Cleaner combustion and an unnoticeable power increase. Had in my zma. You won’t be able to clean iridium plugs because of that small thin protruding pin. Also you should be cautious at each service so they don’t put sand paper on it.Originally posted by zestbiker View Post

KTM SVC don't clean the plug, they simply replace them.Originally posted by kris123456 View PostCleaner combustion and an unnoticeable power increase. Had in my zma. Now I want to re start biking because of 2 reasons 1st is distance b/w my home & office is 40kms which is not manageable in this traffic with car & 2nd is my passion of bikes.
My heart purely say to go head with duke 390 but brain says dominor make sense.
I heard there is lot of issues with 2017 duke 390. Has KTM fixed all the issues they had with this model?
Request you guys to throw some lights & suggest me what makes things much strong case to go head with duke on dominor.
Hi
Duke 390 is safer, faster and technically a superior bike compared to Dominar 400. If you ride fast and need enthusiastic performance then go for 390. Duke can be faster than any other bike in India currently on sale today. But if you want effortless drive, don't want to rev too much and just want to go A to B relatively fast then choose Dominar. It is comfortable bike than Duke.

Just adding a couple of noteworthy points here. Since you've accustomed to driving your car for the past two years, transitioning to motorcycle, your comfort level can vary significantly vis-a-vis riding a sport motorcycle with a sportier riding position as compared to a bike which offers a comfortable position. The newer Duke 390s are comparatively comfortable versus the old versions. Secondly, Dominar being the toned down version of the 390, the Dominar can fit the bill for someone who wants a relaxed riding position, coupled with all the bells and whistles that the Duke 390 has.Originally posted by madonurway View PostHello friends,

The Dominar is a well engineered machine, able to handle city duties with aplolmb. The bike pretty much falls into the power cruiser category and I'd suggest you take a test ride (preferably with a pillion) to analyze the pros and cons of each machine, considering the kays you'd do on a daily basis and then settle for the one.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Installed mobile charger today on my bike. From Robotouch. Bought a year ago. Unable to install due to various work commitments. Finally installed today. Here are some pics..
Btw the charger was not working in the bike shop. The guy said their charging cable was faulty. It'll work with my mobile though. Surprisingly, after coming home I tested it on my Oneplus 3T and it's working perfectly. Just the dash charging feature doesn't work. Normal charging is absolutely fine!

Am using the same charger for past one year. Charging is not that fast if navigation maps are on in the screen otherwise it works well.Originally posted by jack_daniels View PostInstalled mobile charger today on my bike. From Robotouch. Hello Guys,Originally posted by nawaz390 View PostAlright!
I must hope for the best
Will keep the thread posted on future progress.
Cheers,
Nawaz
Wished to share an update on the Tick-Tick noise from my bike's engine.
I received the bike back from the service center on 9 Dec 2017, and the noise was completely gone.
This time the ASC changed the Cylinder Head, and a few other components.
Sorry for the late update, however, that is partly due to the 1000kms run-in period that the ASC instructed me to follow, hence I waited before posting.
I have crossed almost 1050kms now after the repair work, and the engine seems to behave as desired.
However, as they say, "Every End is a new Beginning!"-- The engine problems have gone indeed, but I have been seeing the "Low Battery" warning almost every alternate day!

I wished to know do we get the warranty on battery for 1 year or 2 years ? And what would be the best battery to go for ?
Cheers,
Nawaz

Nawaz, appreciate the follow-up. What's interesting is, though the entire head and the related intricacies, other than camshaft and valve springs were replaced, I wonder why they didn't replace the timing chain and tensioner? Were these replaced in any earlier iterations?Originally posted by nawaz390 View PostHello Guys,

The battery has a standard one year warranty, the stock one is manufactured by Exide (BLACK COLOR). The aftermarket too is manufactured by Exide, called Exide Xplore XLTZ-9, you can get that one.
Cheers!

The timing chain and tensioner were not changed before, and I am not really sure why they did not change this time either. Earlier when you had pointed this out, I asked them to have a check, and they assured me that it is fine!Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostNawaz, appreciate the follow-up. Shall I go ahead and pro-actively change it in next service ? In that case, may I request an idea of the cost involved please ?
Regarding the battery, thanks for the suggestion, I will go ahead and order one online.
Cheers,
Nawaz

Re: KTM Duke 390 - Ownership Reviews and Experiences
The tensioner and chain both shouldn't cost more than 800k max, excluding taxes if my memory serves me right. Just keep a tab on this, in case you feel the Duke being temperamental again, you can try replacing the CCT and the chain along with. Replacing them would mean draining the engine oil, removing the valve cover, camshafts, well, that's a whole lot of headache, all over. Let's hold it for sometime later.Originally posted by nawaz390 View PostThe timing chain and tensioner were not changed before, and I am not really sure why they did not change this time either.
