the oil, if it has been then it can be a bit of a serious problem.Originally posted by kkamaleshh View PostGuys my 390s coolant level suddenly decreased alarmingly with out a trace of leak. Got my new bike delivered on thursday. it hass been really nice experince. apart from seat is hard.and the Tank vibrates and produces like plastic vibration noise between 3k to 4.5k rpm. its not a technical promblem but very irritating. will take the bike to showroom on monday or tuesday. If you have never done a mistake in your life, it means you have never tried anything new.

No coolant leakage in engine oil. Inspected its normal. Today removed all coolant from radiator and removed the overflow and refilled it. Waiting to see changes!!Originally posted by krish2778 View PostDo have a look through the engine oil inspection window and check the color of the oil. Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi guys. I have a serious doubt. I changed my rear brake pads when it was 2000kms on the odo. Now it is 5000kms on the odo, the front brake pad has a life of 1000kms left and the rear brake pad has a life of 2000 to 2500kms left. Is this the average the brake pad life of a duke 390? Some xbhpians haven't even changed both their pads with even 10000kms on the odo. What could be the problem? And I dont drive so insane for my brake pads to last only this much. Thanks.

Brake pad wear is not a very big issue and varies depending on the riding style of each individual. Just change it If you are feeling any loss. It's just 200 bucks for a set man...!!Originally posted by Saba View PostHi guys. I have a serious doubt. I changed my rear brake pads when it was 2000kms on the odo. There are rare cases where coolant leaked in the engine core from the coolant pump. Also check the radiator for leaks. Or better yet take it to service centre at the earliest to save yourself a useless runabout later. The problem is serious. Believe me.

Its not the tank. Its the tank cap believe me.try holding it down while revving sound disapears. To solve the roblem use Allan key from tool kit of appropriate size and tighten fuel cap outer. Then find a way to keep fuel cap lid from vibrating.
Believe me in the long run the seat will grow on you. It gets comfortable after a few hundred kms.

Abs does that man. It causes the pads to rub against the plate a lot. Do you ride the front brake a lot in traffic? Do you ride in stop gap traffic a lot? If so on ABS this is normal. What is the ODO reading now. Also tell ktm mechs to inspect the calippers for air blockage. This can cause the bikes breaks to stay engaged to some extent. In India we tend to ride our bikes while maintaining pressure on the rear brakes. Its not something we do but more like we are habituated to doing it. So rear brake wear with ABS is normal. Try my method and post results.

No coolant leak in the radiator. Not checked the coolant pump yet. If it reduces, will check the coolant pump. Already took to the service station. No leak in the radiator and engine oil. If the coolant level still reduces then will check the coolant pump. Thanks.Originally posted by Balgi View PostThere are rare cases where coolant leaked in the engine core from the coolant pump. Also check the radiator for leaks. Don't mention it. Try to ride the gears. The engine breaking is solid on the 390. If you're in the right gear, you don't need to use the breaks.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey hi congrats on the duke. When I took my black 390 had the same rattling noise after hours of search finally Hyderabad ktm sreekanth and phani figured out that it's coming from the rear view mirror just get it checked out another reason might be the fuel cap flapOriginally posted by Dimpy View PostHI Folks,
Today I feeling like to shout.. scream.. and do dance all at the same time.. coz of happiness and excitement. I got my bike finally today. Got in Black Color.
I would like to share some of my experience about the bike and overall service.
I bought the bike from Marathalli KTM Bangalore. People whome I interacted for purchase of the bike, Showroom manager Mr. Joshi, Sales Rep. Sandeep and Finance guy Madhu.
The reason I mentioned all of them was they sort of service I got from these guys. Extremely helpful guys.. and they themselves are passionate bikers.. (expect for the Finance Guy). The delivery of the bike, was done exactly the way and at the time at which I wanted. No Questions asked.. no objections raised.. Yes sir to everything. Sales guy was with me at every step. Extremely happy with the service. I would suggest to try them out for future owners.
Now about the bike.
Realized that it is not for Bangalore traffic and too in the peak hour.. well.. got the bike today... PDI was done by Sales guy (who himself has good knowledge on duke) and myself. Got the tyres filled with Tyre protect (I will tell about it later). Took the bike for Pooja .. bought it back to home.. and parked it. How the bike performed.. I guess lot many people have already told that.
Nothing else.. other than.. im soooper excited and happy. I can sleep peacefully now ( I actually had done night walk twice in past week .. no no.. i hv not done that before)..
I was little concerned that if I will fit on the bike (im 6ft tall) and if I will be able to drive it comfortably (i used avenger and bullet before.) but.. I was right at home on this bike.. no wrist pain.. no uncomfort nothing. even after 50 mins of peak traffic. There was however some vibration/rattling noise between 3k to 4.5k rpm from left side of tank from front. I will show them Next working day.. but its nothing which cannot be ignored. I will post rest of my observation after driving it few thousand KMs.
p.s: Manufacturing date for my bike was 18th sep. 2014.. and I bought on 1st oct.
About Tyre Protector: I wanted to buy some power parts for the bike.. but instead.. I put my money on this. it is cheap.. and very good.. he literally hammered a nail all the way in a tyre which had no treads at all.. and then pulled it out.. with in a second or two.. it sealed the tyre.. not even a single bubble of the air after that ( checked with soap water). He has given guarantee that the tyre will never flat out.. if it does.. he will refill the solvent free of cost..
Any suggestions or inputs are most welcome.
