      Hey guys..
My bike's been acting a little weird lately. Have completed 3000kms so far. Thing is the bike feel like it has no power between 3000-4000rpm. It feels like when you are about to hit reserve and try accelerating hard and it doesnt go. Mentioned this to the SVC but they didnt really do anything about it. Any idea what's causing this and how to fix it?

          Hi,

Went for a long ride to Shimla from Ludhiana with 1 up (my wife) this Jan, couldn't get time to update.

One side trip 220 kms with two stoppages, Bike performed exceptionally well. Wife complained that seat is not comfortable (she is not used to for long rides and it was enforced, but she enjoyed one started our trip) while on our 325 kms Manali trip 1 up (with mt friend) we were all fine.

                              Hi Guys,
Apologies for delayed reply. As it turns out the mechanic who had come to pick the bike up had told me that the piston rings might be damaged/worn out. But after diagnosis of the SVC the problem was with the valve clearances which were not as per the recommendations. So they adjusted the clearances & the bike started normally again. Pick up charge Rs 350/-

Had the piston rings been damaged, I would have written a mail to Suzuki Customer Service. I mean I don't expect such poor quality from a reputed Japanese brand like Suzuki.

I did not observe any smoke before this problem occurred.

                              • Needed info on gear shift patterns.

Hey guys, bought a new Gixxer dual discs Red-Black.

For first 1000 kms i have been advised to drive below 4.5k RPM. So i always be in the range of 3-3.5k RPM at 5th gear (50-55kmph).
Sometimes i hit 4k RPM and a speed of 60 kmph
I have driven 160kms in 4 days. My daily travel is about 42kms.
Now my shift pattern is -

                                0-10/13 kmph 1st gear
                                10-23/24 kmph 2nd gear
                                24-36 3rd kmph gear
                                36-45 4th kmph gear
                                45 kmph onwards 5th gear

Is this good? Will this give me a mileage of 50+

I don't brake hard or accelerate hard.. Gradual acceleration.

Sorry for a long post, but i am a hardcore technology geek and i always had a moped. This is my first attempt to even understand bikes. So please help out.
