Re: Suzuki Gixxer 155
Goregaon is 16 km & Kandivli is 22km from Bandra West.Originally posted by radikel View PostThanks for the tip! Really helps me out.
>How far is Goregaon/Kandivli from Bandra West? Also I will be shifting to Andheri East next week?
> Also I either plan to pay the road tax for plying in MH...or plan to get an NOC from Bangalore itself, but seeing as my residence here is in flux I plan to pay the road tax via RTO(?)
However this is the first iam hearing of paying a cess on bringing goods here.
Kindly explain to me what I have to do once my bike reaches dadar..
Octroi which is a cess for bringing goods in Mumbai is payable to BMC. But this is only payable at the RTO when you get your vehicle registered in MH.
As far as I know, you can get your bike cleared from railway authorities by doing necessary paperwork at the station. Octroi will not be applicable that time.
However, to be sure of the procedure, you may consult an agent.

Where is ABT? and thanks a lot for the detailed information🙌Originally posted by ashwanth.r View PostYou are spot-on. The service at SVCs is nothing but cleaning, changing the oil and applying a white (this looked like the bathroom cleaning liquid of the 1980s) fluid which they called "polish". This liquid was oily and the worst thing is they polish the front disc too leaving it with near-zero braking power. If they are in the mood, they will mostly mal-adjust your clutch setting with zero free play.
I see you are on the ECR. SMK is too far and the roads leading to it are full of craters. You have not tried ABT?
Front Brake: A mild intermittent squeak is okay. When you wash your vehicle, spray a jet of water in that tiny gap between pads and disc - this will remove any dust/sand particles. I usually wash the disc with soap water, allow the foam to work around by rotating the tyre and rinse the whole set-up - this almost always restores braking power at front as it removes most of the oily contamination. Glazed pads will also contribute to slightly less braking power on the front. The system is self- adjusting and we can't do much (loosen/tighten it).
Rear Brakes: The drum-brake lining tends to get contaminated with water (during rains), rust and brake dust. Needs to be cleaned every 3000 kms atleast to retain that mild complementary braking power at rear.
Gearbox: A tight dry chain and lots of freeplay in clutch cable will lead to shifting difficulties. A very loose chain will lead to a cluncky gear shift. You can clean and lube the chain yourself every 500 kms using aerosol cans or if you prefer kerosene/diesel + gear box oil combo. The SVC can't do much here - but most of them tend to overtight the chain and spoil the clutch cable freeplay.

I was in Chennai till last year. ABT Suzuki is in Nandanam, Anna Salai. When coming from Guindy->Saidapet, it is after Buhari hotel and before the mosque, on left side.Originally posted by uchun View PostWhere is ABT? and thanks a lot for the detailed information🙌

Don't worry. It'll be fixed easily.Originally posted by hihiru View PostMet with a small accident. One FZ guy came wrong side in a turning and hit me head on.
Though we both fell down escaped without any injuries.
But afterwards i noticed that handle alignment is wrong. Now to go strait i have to keep the handle to right side.
Can this issue be easily rectified by SVC? Gixxie is due for 1st service next week.
