Thanks for your suggestions tutul & uchun; even though I have inspected the front end visually, I will be taking the bike for a proper inspection to the mech this Sunday. BTW, she has been running fine since the past two days, so I'm quite relieved

Hi everyone. I have clocked 150 kms in my gixxer in 10 days. All my ride is in heavy traffic. Is it necessary to take the gixxer out for long rides during break in period. If so how often? Thanks

No, Just try to keep the running in rpm limit and not cross it, if you are on long rides you might not be able to keep the rpm limit.
No replacement for an engine Displacement

So after a 6 months of trials and errors and making shopkeepers rich finally have found the perfect lighting solution
            And its rather cheap
            Dirt cheap
            Bosch 4100k 55/60w
            Whichs costs 400 a pair
            That means 200 a piece
            Installed and was in awe
After cree leds,Phillips orsam and many of our groupmates projector setups we all were unhappy about the results
But finally this thing came to rescue
Highly reccomending all to give a shot

Hi... can you show us some images after installing this bulb? Like before & after effects; it will be helpful. If you bought this bulb from an online store, please share the link too. Thanks.

City traffic is infact good for breaking in. you keep shifting the gears and so every gear gets used in every RPM which is good. Relax and enjoy the new bike.

My gixxer has completed 6K kms & I have been loving each ride since the past year. Last night while returning from work I accidentally hit a large & steep pothole at around 40 kmph. There was a loud thud (like the mudguard has hit the chassis), and fortunately I didn't lose composure. I'm worried if this incident could have done any damage to the suspension, steering geometry, alloy etc. Visual inspection did not yield any superficial damage, but I'm a bit skeptical before taking it to the service station.

Any doubts on potential damage, dear members?
Brother, bike manufacturers know how bad the Indian roads are, and they build their bikes to withstand such punishment.
So relax and enjoy. I tour on my bike and usually hit such potholes on unknown roads at speeds as high as 60, still no problems.
Japanese bikes are well built, so no need to worry.
I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Hey guys I have clocked 7500kms and got done my 3rd service yesterday.. The bike was awesome till last month but 2 times my bike fall in a standing position then the problem raised. I feel uncomfortable while driving even at low speeds and I felt the smoothness of the bike totally gone. The sound of the bike is totally irritating me and feel abnormal vibration. When I told the same to the SVC guy, he is trying to convincing me that the bike is in normal condition. I tried another gixxer bike in showroom, it is totally smoother than mine. Please advice me what to do further. I'm in Bangalore, my bike is my only companion here.

Depends upon your relationship with the svc
But not for the whole bike but gor only the electricals
In my case they wont nor that i need the warranty on electricals anyway because everytime you claim something on electricals they seem to deny your claim so doesn't matter

I was bringing back my bike from service station today and a weird incident happened.

Whenever I take my bike out, I usually see the fuel knob position, which everyone does. But this time I forgot to notice it. It was in off position.

While riding back home, the engine should have started coughing after a few metres and stopped. But it didn't. I did not realise it until I reached home and put my hand down on the knob, which I usually do after parking the bike every single time. The knob was in off position throughout! I felt minor buzzes on the footpegs and especially a ticklish buzz right under my seat throughout the ride back home.

I was appalled at my own carelessness when I noticed this! But I was also shocked on how the bike was running for over 6-7 km with the fuel knob in this position! I did not stop anywhere along the distance.

Now I do not if my carburetor knob or the carburetor itself is faulty!

I too sometimes ride my bike on off knob position. And i usually clock 1-1.5 kms on it. Never more.

Yes, it should shudder and stop after that. But mine didn't. I tested it the same way this morning. It ran over 3 km after which I reached my destination. Then, while returning back, I was anxious and put back the knob in on position.

I feel the knob is not working in mine. Because, yesterday around 7 km and today around 3 km in off position is too much of bad stuff.
