Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Ideally shouldn't be a problem.. parts should continue to be available for at least a few more years.Originally posted by sidmall View PostLike if the new D390 comes up would it make any difficulty in servicing and parts related for the old D390.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I'd presume some of the parts will also be shared. So, not that worrisome, but since the new one's around the corner, I'd highly suggest to wait.Originally posted by sidmall View PostHi,
I am planning to buy a new bike soon within a week.
I love D390 but my concern is currently, I can buy the old version and the new version is already showcased in EICMA 2017 but no confirmation on its release date.
I cant wait that much so my concern is if I buy the current D390 what will be the consequences if any? Like if the new D390 comes up would it make any difficulty in servicing and parts related for the old D390.

Can you please share the location of the service center on Maps? I'm up for a paid service and want to get it done there. Thanks.Originally posted by kanth View PostRegarding service, I don't think you need to worry, as I believe you are put up in South of Bangalore, I presume Banashankari, if so, there is Auto Service at BSK 2nd stage, they are the authorized probiking service center for Bajaj, KTM and Kawasaki bikes...they are the best in my opinion.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I don't think it would be problem. Duke 390 2016 has sold well across all over India, so finding parts for it won't be a trouble at all. Moreover many parts of 390 are shared with 200 counterpart too, which was an even big hit. But I suggest you to wait because you might regret buying a 2016 model just before the 2017 model was released. I hear they intend to deliver the 2017 models by April at all costs.Originally posted by sidmall View PostHi,

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I'm currently nearing 12k km and the rear tyre is starting to wear out. Think it'll do for another 1k-1.5k km (front even more), but want to know which tyre to go for. Masseter or Michelin (Pilot Street or Sport) or Pirelli (Diablo Rosso or Angel STs) or the stock Metz? I'm more of a straight line rider but if I'm in the ghats, I lean. For reference, I've leaned till the 4th mark on the tyre.
Help would be appreciated.

Only the 390 version or 200 new version will also be launched?!Originally posted by famishedrider View PostI don't think it would be problem. Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
No idea about Masseter, but Michelin is good though. Found it to be similar to Metz on most of the conditions, better on broken or sandy roads, except during hard acceleration while coming out of a corner. Michelin feels sliding slightly if you accelerate hard out of a corner than Metz.Originally posted by Gunslingin_Ridr View PostI'm currently nearing 12k km and the rear tyre is starting to wear out. No confirmation as of yet but 390 is more likely to be released ahead of the 200 variant and as you are looking to buy the 390 you can rest assured you won't be disappointed with any delay.Originally posted by Gowtham Msd View PostOnly the 390 version or 200 new version will also be launched?!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I'd say get the MRF REVZ C1 (the masseter doesn't come in 150 size, and am not sure what it's speed rating is). The revz c1 (not revz c) is a soft compound and grip will be good. One advantage of michelin's is they are slightly hard compound and are less puncture prone. And the mrf cost less than 4k, so imo it's a very good choice. One reason why the michelin is expensive is because it is an import.Originally posted by Gunslingin_Ridr View PostI'm currently nearing 12k km and the rear tyre is starting to wear out. And remember the michelin comes in two variants.. the street (radial, imported from thailand and cost's around 5800) and sport(non radial, way cheaper and not that good of a grip for spirited riding)
I haven't used the pirelli's so won't comment on them.

There is cheaper option (H Rated) Metz which is similar priced as Michelin.
I have used Michelin too which is good enough tire and bit comfortable.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

If Michelin provides longer mileage, I'd go with that.Originally posted by riazmomin View PostStick with stock.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I changed my stock Metz to Michelin at 14000 KMs as it had puncture right in middle and i was on multi day trip. I did not discard the Metz and kept it with me.Originally posted by Gunslingin_Ridr View PostIf Michelin provides longer mileage, I'd go with that.
Michelin lasted long enough for me and it had good tread still when I wanted to change it as it had bad sidewall puncture and it was not safe at high speed.
So, I removed the Michelin at 38000 KMs. So it ran 24000 KMs with still good tread left.
Fitted back the old Metz and now my bike has done close to 44000 KMs.
Summary:
My riding has been 85% city and 75% sane riding.
Michelin good enough even after 24000 KMs
Metz OK at 20000 KMs with still life left for a 1000-1500 KMs.2007 - Hero Honda CBZ Xtreme

Speed rating of MRF is less than michelin, so better to go with michelin as in case of puncture, speed rating decrases.
You can get michelin PSR ~ 4700 Rs (5500 - 15% cashback) during some festival/big billion day offers on Amazon. And you will need to spend more 200/300 bucks for get it changed at local tyre shop.
