Some other Gixxer user has pointed-out in this same thread, not to use fully synthetic oil till your bike has done 10,000KMS.

    I suggest you try Shell Advance AX7 ( 10W-40 ) :-

    Shell Advance AX7 550031394 10W-40 Synthetic Technology Motorbike Engine Oil (1 L): Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike

Can you check if there is bolt that pushes brake-pedal down near foot-rest-area; most motorcycles have that bolt to adjust the brake-pedal-offset.

PS: You may have to adjust the rear-drum-brake-adjust-nut accordingly.
I dont see any bolt that adjusts it and these svc guys are telling it is same in all gixxer's ,which is not! :banghead:
By the way where do you give your bike for service?

Gixxerians of kolkata and nearby i would like to recommend "Taminaru Suzuki"
        Situated at Barasat
Its one hell of a svc
Me along with my two fellow xbhpian gixxerians went there and after being fed up repeatedly by Animesh suzuki agarpara it was a oasis in the desert
They reassembled the bike from scratch and did what not
I was worried about the future of the bike because of the bad svcs and their behaviors
But these guys had done it all
Felt like returning with a new bike while coming back from
        P.s.
They have idemitsu f.s. oil there
I have nothing to complain of the oil as i think its well enough for me and its well enough for "guys" maybe not for "bikers"
Yes i am not fond of nitpicking to express my vast knowledge (sarcasm intended)
And nor i am paid by the svc to write the review
Just wanted to help the fellow riders to find a suitable svc where they can come out of the service station happily

When I asked svc guy about this oil he said not to use other than Motul from Suzuki. Anyone tried shell?

I'm using shell ax7 and it's pretty good. Instead of mineral oil you can use this as its semi synthetic. Main change is gear shifts are lot smoother.

              1. I have an unopened pack of Genuine Suzuki Engine Oil ( 10W-40 ) for the Gixxer, and I don't see 'MOTUL' being mentioned anywhere on the pack. Infact its manufactured by some other oil manufacturer I think. Suzuki does recommends MOTUL Chain Lube for the Gixxer.

              2. Shell Advance AX7 is probably the best semi-synthetic oil you can have in India. ( atleast at the moment. )

                              Hi Guys,

A friend is interested in getting a new bike who is in chennai, he asked me a couple to questions. I just need advise from yo guys.

1.) He would like to know whether we will be able to fit R15 fairing on suzuki gixxer or gixxer sf. If not, also suggest any other fairing or front doom light can be modified/fit on gixxer/gixxer sf. What will be the mileage of sf rear disk variant. As he is not okay with the sf front doom

2.) What will be mileage of the bike after one year

3.) Has anyone tried fitting ABS to gixxer/sf. If so what will be cost of fitting of ABS on both the wheels.

4.) I also have a plan to buy normal gixxer, since it gives more mileage than sf. So can i fit sf fariing to the naked bike,. So what is the cost and will the mileage get decreased if I fit on a fariring.

Thanks in advance for your advise.
