Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I have been waiting for quite some time, more than 6 months to be exact to get my first bike and looks like the wait is almost over now as there have been rumors of dealers taking booking of the 2017 390 Duke. So, tomorrow I'm planning to ring up all the dealers here in Bangalore.
Which would be the best showroom to take delivery from? Langford KTM looks good as per reviews on Google Map and also it is the 2nd closest KTM Showroom near to my place, 1st being KTM Banashankari.
Also, I have started reading the manual of the previous generation bike. Please let me know what all articles, books, videos I need to go through as I have never ridden a bike with rear disk brakes in my life

I would suggest you to go for a duke200 or better gixxer/hornet.
Cheers.

It's going to be my 1st bike doesn't mean I have not ridden bikes. I'm very much comfortable riding FZs, Plusar and Apache. Last year I rented a Karizma and rode 200kms+ on it. Also, ABS is a priority for me.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostFirst bike?

I bought my Kawasaki Er6n from Langford Road Showroom last June, they were really helpful and courteous, sadly though both the showroom manager (Suresh Joshi) and the showroom sales executive (Pavan) are transferred to 2 different showrooms now, they were the ones who helped me out in my bike buying process, really good guys and on top of that proper bikers too...Pavan is in Indiranagar KTM and I believe Suresh is at KTM Marathalli.Originally posted by kausarayub View PostI have been waiting for quite some time, more than 6 months to be exact to get my first bike and looks like the wait is almost over now as there have been rumors of dealers taking booking of the 2017 390 Duke. I just called the Langford, BSK and Vijayanagar showrooms, Langford said the booking will open in March beginning and delivery by end of March, BSK said booking will open in 3rd week of Feb, Vijayanagar has no idea. Need to wait few more days now

I would advise you to avoid Banashankari branch. Had bad experience with them. Heard good review of indiranagar branch. No idea about Langford though.Originally posted by kausarayub View PostThanks for the information

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Sure, I will try to get in touch with both Indiranagar and Langford then. Langford has really good reviews on the internet so that's the reason why I'm considering them. Although Langford doesn't provide service, only sale.Originally posted by Skanda View PostI would advise you to avoid Banashankari branch. Had bad experience with them. Regarding service, I don't think you need to worry, as I believe you are put up in South of Bangalore, I presume Banashankari, if so, there is Auto Service at BSK 2nd stage, they are the authorized probiking service center for Bajaj, KTM and Kawasaki bikes...they are the best in my opinion.Originally posted by kausarayub View PostSure, I will try to get in touch with both Indiranagar and Langford then. Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
I second that. Had good service experience at Autoservice. They answered each and every question I had with patience and they usually let people stay and look at the service. I regularly visit there and get my bike serviced in front of me. Peace of mind if you ask me! I had an issue with rear ABS ring at Ladakh and I called the service personnel at auto service. He guided me and was able to solve the ABS issue and complete my ride without any issue.Originally posted by kanth View PostRegarding service, I don't think you need to worry, as I believe you are put up in South of Bangalore, I presume Banashankari, if so, there is Auto Service at BSK 2nd stage, they are the authorized probiking service center for Bajaj, KTM and Kawasaki bikes...they are the best in my opinion.Live to Ride!

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Buying Experience is going to be the similar at every showroom. So I suggest you see the stock and pick a bike off the lot, it doesn't really matter where. Just make sure PDI is done properly and inspect the bike for any damage.
I have had a good experience with Auto Service Banashankari as far as the service is concerned. But I was shocked to learn they do not update the Service Records. I had to claim warranty for Air Filter box. When I went to KTM BTM to get the new part under warranty, I was told only the services done in BTM and Banashankari were available for them to verify. I had to carry the Bills from Auto Service to prove the timely service and claim warranty. This was a bummer. And what if I didn't have the bills?
No warranty?

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
On a casual chit chat a year ago with the svc I go to, I was told that not all svc's are centrally computerized. I was really surprised to hear this in today's world!Originally posted by thrustrev View PostAnd what if I didn't have the bills?
No warranty?
So always make sure they make an entry and put their rubber stamp in your Owners manual on the service coupons with the correct date. So in case you do not have bills, you can show the owners manual, and if you pay by a card you will have a payment receipt as an additional proof.

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
Hi,
I am planning to buy a new bike soon within a week.
I love D390 but my concern is currently, I can buy the old version and the new version is already showcased in EICMA 2017 but no confirmation on its release date.
I cant wait that much so my concern is if I buy the current D390 what will be the consequences if any? Like if the new D390 comes up would it make any difficulty in servicing and parts related for the old D390.Once a Rider always a Rider!!!
