Two days ago, I replaced the stock Champion plugs with Bosch twin head ones. The stock ones were in good condition and the SVC people insisted on not changing them. But still, as it was about 2 years old, I thought that the replacement was due.
Nevertheless, the problems started right after that.

    1. The bike takes longer press of the starter button for cold starts.

    2. At around 3000-4000 rpm, the engine blips mildly and if I am on lower gears the jerk is significantly observable.

    3. If I hold the throttle constant between 3000-4000 rpm, there are slight pops from the exhaust.

On the other side, performance at higher rpms have improved a bit.
And opinion about the cause and solution is welcome.
You are telling when problem started. then restore the plug to stock one and check.

Did you use spark plug of the same heat range when you changed it? Did you fit it properly? Did you by mistake narrowed or widened the spark plug gap? Try changing it to the stock one. You'll find out.

I did, and with the stock one everything is back to normal. I just wanna know why a better grade sparkplug fails whereas it is supposed to be better.

Suzuki recommends only NGK, Denso and Champion spark plugs for gixxer, those recommended spark plugs are tested in their factory and they wont give any performance issue. Not all better grade spark plugs will give better results if so they would have included in their recommended list. Even though Suzuki recommends NGK for gixxer, only G-Power and Conventional are recommended, Iridium is not recommended for gixxer i have checked in the NGK website. Apart from recommended spark plug whatever you use its all based on trial and error method to find out which one gives good performance.

And can it hold the cruising speed whole day long? As my run in period is over, second service is done too, I'm thinking of attempting some long rides on my gixxer. Looking forward for valuable suggestions and opinions.

I rode maximum of 500km in a day and cruising speed was around 90-95 kmph. Gixxer holds it really good even for long time. Share your expireince with us
