  • Re: TVS Jupiter Owners Review and Experience

So I took it back to Service Center yesterday as when I have a pillion rider with me, scooter pulls more plus it kind of wobbles. The mechanic did a test drive and he instantly agreed to this issue. He had asked me to come in morning, so I went today at 9am and mechanic started to work on at 9.30am. He first tried adjusting steering bolts and it didn't work when he took a test drive. So, next, he changed the front wheel bearings, even though I told him that whole front wheel has been replaced on a day of my delivery itself. He tried playing around with the steering settings more but he gave up. He and other mechanic discussed the issue, both test drove the scooter and said that they did what they could but unable to solve the problem. They called another workshop of the same dealer where they had replaced the tire first time and asked me to go there as the only thing left to work on is front forks now, and it will have to be done there.

The mechanic came with me on the scooter, he drove and felt more of pulling and wobbling with me behind, which I had already told him. He told the problem to the workshop manager there, and a manager told me to come after 5pm, it will be fixed. But, I told him that these guys worked for 3 hours, couldn't solve, I came here last week after delivery and you guys replaced a front tire. I simply requested a replacement of my scooter right after delivery and was told that it's not possible right now but can be fixed. Now, you guys delivered me a faulty product for which I paid you, now I am required to get fixed right after delivery from you too! I spoke with a manager and just pushed him for an exchange, but he said it's not possible as the RTO process has been initiated already and may even get a tag number in few days. I said, the day I took, I told you right away and you didn't change it. Now, I don't want you to fix it, just change it. So, he said the owner of the showroom will come in morning, just talk to him. Meanwhile, I also called TVS and lodged a complaint. After which the workshop manager called me saying why did I file a complaint as he said he will fix it! I said, it's not about whether you fix it or not, its about dealership delivered me a faulty scooter without properly doing PDI and also not allowing me to do PDI. He said what will TVS do in this, it's the dealership that will decide whether to fix or replace. I said it may be, but I felt the company should know. So, he said now he can't give me scooter today, as someone from the company will come to see then he can give me delivery etc. I said, its fine, I don't want you to touch at all.

So, will see what the owner of the showroom says tomorrow. I don't think it will be possible to get a new piece as RTO is done, so most likely he will stick with a repair. Has anyone got this done before? Thanks.

That's sad man. But I suggest you should write this to TVS too explaining them with the situation. Let them know how dealers duping customers with faulty products & do mention the showroom address & concerned person. I am pretty sure they will take an appropriate action against such sellers.

TVS and Dealer only offered a fix. We discussed issues for 2 hours where they admitted fault plus mistake of not replacing it right away when I told them about the one side pulling issue before the RTO process initiated because now number from RTO is issued, they can't change it. They had already fixed it, I test drove, felt steering more lighter, told them will see after driving few days. But, after driving few short rounds here and there, I feel the problem is there but in comparison to before, it's just 20%. So, will just wait until service time to tell them. It's kind of like, when I lightly hold steering, it feels like kind of aligned/titled more to the right just 2-3mm, so if I let steering hold it's line, it will slowly go to the right. But, If I completely let my hands off, it slowly goes on left. When I test drove with mechanic behind earlier, it was holding its line without me adjusting my weight on the side to keep it straight. But, Now I kind of have to put my weight, but still, before they fixed it, I couldn't let go of my hands at all as it will instantly tilt on left. Moral of the situation is, Just do a proper PDI WITH Test drive of 3-4Km at least. As my father says, issues with a fork can never be solved 100% and I hope he is wrong

Guess we have to live with it. [emoji26]

I m thinking about nTorq...Which now puts me in a position where I may have to reconsider my options. It's either nTorq or access 125.

I had bought Access 125 in 2015 end for my father which I often used. the And strength of that machine has no comparision I feel. It was often quicker to get on moving on access than my gixxer sf, never felt stressed. Very light and Quick. Ntorq is 116kg, has more features, good looking alloy wheels, and awesome exhaust sound. Only two things where NTorq may fall behind against access is mileage and engine - because it's new engine from TVS, we don't know how it may perform, but you have 5 years of warranty. Price of Ntorq and Special Edition Access 125 is hardly any different. If mileage plus weigh is not an issue, then go for NTorq, even if you don't like it after some time, you will still get kind of better resale value as the product is new.

Yes, mechanics did that only, however, they are not seem to rectify it 100%. I will just have the fork replaced during the service as he had offered if I don't feel right about it.

Did you installed led on stock ac current or you converted it to dc supply?

Fork Replaced, Now I can let go of hands and scooter very much holds its straight line. Although If holding steering lightly, I still feel steering kind of eager to move 2-3mm on right and hold that line that way. Not sure what it can be. Mechanics told that it's fine now and took a good test drive with me by freeing hands and showing me it is going straight. I will have to drive few days and give updated feedback.

                        • Scooter CVT Variator roller weight combinations

Has anyone tried any particular roller weight modifications on a tvs jupiter?

If yes, kindly suggest the specific weight and roller combinations.

I will be experimenting with Bando rollers of the Access 125, havnt checked the weight yet but was told that they are a tad bit heavier than the Jupiter's.

Any suggestions on this or other ways of souping up a scooter, reply here!
