It's not possible to tell the exact reason for your chain noise from here . But common causes may be 1) rear sprocket misalignment 2) dry , dirty chain needing lubrication 3) worn chain or sprockets 4) improper chain slack 5) chain set damaged by wrong maintenance ( loss of a few rings on an o-ring chain , for example ) etc .

First thing I would try is to check rear sprocket bearings , lubricate it with grease , align it correctly . Then inspect the chain , clean & lubricate it , adjust slack - following correct procedure for the chain type ( refer to the instructions on the owner's book ) .
3 days ago it was all OK but when the mechanic tightened the chain then the sound started coming !
My bike has done 2500kms till now only I dont think that chain sprockets are worn out !
How to align the tyre at home,I think the problem is due to misalignment !

On both sides of the rear axle there are marks scribed on the chain-adjuster as well as the swing-arm . Check if they are equal i.e on the same mark position on both sides . This is the basic check for alignment , assuming everything was aligned well when it left factory , should be sufficient for all purpose . Else you can get it checked from ASC too .

The given marks for alignment are perfect.Dont you think the horizontal alignment is wrong.(means when viewed from back side of bike the rear wheel sprocket and engine sprocket is not in line) ?

Remember to gear up and ride safe
Rode 420 kms today, with a pillion. The bike performed flawlessly. The bike feels comfortable even at 95 km/h. And yeah, I ride with full gears everytime!

Hello, can someone tell me how much mileage does the gixxer give when driven sanely, also disc vs drum variant, how much difference is noticed if bikes usually ridden between 40-80?

Hello fellow xBhpians, the sweet sound of my bike is gone. Now the sound is like other bikes normal. Is there any way that I can get that old sound back. Did this happen to anyone here?

Many have stated about this issue in the forum and even I'm facing this
Was it after a service or it happened just like that?

Thats a good thing. You are engine is now broken in. How many KMS have you done?

It is not necessarily an issue. The tone of my bike was very harsh in the beginning, but after 1st service, it calmed down which gave me a relief because I knew the engine is in a much relaxed state than it was factory new.

My bad, yeah its not an issue but it is really disheartening(atleast to me) to ride with poor exhaust note which used to be bassy earlier !!

After doing a lot of research online about vacuum leaks, exhaust leak, broken catcon to tappet clearance and discussing about it with one of the senior member in the forum and implementing it in the ASC,I still couldn't get back the sweet bassy sound....

Also the Suzuki engineer at my place told they can't do anything about the exhaust note as they dont have control over the flow of exhaust gases:banghead:

But,now I have one last thing to do which I read online and I'm sure it would bring back the bassy exhaust note, which I'll be updating tomorrow....

                        Lol,I just read this now!
How is it a good thing when your premium 150cc bike sounds just like other commuter bikes?

That's the case with me too. Now I get a really nice bassy sound just after oil gets changed, but it goes to non bassy eventually.

I've also noticed that the bike's nature goes through a lot of changes as you clock kms, ride long fast stretches, get services done. Its as if the bike has a character that keeps on changing. This is my first bike, not sure if it happens will all of them. Does it ?

That would be impossible to happen unless someone used a spacer / shim or placed a washer ( which works same as a shim ) in wrong order while assembling the rear sprocket carrier . Even less possible to that with front sprocket because it rides directly on the drive shaft and has no carrier . If in doubt take it to suzuki service center and explain them the problem - be patient with them . Company service should be able to detect any mis-assembly immediately .
